I'm not claiming experiences are actually exclusively dreams but I suspect dreams are a window that the Others reach into us. And if you smoke THC everyday you don't dream, certainly not as much as someone who only smokes every once in a while.
Also on the other hand if these experiences are exclusively physical realm I suspect the Others don't visit people with Dogs that would bark and bite.
