Miraval Austin July 2026 Stay Review

Enjoyed my Miraval Arizona stay in March and so decided to explore a different one this time. Miraval Austin feels more like a contemporary architectural style with 3 floors of rooms in each building. During check-in, the manager mentioned to me that even though the Austin property has the same last name (Miraval) as the Arizona one, they do have very different personalities, which I totally agree with. So coming to this property, I tried to be open-minded and not constantly compare it to the flagship property.

I booked the Austin Suite with SUA. It’s a pretty big one-bedroom suite with 1 bathroom and 2 toilets. I was in Building 1, which is located before the Arrival Center, so it’s quite a distance from the Spa, which is at the far end of the property.

Some activities that I enjoyed: Hatchet Throwing, Unforgettable Canvas ($), Wall Climbing, Leap of Faith, and Cardio Drumming. I also did the Miraval Deep Tissue Massage. The therapist was really professional and did a great job releasing a lot of my tension. They do have a Jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room in the locker room. No cold plunge, unfortunately.

The breakfast menu and buffet are the same day to day. The lunch menu is the same, but the buffet is different. Dinner-wise, some items on the menu rotate. One thing to note here is that the entrées are larger portions. One to two entrées are enough for one person. In Arizona, I usually ordered 2–3 entrées to get full. Overall, I enjoyed dinner more than breakfast and lunch. They have a café (Nest Café) where you can get smoothies and snacks throughout the day. Surprisingly, as a Globalist, they provide one complimentary bar drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) during dinner per person, something I didn't have in Arizona.

I stayed at The Carpenter the night before Miraval, so I took an uber to the property and didn't have first-hand experience with the shuttle pickup. But I do know that the shuttle picks up from hotels around the airport. One thing is to make sure that the transportation/front desk team records your time of arrival to ensure a seamless front gate opening and check-in process. I did take the shuttle to the airport when departing Miraval, and their latest shuttle leaves at 2 PM. Also surprisingly, during check-in, the manager said that as a Globalist, we do get a 2 PM late checkout, but that's based on availability, so we need to request it from the front desk on the morning of checkout. Last time at Arizona, they told me that they require every guest to check out at 11 AM, but they are welcome to stay on the property until 5 PM. So getting a 2 PM late checkout before taking the last shuttle was nice.

Excited to try out Miraval Berkshire next year !

13 months availability feature for selected members rolled out

13 month availability just rolled out for Elite Members and cardholders

Kind funny how they just nerfed it for non elites/cardholders and kept it the same for those with status/cc and are calling it a new benefit

Andaz Savannah Stay Review

Stayed at this Cat 4 Property at Savannah for 3 nights with Hyatt Prive rate and the manager proactively upgraded us to Andaz Suite after my travel advisor reached out. Arrived the property at 11AM and the room was already ready, welcome amenity was sent an hour later with local snacks and ciders. Friendly front desk and management team for sure! Always send me messages and emails making sure everything is 👍 Whenever you enter the lobby, the front desk will say “welcome back” or “welcome down” if you’re taking the elevator to the lobby.

Breakfast was 💯, with the server Josiah made our day, very energetic and friendly, the food itself was super delicious (Fried Catfish and Grits - Shrimp and Grits), way better than Andaz NYC breakfast 🫢 Globalist breakfast covers an entree and hot drink per person, but I ordered an additional fruit side and it was also comp’ed.

As one of their destination fees benefit is sunset s’more experience, where you can get s’more kit from the front desk and “burn” them at the fire pit yourself. I ate like 6 s’mores in total(I know it’s bad but I couldn’t resist it 😂😂)

I like how this property is located, where I can walk around and to the river street and to the city market, etc etc. I drove by Thompson and Hyatt Regency, would probably try out Thompson next time. Thompson exterior looks nice tho.

I was awake by tons of police siren at 3AM one of the days and I saw the police are trying to force all the people in the Ellis Square in front of the Andaz to leave as they are blasting loud music and partying at the square.. seems like it’s something very common around here, sooo maybe there’s something to consider. The property do provide in room white noise machine and ear plugs if you need

The prive $100 on property credit is very limited on how you can use at this property. You can only apply to food/drinks pre tax at the hotel’s restaurant. Can’t apply to valet parking, marketplace stuff, in room dining, etc…

I didn’t try this but the pool is heated 👀

Used my $200 United Club Card renowned hotel credit at this property on a Sunday. Beautiful boutique hotel in the middle of the town. Absolute beautiful suite

It’s also considered as Chase Edit Hotel so I got a $100 on property credit which I used for the $45 valet parking and gotten 2 $10 Journeyman Mugs and 1 of their $30 Shampoo. Complimentary breakfast for 2 and guaranteed late check out. Also very nice welcome amenity, and a prosecco. Since I’m IHG Platinum (thanks to CSR), I also got $10 voucher for a drink.

ORD Premier Access Security Lane

Anyone thinks that ORD Premier Access Security Lane now being moved really sucks… it’s one benefit that I really enjoy flying out of ORD but now I need to queue for 30 minutes..

Really debating to go back to Clear now..

Welcome to Category 8, Andaz 5th Avenue

As devaluation development seems to be rolling out by phase before 9AM EST, this is one that I have noticed so far…

It’s one property that I don’t think it’s worth to be upgraded in category. It’s ok in Cat 6 or 7, but definitely not Cat 8

My first most expensive CC

Always wanted to get CSR but there’s no offer for me to do an upgrade from CSP and not sure if I’m gonna get the bonus if I applied previously. Thankfully Chase now clarified that we can get bonus on each card once a lifetime.

Applied Monday 11:30 PM
Approved Wednesday 8:00 AM
Card arrived today (Friday) 10:00 AM

Got to use the Whoop credit before it expires next week 🤩🥳 Also got 2 tickets on stub hub for a total of $150 already .

Anyways transferred all my URs to CSR and downgraded my CSP to freedom. Great week ahead

Absolutely stunning view of the Dallas’s Reunion Tower from the Terrace Suite.

Booked their standard suite (Horizon Suite) with a SUA for my weekend stay and got a surprise upgrade to their Terrace Suite. I wanted to surprise my partner so I arranged in advanced with the amazing guest experience manager, for the “I Love You” decoration. Shout out to Michelle ❤️💯!!

Nothing really to complain about this property, other than it’s located next to a train track where at night I can hear some train sounds, but not really crazy.

Huge property, with tons of conference rooms and literally next to the reunion tower. As a guest at the property, you do get 20% off for the reunion tower Ge-O Deck ticket, just need to show your room key at the ticketing counter.

For Globalist, you can either choose buffet breakfast or Ala Carte but I prefer the buffet breakfast as it has a lot more selections, made to order omelette is included as well. You can also either choose to enjoy breakfast at their restaurant or grab some quick bites/snacks from their Coffee Shop.

You can either do valet parking for $50 or self parking down the road for $30.

Anyways, I’m glad that I chose this property over Hyatt Regency DFW even though my conference is near the DFW airport. Hyatt Regency DFW is also $100 more per night than my rate at Hyatt Regency Dallas.
