[TOMT][movie][1990s][hitman]

All I remember is a woman who starts sleeping with a hitman (possibly the guy who was sent to kill her). IIRC there's a scene in bed where's she holding his hands and comments on the irony of his hands being so gentle and loving when he could kill her now with his bare hands if he wanted to. I saw it on terrestrial tv UK in the 1990s (we didn't have channel 5).

Prefer books set in the contemporary world

I'm not a fan of romantasy (which is not to say I think there's anything wrong with it, it's just not my cup of tea), how do people find romance books which are set in the real world, and the present? Such books don't seem to have any tags.

[TOMT][court room scene from tv or movie circa the 90s]

Trying to trace a tv show or movie I saw on televison at my parents house (terrestial no channel 5). I was in my teens so 1998-2002 (ish). I remember one scene, in a legal case. A lawyer is in court, he is cross examining an old guy (a witness). He cross examines the old man's statement. The latter keeps consedendingly addressing the lawyer as 'young man'. The old man's statement is that he looked out of his front window, saw something supicious and went to get his glasses from a table and returned to the window to get a closer look. The lawyer says something like "the table is about 15 feet from your window." he recreates the old man walking to the table and back by walking from the dock to behind his own table. He asks the old man to confirm that doing this he would not have had sufficient time to retrieve the glasses and witness whatever he say. The old man says that would be true, however the lawyer walked, whereas the old man ran, something he is still capable of. The lawyer looks at the original statement in disbelief. He asks why the old man didn't say he ran, he replies "you didn't ask young man."

New Organisations

Realistically, how large can a 'new organization' get? (I don't mean when you control other countries, I mean when they are computer controlled) I've never got more than three countries to apply to join.

[TOMT] [Kids TV series US 1990s]

I saw this US tv series in the 1990s. All I remember is this: two boys wanted to see a 3D movie but whatever reason they were banned. There was a montage of photos on the screen with captions that said something like: mission to get into the movie. One of the boys attached a cassette tape to his bedroom door via a plunger of some sort. Whenever his mother knocked on the door, a lightbulb would go on and trigger a prerecorded message ("Mom I'm studying"). Unfortunately the mechanism malfunctions and starts playing a barrage of messages so she opens the door and discovers her son is out. Meanwhile in the cinema the son, possibly bored or remorseful or both, removes his 3D glasses in the cinema and looks downhearted.

Update: It was Mcgee and me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FFF4AGSOq4

[TOMT][film from 1990s]

I saw this extract from a film when I was about 12, which would make it 1996 (it could be a couple of years before or after I'm not sure). It was probably on the BBC late at night. The accents were american.

A topless woman is in bed with a man. She’s on top arching her back. The phone rings. He gets up, walks over to the phone, which was definitely in the same room as the bed, picks it ups and places it off the hook before disconnecting the phone by pressing down the switch. He reassures her the call is not important. He goes back to the bed. They have a conversation. She whispers a suggestion into his ear and lies back on the bed on the pillows before he climbs on her. (At this point I heard my grandmother entering the room so changed the channel!)

Soft power

Does regularly meeting other heads of state do anything to boost soft power? I've attempted to play as Somalia, more or less every nation on earth has negative relations (trade deals and student exchanges are declined, and the country is too broke to have a dedicated year of culture). Can anything be done to break down hostilities with other countries?

Children's tv show from the 1990s

I'm trying to track down a tv show I used to watch in the UK, in the 1990s, as a child. The only detail I remember is it was an art show. The presenter would draw scenarios, involving a character whose name I can't remember in various dilemmas and the children would have to draw solutions. For instance once he drew "x is confronted by a man with a sword, what does he do?" so one child drew a cork on the edge of the sword, another drew a magnet. Sometimes they were more elaborate; a lighthouse had to be disguised to protect it from a lighthouse eating monster, so one child drew mirrors on the lighthouse with lipstick on.

1990s tv movie

I'm trying to track down a movie I saw on tv in the late 90s (or possibly early 00s). All I remember is this:

A man is on the run from someone (not the police or authorities). Whilst in hiding he starts sleeping with a blonde woman called Vera, until in one scene Vera pulls a gun on him; she's a honeytrap working for the people he's hiding from (this was quite a twist as they had slept together several times). The people who are looking for him are in the room when Vera pulls the gun. It was an American movie (given there were f-bombs on top of everything else it must have been a 15 or 18 certificate).
