If you don't play RT/4K, Neo is a upgrade compare to power

Shadow happy user for more than 4 years, I used power since launch , good graphics but I never play RT and only in 2K, for all my games, GPU stay at 70% max use, when fps is rarely better than 60 , thanks to 100% CPU (despite run all procees like discord on my local device).

With the lite offer , I decide to downgrade from power to Neo Lite, I play now 80% of time locally with my Legion Go under steam OS, thanks to amazing CPU inside.

And I made a big test : Beamng Drive, 2K high/mid depend of settings, 10 AI car on west cost.

With power I was at 24-35 fps with saturated CPU and GPU at 50-70%.

Now I'm at 45-60 fps with saturated GPU and CPU at 70-80%.

FPS win is huge in this CPU intensive game, and with lowered graphic settings, I can have more fps, when in power it's change nothing.

For GPU rendering, AI and hungry RAM use, power is better.

But for average gamer, the so much powerful GPU of Neo is a no deal.

For reminder, Power is a 4 cores Zen3 at 2.8GHz when Neo is a 4 cores Zen4 at 3.25GHz.

Many gamer said "I want RTX 4080..." , but all forget the steam deck CPU performance of shadow.

EU can pass a law juged unconstitutional by a member state ?

Hello, I post the question here because news question is banned on french subs.

Friday , French conseil constitutionnel said a age check for social network is unconstitutional, for a lot of reason like general surveillance, lack of choice to allow social network with parent authorization, apply to a to big number of plateform (social network, forums, video games) , educational included (for exemple YouTube ARTE video).

https://www.conseil-constitutionnel.fr/decision/2026/2026911DC.htm

During the same time, EU create his app, based on eID (mandatory for 2027).

For me the question if : if EU choose a whole EU age check for social network, and not just an authorization of this type of national law , EU can force France to apply this despite French constitution ?

Because when France purpose a more french constitutionnal version, with a blacklist who are mandatory of control, EU said it's against EU laws because give too many power to ARCOM (french internet regulator).

I can't a see a world who EU allow a "lite" version for french constitution, or any other member state constitution.

Lenovo Legion Go BIOS Update N3CN42WW bricked my device – Repair quote: €237.16

I'm posting this to warn other Legion Go owners before installing BIOS version N3CN42WW.

I bought a Lenovo Legion Go 1 and effectively had a working device for one hour before the updates installed.

Immediately after installing the official and still downloadable (!) Lenovo BIOS update, my Legion Go became completely unusable:

  • Black screen after BIOS Update reboot
  • No boot at all
  • Only the power button and controller LEDs were on

I followed Lenovo's instructions carefully:

  • The original charger was connected the entire time.
  • I did not interrupt the update.
  • After the screen went black, I waited for hours before attempting a restart because I assumed the BIOS update might still be running.

Unfortunately, it never recovered. Crisis mode and external display adapter didnt work.

I contacted Lenovo support and sent the device in for repair. To my surprise, Lenovo classified it as a chargeable repair (warranty recently expired) and sent me a repair quote for €237.16, even though the issue occurred immediately after installing their official BIOS update!!

I know not everyone experiences this problem, but after searching Reddit I found that I'm clearly not the only one who has had a Legion Go brick after updating to N3CN42WW.

If you're thinking about updating to BIOS N3CN42WW, I would personally recommend waiting until Lenovo addresses these reports.

Reminder for french Smurf : ID check mandatory in 1th January 2027

As adopted by French Parliament, all plateform with social function (like chat, custom name, profile image, custom maps, trading...) need to put this function under an ID check (with France Identité or a private provider like Docaposte).

https://lcp.fr/actualites/interdiction-des-reseaux-sociaux-aux-moins-de-15-ans-ce-que-contient-la-loi-qui-vient-d

In RL , french Smurf need to put them CNI (carte nationale d'identité) to said "GG ez noob" , but can still create a Smurf without chat (the child mode of RL).

Originally only few plateform (not RL) be impacted, with a blacklist , but EU said it's give too many power at national regulator , ARCOM.

It's why Parliament choose to target WHOLE plateform with this, from the free little forum to GAFAM.

New account need the ID check for the 1th September 2026 (can be delayed by EU) , for old account in 1th January 2027 , as mandatory by EU imself , with a system who use eID European system (not a selfie , only gov app like France Identité).

https://digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/fr/policies/eu-age-verification

If it's sad for digital liberty (ID check everywhere, no real privacy) , EU gov do more against toxicity in RL during last 2 years that Epic since F2P 🫪

For you, how many Smurf chose to throw game in chat to avoid ID check ?

Place your bets !
