Stuck between a rock and a hard place, it’s really slim pickins when it comes to our democracy isn’t it?

Given the current state of the country, it makes me think that we are stuck between a rock and a hard place. My political stance is quite centrist so I criticise both the sides equally.

The education minister should absolutely resign. People can also point out the specific policies that they are against. But instead they’re just slandering the current pm. I would like to ask these people who exactly do they think will replace the current govt? The nepo cry baby who is the crown prince of congress who wants to sell out the govt by religion based reservation smh!? He is such a man child and I would never vote for him.

That being said I’m not blind towards the lapses in freedom of speech that has occurred. As an artist I find it really very demeaning to reduce people’s voices. To slander any criticism and call it anti national is not the ideals that this country was based upon. However to pretend that blind radicalisation of youth isn’t happening is also misguided. There’s a reason why European countries are turning the tide on certain immigrants from the Middle East. It’s because their cultural norms are regressive and not conducive to democracy. Most Hindu voters are stuck with voting for Modi because say what you must, his foreign policy is one of his strongest suits. He just doesn’t miss.

But I also fee that the correct government has smelled this hopelessness in the general public and instead of doubling down on progress, they have served their own political agenda more than anything. It may sound blunt but this is the dilemma most moderate voters face. We don’t want gundaaraaj and we don’t want a failed nepotism baby and we also don’t want a fundamentalist regressive state.

I think long and hard about this often and I have no clear solution that comes to my mind, just a deep sadness for the extent of systemic rot in our state.

What’s a good and safe location in Vasai West for rent? 26F

Hi all! I’m looking to move to Vasai to escape an emotionally abusive house. I can afford rent up to 10-12k max. Would really love to know if there are potentially safe and quiet areas in Vasai West which is closer to the station since my coaching centre job will be near the railway station. Thanks

How to do malas in one sitting? What can I do to better my posture, asthma and thirst while chanting?

I find it really difficult to even sit for 16 Mala sankalps. I usually break it into 4 sets of 4 and have to stretch in between malas to complete my count. How do you all space out your malas? Even if I stretch it to 6 continuous malas, I usually break down crying either because of overwhelming emotions or physical discomfort. My leg also goes to sleep often and I have to shake it off to continue.

I’ve also read everywhere that agarbatti and good incense is very important during Sadhna but I start hyper ventilating and I have noticed that the smoke makes it much harder for me to carry on. I keep a glass of water next to me for thirst but I want to depend less on it.

What can I do to better my stillness, emotional downpours and thirst while chanting?

Are there any fellow gluten free Mumbaikars? What are your fav gf products/places and what gf products do you wish existed in the city?

I’ve been gluten free for 3 years now and I’ve imported bread from London through relatives and it’s really made me crave for good sourdough in Mumbai. Are there any bakeries that do good loaves?

I love that Veronica’s and Smoked house deli have gluten free options but would love to hear about other restaurants that might have good gf dishes on their menus.

16 Thursday Tara Sadhna fast during periods

Hi all! I’m halfway through my 16 Thursday Tara Sadhna and I am skipping this week due to my cycle. Should I still observe a fast or skip that as well? I do a strict water fast for the day which I break only after I complete the puja. However today I am feeling weak. I can push through the discomfort but will not observing the fast break the chain?

Need help. How to sway college authorities who are ruining my chances at a degree

I need some Upasana, puja recommendations that can be done in a week in order to secure my degree. I am enrolled in a central govt college but my candidature ends this month and they are not accepting my thesis project. According to guidelines they should have notified me about my thesis expiry 6 months ago and since no notification was sent to me I assumed it was still valid. Now they are shrugging me off, not considering my case.

I am doing the 16 Thursday Tara Sadhna recommended. I come from an adverse childhood and had worked very hard to get into this central govt college. My absent dad had committed suicide and my mom was emotionally, verbally and sexually abusive towards me. I used to love in my ancestral maternal grandfathers house and that has been in a redevelopment dispute since 2018. Unfortunately I had to move in with my uncle who was again emotionally Abhi’s I’ve bordering on physical abuse. My grandmother who was a parent figure passed away in June last year.

My aunt who raised me has been battling cancer since 2018. I enrolled in 2018 and legally i could be with the institute for 8 years. This project is supposed to start in our last term but in 2022 and 2023 i didn’t even have a laptop. On top of that i was crippled with depression, an autoimmune condition and constant harassment about me not having a house by my uncle. Because of covid i had to move back in 2020 and since my family has very toxic ways of coping with any emotion I was unable to concentrate on my studies and block out their toxicity like I did in my childhood.

I worked from a 24x7 library staying out all day to complete my project. I was steadily getting out depression when my grandmother was hospitalised and she passed away last year. What followed is an extreme depression with major panic attacks. My college didn’t warn me that the thesis i had registered expires in Jan 2026 and that I need to re register. Because of this when I tried to submit it this month they denied it. There is just one last step remaining for me to get my degree.

Is there any puja that can be done to sway them. I am contacting a lawyer as well but if they can grant me an extension on their own, it would be great. Please help.

Central Gov College NID denying final year Jury at the end of 8-year term. no official warning sent for registration.

Hey everyone, I am facing an absolute administrative nightmare and a massive career crisis. I need urgent advice on how to handle this or if I have solid grounds for a High Court Writ Petition.
Context:
I am a student at a Central Government Institute (NID Haryana). My maximum residency period of 8 years is ending this month (June 2026). I belong to a batch heavily disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Crisis:
My final Graduation Project (GP) is 100% complete and fully ready for evaluation. We are supposed to submit a thesis in our final year for graduation. I do not need an extension to do more work, I literally just need a final jury date scheduled so I can present my work and graduate.
However, the academic branch is indicating that my time is up.

No Warnings/Notifications: The college never sent a single official mail, automated alert, or notification stating that my project timeline was expiring or that I needed a mandatory re-registration. I was left completely in the dark until the final month.

Past Precedents: On paper, the project is 24 weeks, but NID routinely gives past pandemic-affected batches up to 1 to 1.5 years to finish deliverables, and 1.5 years was the bestowed timeline for the batches that went through COVID 19. They are now selectively enforcing the strict timeline on me at the absolute finish line without warning.
My Current Status:
I have all 7 semesters completely cleared with passing marksheets. My final project is completely done. All communications with my unresponsive guide are documented via official NID emails.
The faculty has verbally told me not to visit campus in person.

My Questions for the Community:
Does the lack of official notification/warning from a central institute violate the Principles of Natural Justice enough to secure an urgent Interim Order/Stay from the High Court?
If I have to file a Civil Writ Petition (CWP) at the Punjab and Haryana High Court (Chandigarh) this week, how fast can a lawyer get an urgent listing before June 30th?
Has anyone dealt with autonomous central institutes (like NIDs/IITs/NITs) blocking a completed degree over internal communication breakdowns? How did you resolve it?
Any advice, lawyer recommendations in Chandigarh, or past precedents would be a lifesaver. Thank you.

My life has been beyond ruthless and I’m helpless. I feel like giving up

I’m out of sticks and stones in trying to get to a secure place in life. I used to be a really hard working kid, with top of the class grades all the way up to college. I got selected in one of the top most govt design institutes on my first attempt itself and was doing fine until COVID hit. Life has not been the same ever since.
The thing is that despite my best attempts to thrive in my life, I had the misfortune of having an abusive, sick woman as my mother. To say that she was malicious would be undermining her capacity for evil. She was also very well educated but things went south when she was married to my dad who was schizophrenic and my paternal relatives basically lied to my maternal side resulting in a fraudulent marriage. I was already conceived by the fourth month and my mother wanted to abort me but my grandfather advised against it and assured her that I will be raised in his house.
My abusive mother was never able to get past the bitterness and treated me as a punching bag to vent out all her frustrations. She never saw me as her child, but as an easy target. She would hurl foul language towards me even though I was exceptionally well behaved. She abused me sexually, verbally, physically by hitting me with utensils etc and also her 5 other siblings by biting them and lashing out at least twice a month. This went on for 20 years, yes that’s how horrible it was. Every attempt at being independent, was slashed because of her malice. Like I enrolled myself in the choir in second grade where I felt relief from all the abuse but she specifically went to talk to my class teacher to sign me out so that it wouldn’t be an issue to her. Countless attempts at my joy were squandered because of her narcissism. She body shamed me and accused me of having sexual relations with her brothers when she would get manic when they never did anything.
My maternal grandpa passed away three years after her marriage and my grandma took care of me while this malicious woman ran around town portraying herself as a single sorry mother while being an absolute monster to her kid. My maternal uncles mad aunts couldn’t throw her out of the house, nor get her any kind of psychiatric help. She would coerce them by holding me as a collateral. She threw oil at herself to commit suicidal and dragged me in as a 8 year old to die with her. Such were her tantrums.
Inspite of all this I cleared my govt exam and got into the college I always wanted only to come back home because of COVID. My aunt who had been my moral support and grown into the role of parent figure, got cancer. That was the first blow to my grit. Everything I believed in started to crumble. One of my maternal uncles who and been supportive of me turned on me and started to use me as a punching bag. This guy owns the house that we live in and is basically the patriarchal head of the family so this time no one came to my defence. At least with my mother they out called her wrong doings. And on top of that my father committed suicide when I was in my 9th grade.
I would attend online classes and mind my business when he would barge in from the other side of the room and bang my laptop shut. He would scrutinise me countless times for existing, like using clingfilm, the fan etc. this time I was beyond traumatised and too exhausted to fight back. 20 years of hard work gone to dust. I started falling into a deep pit of hopelessness. It’s been 6 years. And no one in our joint family spoke up in my denge se. What hurts even more than my abusive mother were the lies that were used to shield me. They said they’d have my back but all they do is use me as project to show the world how to good they are and pat themselves on their back without even putting 5 percent of the work. I’m fucked from all angles.
Now here I am, still not graduated. I have chronic depression with an autoimmune disorder which has me stuck in a vicious loop. I was more than qualified for applying to jobs back in 2022 but my paranoid mind convince me that I am worthless and I didn’t apply anywhere. I fell into a very bad relationship and after that breakup, I had very little fight left in me. I am getting therapy under two doctors, my self preservation is high so I will never act on hurting myself but I have fallen into passive nihilism.
Please help me.
