New to RCs, and the Lipo battery safety scares me

Not gonna lie, doing all this research for proper lipo battery safety has me super scared. I get they won't spontaneously combust just "because", but it's like 80% posts about people being SUPER careful, and 20% of people saying they've used the same batteries for 15 years with no storage protection or anything.

I’ll use this Bat-Safe for charging and storage. It will sit in the basement mostly away from flammable stuff. I don't have many batteries yet, just three. I have the two smaller 1S batteries each in a bag.

Is there anything I should change or do differently? Am I just being paranoid??

What are my options here?

I'm making this edge around a board, and cut one edge piece slightly too far. I slightly exaggerated the photo to show the issue. I measured about ten times, but cut just a sliver too much.

Besides buying more wood and doing it over, is there anything I can do to fill this gap? Like I said, it's not quite as bad as in the photo, so I was thinking after I secure the wood I could use wood putty maybe? Ultimately I think this will be painted, so you probably wouldn't notice.

Any other ideas I could consider?

UPDATE: Thanks for all the ideas! I ended up trying what a few of you suggested and cut a sliver of trim from an offcut and that will hide it well enough, once it's glued/sanded/painted. Image in a comment below!

Advice and questions - band saw letters

I’m cutting out these letters for a project and I’m coming up on a couple things I’m not sure about how to handle. (I’m a bit of a beginner.)

First, my initial plan was to add a little bit of a round over on the edges of the letters. Using a router wouldn't work as is (see the photo with the N letter). The angle is way too acute for a router to do anything in those tight corners. Is there another method I could consider? Or should I instead just use sand paper and not do much round over other than slight softening of the edges with sand paper?

Second, I have to cut out the center holes for some of the letters and I only have a band saw, no scroll saw. You can see in the second picture a test I made. I drilled a few holes and used the hand cutting saw shown. The results are pretty gross (at least compared to how nice and clean the band saw cut is). I’m sure I could sand it, but some of the holes in the letters will be super tight to work in. (The letter A for example.)

So my question is - should I actually just cut the letters cleanly in half (or whatever is optimal) on the band saw? Then I could cut out the inside holes with the band saw (and to the first point maybe use a router for rounding the edges). Then glue it back together.

But what I’m curious about is after gluing these back up, how noticeable would it be that they've been cut in half? I suspect less noticeable than the gross looking cuts I made in my test. They will eventually be painted (it's for a school and they want bright colors). So that might make it completely not noticeable in the end.

Thanks in advance!

Hum bracket time

I’m seeing this make the rounds. Some impossible matchups. (Also the website is a little janky and has some non-Hum artists that sneak in there.)

Since people will ask, I used this site: https://musiccup.net

How would you raise this pedal?

Tiny pedal (Donner Jet Convulsion) sits between two Boss pedals and it's tricky to press it without "fat footing" one of the other ones.

I could add some sort of riser for it? Or I’ve been looking at the Mooer pedal caps, but not sure if that give it much extra height. It would make the surface area of the switch bigger, but not sure that would fix the problem. I could give more space on either side, but I want/need it to be a bit compact.

Any tips would be great!

Digging out my old Earth Day 2000 shirt, when my old band played with Centaur!

I meant to post this on Earth Day, but couldn't find it. Good memories.

Looking for voice lessons in CU

Is there anywhere in town to take singing lessons as an adult? I've tried doing some general searches, but I haven't found anything specifically for adults.

It could be through a company, or if there is anyone who is a teacher and available for new students that would be fine too.

Is it possible to rate an album the same day?

I searched and saw a 6yo post about this, but thought I'd bring it up again.

I'd love the ability to rate an album on the same day. After I'm done listening to it and it's fresh in my mind, I'd love to put my rating in. For now, I'm using the "Listening Notes" box. I don't think I'd ever forget my rating by the next day, but I would love to rate it right away after listening.

I'm usually good about listening on the same day, but on occasion I let my history pile up and it's awesome to listen to an older album from a few days ago and rate it immediately.

Anyway, just a thought!
