Is it true or a hoax?
I've heard that if an person after death does not receive proper antim-sanskaar, their soul does not liberate/carry forward to the next birth. But don't we, irrespective of the method of final rites, return to nature after death?
Truth or hoax?
Gayatri Mantra japa causing intense automatic repetition and restlessness. Is this normal?
Hi everyone, I need some guidance from experienced sadhakas.
I regularly chant the Gayatri mantra mentally (2 rounds of 108 daily). Lately, it feels like the mantra has taken over my subconscious, but not in a peaceful way. The word "prachodayat" just loops non-stop in my mind all day long on autopilot.
Along with this constant mental looping, I’ve been feeling a huge surge of frustration, random anger, and just a lot of restless energy that I don't know what to do with. It feels like a pressure cooker situation in my head.
Is this a normal phase of cleansing/purification, or am I overdoing it? Should I stop the japa for a bit, or is there a specific way to ground this energy? Any advice would be highly appreciated.
Can I read this book?
I am new to tantra sadhana and don't have any guru pls help
How to find a guru?
My age is 18 M
I have been researching sadhana for more than a year
I got confused whenever I try to find my guru
Whether it's the right age or not ?
Do I even want a guru or not ?
I don't know how to find a guru can anybody help?
I need some guidance regarding a situation.
I live on the top floor of my house. Our neighbours used to have access to one of our terraces because it was connected to their floor, and we had no problem letting them use it.
On that terrace, we have several plant pots. A few months ago, my neighbour (an aunty) placed a small Shivling in one of the pots and used to perform daily puja there. I personally saw her doing Abhishek and worshipping it many times.
Two days ago, they permanently moved out of the house, but the Shivling is still there on our terrace.
I’m unsure what the appropriate thing to do is according to Hindu traditions. Should I continue taking care of it, try to contact them to collect it, or is there a proper way to respectfully relocate or immerse it if they don’t come back?
I’m looking for guidance based on traditional practices. Thank you.
[Potential Birth Chart] Gandivadhari Arjuna, Part 1: The chart
Caution: I ain't no expert in astrology, I'm not claiming I'm the best, I am the most authentic, I am 100% correct. I am just a student of Astrology, and it takes me great joy to experiment with things. I'm sharing these with the sole purpose of getting in contact with other experienced astrologers with whom I can work together, research, and come up with the planetary charts of the Mahabharat characters. Since this is very ancient, a bunch of references from information are accepted mainly.
_________________________________________________________________________________
To get the approximate birth time of Arjun, the first thing I used for reference was Shri Krishna's commonly accepted birth date, which is June 24, -3227 (3228 BCE)
Now it's commonly accepted that Arjun was approximately 6-9 months younger than Shri Krishna, so the range becomes December -3227 (3228 BCE) to March -3226 (3227 BCE).
Since the month range was fixed, I searched of more information so that I can reduce it further.
The Mahabharat text mentions that Arjun's birth took place in the month of Phalguna, with lagna and moon being in uttara phalguni (26 degree '40 leo to 10 degree '10 virgo), and during Phalguna purnima.
Purnima means that the sun and the moon are 7 houses apart from each other. So if I were to choose the moon in late Leo degree than sun has to be in late Aquarius degree, and if I were to choose the moon in early Virgo degree than sun has to be in early Pisces degree.
So the next step was to figure out which of these two was the best option.
The best way to understand the answer to this is by looking at the relationship dynamics between Shri Krishna and Arjuna. Shri Krishna was Arjun's closest friend, guide, and protector. Arjun, in turn, was the one whom Shri Krishna trusted the most. Both are commonly referred to as Nar Narayan, as their bond was an example of pure friendship.
True friendships only form when one's mind is compatible with another's. For this, I looked at the moon. Shri Krishna moon is in Taurus, earth-sign. If I were to choose the moon sign of Leo for Arjun, then while both Taurus and Leo are fixed/strong signs, Leo would add pride, ego, and royalty within the personality of Arjuna, and so the relationship becomes more friction-filled.
On the other hand, Taurus and Virgo are both earth signs, making the bond more practical, loyal, stable, service-oriented, and skill-based.
Ascendant is Virgo, moon is in Virgo > 10 degree U Phalguni, which means Sun is in pieces > 10 degree.
What I did now was from Shri Krishna's birthdate, June 24, -3227 (3228 BCE) I first went to the next year to find a date when the sun enters pieces
The date when the sun enters pieces is 31/12/-3227 (3228 BCE) at 19:32:00.
During this, the moon was in Taurus, so I had to increase the day till it reached the sign of Virgo at 0 degrees.
Finally, I just had to adjust the timing so that the ascendant becomes Virgo, Moon, and lagna remains in U Phalguni. Resulting in:
09/01/-3226 18:00:00 to 18:40:00
This was the Panchang during his birth
Why do I personally think this is it?
- There is a clear 6-month difference
- Phalguna month (though it is believed to come in Feb-March), is completely valid to be in January, as in the past seasons and rotation were different. Sun in pieces happens to be in the middle of the Phalguna month when it's the Shukla paksha.
-Any other date after this, the next time Shukla Paksha comes, Sun would be in Aries, and so the condition of Purnima would not be satisfied
-If we look at the panchang, it's Vriddhi yoga, which is very auspicious, and the Karana is Bava, which is represented by the lion and ruled by Indra dev, who is the one whom Kunti and Pandu invoked, leading to the birth of Arjun. Occasionally, it's mentioned that this karan is also ruled by Shri Hari Vishnu.
-Another interesting thing is if we consider Shri Krishna June 24, -3227 (3228 BCE) and Arjun January 9, -3226 (3227 BCE) and add their birth dates to single digit, Shri Krishna 24 becomes 2+4 =6, and Arjun 9 remains 9. The numbers 6 and 9 are incredibly harmonious. 6 = energy of Venus, 9 = energy of Mars. 6 softens 9, and 9 energizes 6.
Just look at how powerful the 2nd, 4th, 10th, and 11th houses are.

If any astrologer is keen on exploring this and wants to see the divisional charts, feel free to do so. In the second part, I will explore the placements of planets.

Need guidance
Hello.I am not born into Hinduism but I've always had a deep calling towards it.Of late my life life has been turbulent and testing.I had a dream with Vishnu in it and the words Vishnu sahasranamam. After which Chamunda Devi is a constant thought occurring to me,I had to Google her to understand further.I wish to learn how to pray since I read chanting her mantra should not be done on my own.Can someone guide me? Should I actively look for a guru or will a guru appear at the right time?
Remedy to chant Om and Beej mantra without initiation. You just have to add a Nipaat.
For example, Om Namah Shivaay and Om Gam Ganapataye Namah, Om Kleem Krishnaay Namah, etc. You just have to add a Nipaat like Cha, Api, Iti, Tathaa, Eva etc. Like Om Namah Shivaaya Cha, Om Gam Ganapataye Nama Iti, Om Kleem Krishnaay NamasTatha. etc.
My guru told me and this is highly discussed and well known fact for deeksha mantra. Because Beej mantra are very harsh, but Nipaat takes the harsh overpowering energy and controls it, Nipaat even means "dropping". Because Nipaat are considered to be "dropped" , as in the sentence can still make sense if you remove or add them, Nipaat therefore allow you to get powers of Beej mantra and Pranava (Om) , without changing the meaning and takes the Beejakshar mantra's energy and drops it.
The reason why this has to be done is because, mantra have a structure. Om Namah Shivaaya, has to be chanted exactly like "Om Namah Shivaaya" , but because Om and Beejakshar require guru and initiation, so their energy becomes unstable or too much to control. But Nipaat drops that energy overflow along with itself. So "Om Namah Shivaaya Cha", still allows to chant the full mantra required according to structure (Om Namah Shivaaya structure), but Nipaat is dropped technically so it allows use of same mantra and structure without changing anything.
This is known in the vidya of mantras. Because words like Vicche, Vaushat, Vashat, Phat, Visphrem, Sphrem, Hum, Hum Phat, and sometimes Shraushat (Shraushat can be used for Devatas but is mostly used for Pitrs), these words don't have a meaning by themselves, but how mantras are structured required you to know where these parts of mantra is to be used and where to apply. For example, Svaha and Namah are also similar mantra-parts, Namah is most used and Svaha is also used. But with Svaha mantra it requires to give ahuti to Yajna, because it is Svaha. Namah technically doesn't have a meaning, but it's surface level meaning means "Praying".
Some Nipaat that are regular are Cha, Iti, Tatha, Api, Eva, Hi, Tatah. These are enough. And always add them in end. Honestly, you would also have to take care of Sandhi too, For example "Om Namah Shivaaya" -> "Om Namah Shivaaya Cha", but "Om Kleem Krishnaay Namah" -> "Om Kleem Krishnaay NamashCha". It is actually very easy, Sandhi is not that hard. But usually these 2 are the only variation with Cha, so Cha is pretty safe.
Earlier all various concepts like Chhand, sandhi, shabda, pada, nipaat, were known as natural understanding, but recently people know these grammar rules very less and fear that it is hard to learn, whereas it is so easy and inherent understanding. As you know mantra has Rishi, Chhand and Devata, because afterall mantra are spoken in words so it is important to know about Chhand and basic grammar and sandhi rules. Nipaat is one of most important and widely used words, throughout mantra tantra and scriptures, and were made to enhance the meaning of words without affecting the sentence. So chanting Beej mantra with Nipaat is very important. Chanting without Beej mantra or Om (Pranav) such as Namah Shivaay, it has limited benefits, this is why it takes so much time or feels hollow. It works, but it removes the very structure of Beejakshar and Om, but because we need something to drop the ugra energy, so the only option becomes using Nipaat words.
Doubt regarding Shravana Shiva pooja
I want to take sankalpam for Shiva Pooja in the Shravana month from Aug 13th. I want to do either Rudrajapam with Laghunyasam or one mala of Maha Mrityunjay Mantra for every day of Shravana.
How do I choose which one to do?
For my nitya pooja I do Shiva Kavacham. I also do daily sadhana as per my deeksha of Guru, Ganapati, Bala and Chandi Navakshari mantras.
Can I perform sadhana or upasana of a Devata at home but not visit temples?
I have not taken deeksha before and I don't have a Guru.
Can I perform sadhana or upasana of a Devata at home but not visit temples?
Why I am asking this is that sadhana or upasana if done daily can take up to a few hours. As a working adult in overseas country, most temples are far away from my home.
Hence, I was wondering if performing sadhana or upasana at home is sufficient for spiritual progress.
Will I still able to progress spiritually by doing so?

Question Regarding kuldevta
Hi 👋, I want to know if dharmraj nd yamraj are the same diety or different . Actually I'm a maithil brahmin ( dharmraj ji is a very common kuldevta among maithil brahmins ,we call him dharmraj baba)nd he is my kuladevta , but I am not able to figure out definitely if he is same as yama , some sources define him same as yama ,son of surya nd god of justice, some other sources say that he's a folk diety , not related to vedic yama , it'd would be really helpful if somebody could tell his actual lore , nd how can one offer simple worship to him , if you are thinking nd going to suggest that I should ask my family nd relatives , please don't do that as I've already asked them , even they are not completely sure ,nd also I dont live there anymore , I've gone to my village only 4-5 times in my whole life . Please guide 🙏
