Why do you have to change your pad/ period underwear when it gets wet?

People say it can give you a uti or some other kind of infection from the moisture/ bacteria if you're wearing a wet pad for a long time, but what difference does it make when you change it every few hours? It's still going to get wet straight away again, so what's the point?

Edit- I got my answer now, ty to everyone who explained!

Took the pill 5 hours later than usual and getting cramps and bleeding

I didn't take it at the usual time today, and after five hours since I was supposed to take it, I started getting cramps. I've been having them all day now, and I've also started bleeding a little. Does that mean I'm going to get my period now? Or is this just gonna last one day?

I really hope I don't have another period, I just finished my last one like 2 days ago.

Can't get over how Feyre's sisters never helped her when they were poor

Every time Elain and Nesta are mentioned, I cannot help but think about how irritating it was that they never did their part when they were struggling with money. The only thing they did was leech the money Feyre made from her after she sold the hide of an animal (that SHE hunted and skinned, NEVER them). They even had the audacity to tell her that they were running out of meat at some point, so that she would go and hunt? Like okayyyy.... GO DO IT YOURSELF. GO LEARN TO HUNT!!! YOU'RE BOTH SO USELESS.

As annoyingly useless as they both were, at least elain was somewhat nice... but Nesta? Not only was she sitting on her butt not doing SHIT but she was also such a bitch to Feyre! Feyre has the patience of a saint, if that were me in the situation I would've eaten that meat right in front of their faces and not shared one morsel.

Excuses that were used in the book:

  1. Nesta was too angry about the situation (and especially the dad for not doing anything or getting a job at least) to help out.

Ummm... hypocrite much? She was ALSO not doing anything to help. You do not have the right to hate someone when you are just like them.

And I agree- the dad was definitely the one who should've pulled his weight more in that situation- he is the parent. But when you're so dirt poor that you don't know if you're going to survive the next season or not- you have to play your part in helping out and keeping the family alive too! If not for the dad, Nesta could've helped for Feyre and Elain.

  1. Elain said that she was never good at that type of stuff (hunting) which is why she never tried (or something like that)

Well... when you're not good at something that you've NEVER done before, you're OBVIOUSLY not gonna be good at it! Feyre described in the first book how long it took her to catch her first animal and how long it took for her to get decent at hunting- she LEARNT to do it. Mind you- she's also the eldest I'm pretty sure???? If that were me, and I claimed to love my younger sister, I would NEVER EVER let her go out into the cold, dark, dangerous woods were human-eating faeries lurked. I would pull my weight!!!!

Another thing that irked me really bad- when Tamlim came to take Feyre away, none of the two sisters bothered to protect her. After the YEARS of her providing and protecting their sorry asses, they only cowered in the corner- and Nesta only Shielded Elain. Are you kidding me????? I was so happy for Feyre when she left. Never for the life of me did I understand why she so badly wanted to go back to her bum ass family. If that were me, I would've been screaming for joy that I was finally out of that selfish family!

I do want to say quickly though- the two sisters did have one slightlyyyyy redeeming moment each:

Elain- when she used her pocket money (wasn't even hers- it was the money that she regularly leeched of off Feyre whenever she sold something, but anyway-) to but Feyre some paint. That was sweet and very unselfish compared to how she usually was.

Nesta- when she went into the forest and tried to cross that wall to get Feyre back. I'm gonna be honest, that seemed SUPER out of character for her when she did it- but nevertheless a nice thing to do.

I can't stand them. I was very upset when I got to the end of book 2 and realised that they would become prominent characters of the series.

(P.S- I read the first book a while ago, so my memory might not be fully accurate, so if I made some mistakes in this rant, don't harrass me for it 🙏)

Really disappointed Feyre never got with Lucien

I always liked their dynamic, how lucien really disliked her at first but was then protective at the end of book one, trying to help her survive, and then how suspicious he was of her in book 3 when she cane back to spring court, just everything tbh. I'm so sad it never happened. I think he's more alluring than rhys. Sue me! I don't find rhys appealing. I would pay big money to read a re-telling of acotar, but with him as the main love interest instead 🤤

Time left in chapter is inaccurate

I read quite slowly, and sometimes I take 5-10 minutes to read a page because I zone out (meanwhile the kindle is still turned on) but then when I go onto the next page, the time left in chapter only decreases by one minute, basically saying that it took me a minute to read the last page, despite it always being longer.

I have reset the reading speed (;ReadingTimeReset) but it's still like this. What do I do to fix it?

Doctor refused to give me a colposcopy because I said I was a virgin

I was referred to a gynaecologist to get a colposcopy done, because the doctor who referred me thought I might have cancer, and when I got to the appointment, the man who was supposed to do it asked if I have had sex, I said no, and he said he couldn't do the colposcopy because of my intact hymen. He ended up just examining my vulva.

Is this okay? I felt really upset that he refused to do one, even though if it turned out that I DID have cancer, that would've been very valuable information for me to have. I don't plan on having sex anytime soon, if ever. Does that really mean that I'm going to be denied these types of examinations??

I can pee 3-4 times in one go

I have bladder problems currently, always feeling like I have to pee. I have been doing the double voiding technique- peeing, getting up for 20 seconds, and peeing again- but that's not enough. I have to pee like 4 times in one bathroom break: pee, stand up, pee, stand up, pee, stand up, and pee again. I don't even drink that much. Why is double voiding not enough?

I'm scared of not emptying fully, because I don't want to get a uti from the bacteria in the leftover pee- but at the same time peeing so many times in one go (which I try to do every 2 hours) is driving me insane. I leave the toilet, press on my bladder lightly, and still feel like it's full.

I was reading a romantasy on my kindle all day yesterday, did absolutely nothing else, and today I started the day off by reading again, but this time I wanted to read something a bit spookier. So far I'm loving it- the horror is subtle and slow, but I can tell that it's building up to something more. So excited to read what happens next hehe. Thank god it's sunny today and it doesn't get dark until like midnight so I'm able to stomach it all day :)

Sometimes the badge shows up, and sometimes it doesn't, for example I had an email come yesterday, and there was no badge, I have to keep manually checking the app. Here are my notifications.

It hurts when I pee and it hurts when I'm not doing anything- for example just sitting down or walking. And it hurts when I'm showering and I'm using a fragrance free, soap, sulphate, colorant free body wash, and it's never given me any problems before, but now it hurts to use it, and makes my vulva itch.

I've had my urine tested, and had my discharge tested too, but it's not showing anything and says everything is fine. What do I do?
