How do I report misconduct of a therapist / PsyD?

I was screening a therapist today and she asked me to commit insurance fraud with her if I wanted to be her client.

I don’t have concrete proof obviously but I took notes of the conversation.

I reported this to my insurance company, but don’t know anything about licensing or oversight in my state (Maryland).

If anyone is familiar please let me know

Cocktail attire seems to skew casual for the younger crowd

I had a really lovely wedding this weekend at a gorgeous indoor venue this past weekend in a major city. We were blessed with amazing weather, and the food was fantastic. It all went off without a hitch but I have to say… the younger crowd really bungled the dress code.

Really my only gripe with the whole thing is that very few of the 20-30 crowd understood what cocktail attire is. My dressy casual rehearsal dinner featured nicer, more put together looks than my cocktail wedding.

At the actual wedding, one of my friend’s husbands wore jeans. A lot of my friends and wore dresses with terrible low quality and thin fabric and some of which which featured totally ridiculous slits. One young woman wore workwear which was boring but comparatively speaking appropriate.

I thought I was being an accommodating bride by having a cocktail dress code and that I’d get to see my friends looking fancy and beautiful but so many people utterly missed the mark that I wish I went for a formal dress code.

I hope I don’t come off as an ass for posting this. I am so grateful it went well. But I was really surprised by how bad so many people dressed. The 40+ crowd did fine however.

Bad gift givers

This post is going to make me sound like an ungrateful ass, but I feel like complaining so I’ll try to articulate myself anyway.

I really try to get people gifts that they will like and that are not too wasteful. If I don’t know someone that well, I am more likely to get them a nice consumable gift for the holidays (fancy hot chocolate, chocolates, seasonal candies, tea, etc.).

My in laws are lovely people but they give terrible gifts. It’s always weird home decor or tiny breakable decorative trinkets I have no use for. Or an ugly cheap multicolor scarf that matches nothing in my wardrobe which inevitably I will donate. Or a stack of books completely irrelevant to my interests. I just don’t get it. It’s ok to not know me that well, but then why get me such oddly specific gifts?

Why do these people think I want them to decorate my house? I don’t like their taste, and I have enough of my own random trinkets causing clutter as it is.

Also if I see them I am traveling and multiple times I have been given weird dishware sets which are a big pain in the ass to pack or I straight up don’t have room for them in my apartment so I just feel guilty for offloading them elsewhere.

I set up a gift registry for our wedding and one of my in laws got us a gift card for a random camping gear website rather than, idk, buying the specific essentials we actually listed on our registry. How is it that we tell you exactly what we want and you still struggle with this?

Did I mess up the dress code?

My mom just started giving me a hard time for our dress code.

For context, we could have gotten away with formal or BTO for the wedding, but we decided to make the dress code cocktail because we didn’t want to put a huge burden on people, especially younger folks traveling and on a budget (my friends). Our parents and their friends are relatively well off. Also I think cocktail is gorgeous anyway.

My understanding of BTO was that it was either formal or black tie, and guests have the choice. What I didn’t realize is that cocktail can be included in BTO. So according to my Mom I have robbed her and others of the ability to get super swanky if they want to.

To make matters worse, according to her, the wedding party isn’t following the dress code. The bridesmaids and groomsmen are in formal attire, and my future husband decided to go for a tuxedo, and I think the Dads are going to wear tuxes as well.

Idk man, I thought it was normal for the wedding party to be at least one level of formal above the rest. We decided on cocktail months before my fiance decided upon buying a nice tux. No one is going to bat at eye at me for wearing a fancy dress, so will they really care about the groom wearing a tux??

Let me know if I’m misunderstanding the situation

Ice machine in freezer makes black ice. Why?

My father complains of weird taste for the water dispenser but got the run around from the fridge company.

I opened the ice box and didn’t see anything unusual except for some black ice cubes. Maybe 1 out of every 30.

wtf?

Mild dress regret - but here we are!

I love the details in this dress but I really regret picking this style.🤷‍♀️ there was another simpler dress I feel like I should have gone with but it’s way too late now.

The sample dress looked way better on me than the one in my size because the bodice fits my body pretty differently. I managed to get it altered and lined which improved things substantially, but the boning is still this Blegh nude color which doesn’t match my skin tone. Somehow it wasn’t obvious when I tried on the sample either.

Sigh! What’s done is done. I don’t love it and I don’t hate it. But it will all be fine! I’m looking forward to the wedding and being married :)
