Learned about ads because they used to manufacture speakers in the town my mom's family grew up in. But almost every speaker made in Massachusetts was part of the original line that included the L810, and only manufactured the later L880 for a short period in Massachusetts before relocating to California. So Finding a decent set made in Massachusetts for less than a solid grand was almost impossible. Until these popped up in a local goodwill in NC for some reason. Almost cried when I first plugged them in. They sound absolutely incredible
Also found these right after. Litteraly one of my dream speakers just sitting at a thrift store. My life has peaked
Sub is 18" dayton audio driver in an 8 cubic foot box.
Still a work in progress, but finally got it EQed and property set up to see how it sounds and jesus christ, its amazing. First sub build ive done and I dont think ill ever buy a name brand sub again. It literally makes the shops drop ceiling tiles jump in their frames
Dayton Audio UMII18-22 with a NX3000D amplifier. Box is 8 cubic feet sealed, with 1.5in thick mdf walls. Still adding the wood trim, and a better paint job. But other than that my baby is finally done after weeks of planning and saving up to buy everything. Could not be happier with how it sounds
Wanted to make a sub that could 10hz, but also pair well with my B&W ASW2500. I used a dayton audio Ultimax II 18in driver, and a NX3000D amplifier. To diminish the box resonance as much as possible, all sides are 1.5in of MDF, and the base is 2 1/4in. Internal volume of the box is 8 cubic feet before the driver and fill. Instead of window bracing, I decided to try somthing a little different a used threaded steel rods and massive washers to anchor the walls as much as possible. As of now the thing weighs almost 300 pounds, and can vibrate the conduit on the ceiling inside the machine shop wearhouse lmfao.
Still needs paint of course. And im In the process of cutting strips off an old oak butcher block to add a trim to the edges to make it look all nice and fancy. But my god im not looking forward to figuring out how to move the damn thing
She was found as a stray 2 years old and pregnant. Had been at the shelter for a little while but I could immediately tell she was an absolute sweet heart. Ive had her about a year now and shes quickly become the most talkative and needy little stinker ive ever owned and I love it

At my parents place temporarily while I wait to move into my new apartment. I got these KSI 8081 CSD at a surplus for 5 bucks, and wanted to make sure I knew a rough idea of how to the position them for when I finally move in since im planning a full scale listening room. Its jank as fuck, but DAMN does it deliver.

Thrifted or found everything on Facebook market place. Paid a grand total of 450
Got at a thrift store for 80 bucks. Cassette players work, but struggle a bit trying to rewind.

The cd player wont power on even with its own cable plugged into the wall. Gonna start tearing it open to try and fix it, but if anyone knows about these that might know a few tricks id appreciate it.
Got these for free after purchasing a cheap arv for my bedroom at a flea market. They power up fine and produce sound, but for about 30 seconds before cutting off. I run a yamaha RX-A1070, so i figured this would be plenty powerful, but no dice. I know the yamaha works because Im run my normal speakers on them, and the 520s work because they'll work for a few seconds at a time, so I dont know why they just seam to hate each other. I test resistance with a volt meter and measured a resistance of 5 and 6ohms on them respectively.

These speakers are shit, but do work lol. They just seam to hate me
Found this rock in a spoil pile on an old copper mine in western nc. In some old catalogs I was able to find the mines main minerals which includes: Augite, Biotite, Hornblende, Quartz, Bornite, Chalcopyrite, Covellite, Cuprite, Malachite, Pyrite, Pyrrhotite, Sphalerite.
Im tying to catalog abandoned mines in the western nc area i so can do a basic level environmental report for a research project at my college, so any help would be appreciated. Im waiting to get a meeting with one of the geology dept profs for help, but in the meantime reddit is all I got.
