I have never travelled solo but as I got older and friends got lesser, i felt it's a much needed evolution i should have.

But it scares me. I know as an independent woman, I should not want to have a man or a friend around on a trip but it does feel much safer.

This thought popped into my head because I came on a vacation after a long time and really felt it could have been sooner if I feel a bit more confident

Heyy. So I tried posting here a few weeks ago but i didn't follow up extensively.

I turned 30 last week, and now it has really started to hit me and my family that I should lock a partner.

A few important things about me. I am originally from Delhi and both my parents are very educated. My dad is a professor. I got the best possible education and growing up I was a bright student as well. I don't have a sibling as well.

I come from a well off family so not really looking to marry ultra rich. I have had a few offers but those were really problematic.

I have been staying in Bangalore for the past 8 years since my first job and I really really love this city. I have a very very strong preference and inclination to stay in this city only.

I have done my MBA as well and am working in a leadership role at an MNC in Bangalore - earning close to 55 CTC. Ideally I would want my partner in the same range

I am a Hindu Brahmin, but i don't believe in any kind of caste supremacy. My parents would however prefer a guy from same caste.

I love traveling and have a close knit of friends who have always been my support system.

Last but not the least - an issue which has been a problem when I have met some of the guys offline for marriage purposes as well - i have been in a few relationships but unfortunately those didn't work out. I have been really focussing on myself and my career for the past 2 years.

I have tried to be as honest as I can be. If any specific relevant question exists, I would be happy to be transparent.

I am 5'3 btw, fair complexion, educated and a big bollywood fangirl.

2. Preference to settle in Bangalore

I have been looking to get into an arranged marriage setup for the past few months. I am posting this question because I have always been a bright student, and because of the lovely family I have, I got some really good opportunities in life due to which I am doing really well at a professional level.

But this has sort of become a roadblock in looking for a groom. Most people are not at the same level in terms of pay, and even if they are, i can already sense them being a bit insecure.

Any advice on this would be appreciated

Men are great at pretending to be great in initial days and slowly showing true colors as the time passes by.

My question is are there signs or a single question women can ask to cut through the persona that the guy is trying to project and see clearly through him.

Quick example - this weekend I met a guy at a wedding, he was a friend of a friend and seemed Decent. But the moment he got a bit drunk, the way he was looking at and talking about women including me - it was really triggering

This is for the men of this sub, or if you think you express a viewpoint for a larger section of men.

First - i completely understand these filters are a personal choice and everyone is entitled to his/her opinion.

I am posting here to understand the thought process of men who are so obsessed with past relationships.

If someone is not in touch with their past experiences, why does it matter?

Also do note that I have met some great guys who were broadly minded and okay with the past. But in the end, this topic is always on their mind.

What's most weird is that all these men would be super interested in being friends or having a casual thing. And at that all these things won't matter. It's so messed up

I am currently earning 55 LPA, and would prefer someone at a similar level. Very happy to share responsibilities across every walk of life.

I am a quiet person in general but get very chatty when I am with my friends. I have one very close best friend whose approval is also very very important to me.

I know things are not ideal but just in case they were then I am looking to get married this year and having one kid within 3 years.

3. Preferably North Indian but if South Indian - he should be against this language nuisance going on

4. Okay to relocate if there is a huge upside but first preference is Bangalore only

I don't know where or how to start, but I am very particular about my hygiene.

I wear sleeveless tops or kurtis because of sheer comfort. The air flow is so much better.

But i have come across a few guys on dates who get kinda obsessed with the fact that I wear sleeveless every day.

I cannot believe a guy on a date actually asked how often i wear sleeveless and do I keep my armpits always clean.
