im 5'3" and wasian. i have no idea how to wear clothes or look for masculine clothing that fit me. i'm 5-6 months on T, i tried looking up clothing advice but it seems to focus a lot on white trans men/masculine people.
is there any advice you guys can give me?
i wanna move away from big tech as much as possible. i've used iphones for 10 years now. my pc runs arch linux, i really like the idea of customizing my devices and modifying them and really owning the devices. my main focuses are things like, general ease of use, reliability and customization.
what mobile options do i have?
i'm trying to build my own local hosted fitness app/watch combo that takes the data from the watch & saves it locally on my home lab. it's such a pain to navigate around iOS software tho eugh
its been four years since my top surgery and im roughly 5 months on t! & im happier than ive ever been! things do change and anyone struggling rn will find their people and get through it together! it may not be easy but it is worth it, keep goin! and i love u all 🫶
i replied to a post on twitter with something pretty aggressive because i dont care to debate people who "dont support trans ppl but it doesnt mean im right wing".
and its really funny because someone tried to reply and say, "yeah you guys never wanna debate all u do is resort to violence and insults". like, why do people think all this stuff is "debates" and not real life that affect real people? its so funny to me when they're all high & mighty about their "debates" because they're not being aggressive and """"hostile"""". like okay, you think its just cute thought expirement. okay.
im thinking about making a youtube channel to show how tech can be done in a solarpunk way.... i think its a really good idea to share
i finally set up a way to sync my notes between my two admin pcs. the only one that needs it now is my phone. im not trying to rush them at all! im sure theres things they cant change with the dev time. im just trying to share my excitement for it!!

as someone who is biracial (white/vietnamese) i struggle with bouncing between "i dont owe them my labor of explaining racism" and "well im half white id rather do it than some other brown person".
im so very aware that this is a privilege to complain about it but-
i hate explaining racism 101 to white people, i hate explaining the systems and history to them when they did it. it's an evil thing to make the victim explain the result to the perpetrator. Im tired of it i just want to exist around people i dont owe explinations too or hold hate in their heart because im not fully white. but at the same time id rather do it than have somebody else. i know ill put myself in front of other black & brown ppl at a protest but at the same time im still scared bc im still something they hate.
idk im just more venting and rambling but im just tired of it. id rather let cool white people explain it but sometimes im the only one there who can. ://
I found this cool book at my local library n bought it for like $5. it was published in the 1980s so it's dated but it's interesting to see what ppl thought at the time! sheds a lot of light on what latin americans and east asians were going through but doesn't discuss african nations too much unfortunately. still overall a cool book to read!
I found a group that encourage tech literacy in local communties and adapt solutions towars the community! They focus huge on digital privacy and I think it's a great group to support and encourage local institutions to look into reaching out to them!

i'm trying to be visibly queer in tech fields and i know there's a lot of other queer bipocs that are either interested in tech or are already in tech & i was thinking about making a subreddit so we can all find community in such a harsh field.
are there good subreddits like that or is it worth it?

i have two external drives, ones a 3tb hdd and the other is a 2tb ssd. i was thinking of turning my pi into a NAS for my backups of all of my files.
i'm unsure what to do about the external drives. i was thinking about putting them into my NAS or my proxmox server but i've heard that there are disks of data corruption & other risks.
my proxmox server has a monitoring vm, a cloud service, cloud storage (like immich & file browser), hosting gaming servers, & media like jellyfin and music. i feel like i'm wasting 5tb if i just leave the external drives lying around lol.
i'm using my macbook air m1 to local host my models for now because i'm broke (def planning to upgrade later on).
i plan to use the model for coding and managing my home lab as well as learn. I don't wanna use too much AI in case it becomes a cruch but I think it's good to learn from them.
ideally i'd like one thats fast but i can have one version for non lab things and another for lab things!
