I think about this scene so much. It's really so fun how JM wove it all in. I'll confess that this is expected Mulaney.

I forget who first ever said they tried making hard boiled eggs in the air fryer, and I thought, "Hold up. Wait a minute." And so I was suddenly on a quest to make "jammy" boiled eggs in the air fryer.
First off, the model of the fryer: Ninja Air Fryer Pro XL 5-Qt, 3-in-1, 400°F Air Crisp Technology, Nonstick Crisper Plate. This operates at 1,750 watts (120 V / 14.6 amps). (In case yours is different.)
I set it for 300 degrees f (149 c) for 9 minutes.
THIS PART IS THE IMPORTANT PART: Set up an "ice bath" with cold water and a bunch of ice cubes. Pull the eggs right out after the beep and right into the ice bath for 10 minutes. (MUST BE 10 MINUTES).
This is the most important part. I tried going too fast, like "maybe 3 minutes in the ice bath is plenty" and I failed.
For whatever reason, the "let them set 10 minutes" finished the cooking of the whites, and leaves the yolks jammy.
PREVIOUS ATTEMPTS FAILED:
I either did too long at 300 degrees and the yolks solidified. Or I did too short a cook time and I had uncooked eggs. (I made maybe 10 mistakes and was down to my last two before I got them perfect.)
Anyhow, that's how I made mine, and I've been able to recreate them 3 times since (that's the only amount of times I tried so far), so I'll call it a full pass.
I'd seen some YouTube shorts, but hadn't really invested any time in the show. I thought, "Well, it's whatever. Cute. Some cool shorts."
But for no reason, I never watched the series. I'm only on S1E6 but wow! The writing, the family dynamics, and I had NO IDEA that Inde Navarrette was on this show. (I didn't see Obsession, but I know folks are saying good things about her for that.)
I feel like, "Dude, what took you so long?" about this show. I loved 2025's Superman. (I also liked Cavill and Routh and Reeve and plenty more folks.) This, though? This is pretty quickly becoming my favorite. That scene in this episode where ...well, I don't want to spoil, but Supes gets mad and his eyes go red when he looks up at folks he thought were on his side? I was like, "Uh oh...."
Anyhow, what a show. Wow.
"I've got a cornfield and uh, looks like a soybean field. Which is gonna be softer?"
Which obscure quotes stick with you?
I had to check my editing 3 times to make sure I hadn't put on a preset, but these are just the raws with straightening and a little tug on the contrast settings. This lens is mystical.
Kippers count, right.
My oldest kid has some snakes and bugs as pets (and lives with their mom and not me), which means we sometimes go to New England Reptile Distributors (N.E.R.D. in Plaistow.) Even if you wanted to take your kids window shopping there (or yourself), it's a pretty fun place to look around. And I learned today (because I'd only visited in the winter months) that the venomous snake room is far more active when it's hot out. So, if you ever wanted to hear a rattlesnake rattle and feel your hairs stand up on your arms, here's your place. (Lots of cool animals there, a nice staff, and they seem very community minded.)
So I have a big day ahead of me , and I noticed in my app that I had 700 points so I figured I would grab a Whopper for breakfast. I knew I wasn't going to get a chance to eat the later in the day lunch or dinner version.
Qq but breakfast Whoppers can be a little bit tricky, and I imagine if you're back there cooking breakfast and someone asks you to put the old lunch Burger on, it's easy to be a little frustrated. But my local place, I was standing there and saw her assemble my burger, and then saw her look at the ceiling for a second, and realize that I had requested Fresh Off The Grill and that's not what she had produced. So I saw her put that sandwich aside and make me a Fresh Off The Grill version . I didn't say anything, she just realized the difference in the order.
And what I was thinking was that not every store would have done something like that. It was a very extra kind of experience . But seeing her do that made me a little bit more happy that the Burger King nearest to me cares about their customer.
I have the bog standard 40mm f2, and that's my only Nikon glass. All the rest are adapted vintage lenses.
I shoot travel, street, people. Nothing fast. No massive zoom required.
Any favorite third party lenses? Bonus if they're smallish.
