This has got to be the most Mind-bogglingly stupid thing I have seen on a selling site

Okay, so I received an order for an item that I sold on another site. No problem, I go in and cancel the order. However, the buyer still isn't refunded. I thought that was strange. I looked into it further and saw that there is a SEPERATE REFUND BUTTON that you have to hit BEFORE you hit cancel. Who would think this? If this were any site like eBay or Mercari, it would all be in one. But nope. So now I basically have to pay back the seller through the PayPal app (which I have to pay MY MONEY to cover the difference after the stupid fees they take). And then Discogs can't even verify if it went through since it is all private now. Why can't anything be easy on this site? It's the most frustrating user experience ever.

[Discover] Confusion about moving due dates

I can't seem to get any overall consensus on this. I moved my due date from the 10th to the 28th in the month of June. My statements always came on the 14th of each month. When would the statement for June be posted? Will I still get the statement for June on the 14th, and the new due date be August 28th? Otherwise, I'm going to have a bigger bill to pay for June if the statement generation for THIS month won't be on the 14th as usual.

Am I the only one who finds this ridiculous?

So you know how Mercari runs these limited time sales (right now it is save $20 on shipping for a $50+ purchase)? Yeah so I use the coupon on a purchase with an unresponsive seller (also ANOTHER thing that drives me up a wall on this platform but that's for another post entirely). Okay so that falls through, but somehow the coupon "expired" when the promotion is STILL GOING ON. Is it just me or is that completely ridiculous? Why is there a select time frame you can use the coupon within a select time frame of the promotion? I know it's a first world problem/not a big deal but it's still so strange to me. I have no idea why they handle it this way. Am I overreacting or has anyone else ran into this situation?

Semi-new fan of the band, here are my 20 favorite songs at the moment

I have known about this band for many years and was familiar with their big hits, but never dug into their discography until the last few years. Now they are one of my favorite bands. Their songs have a special type of magic and relatability that I haven't seen from other bands that sound similar musically. On the surface, they seem to just make juvenile and simple songs, but I was surprised by how many songs they have that talk about serious topics. Anyways, here are 20 of my favorite songs.

  1. Stay Together For the Kids

Having divorced parents, this song will always strike a chord with me. The chorus is brutal, and Tom's angsty vocal style truly adds to the sentiment. Even if I separated the relatability aspect, the song is just so well written and painfully honest.

  1. Bored to Death

A modern-ish staple of their catalog, this song is one that I will never get bored with (no pun intended). The chorus is made for a live crowd, and the bridge is one of their best that they have ever written. I love the syncopated drum groove on the verses, and it is so fun to play.

  1. No Heart to Speak Of

The album that this song is on doesn't have as many standout tracks compared to their other works, in my opinion, despite being mostly solid. This song is just incredible, though. That chorus hits like a freight train. The instrumental outro is just the cherry on the sundae.

  1. I Miss You

This song is pretty simple, but very effective. It's famous for a reason. I love the melancholiness and the "where are you?" part (despite the memes).

  1. Roller Coaster

God damn I love this song. It has great transitions from frantic sections to a more controlled feel, making the song feel like an actual roller coaster.

  1. The Rock Show

This song encapsulates a youthful nostalgic energy like nothing else. I love the infectious chorus and bridge. It's the ultimate spring/summer type song.

  1. Feeling This

A fan favorite for sure, what else is there to say about this one? The drum intro is iconic, along with the stripped-down chorus using cowbell. Oh, and how can I forget about the outro with that vocal arrangement? Absolute insanity.

  1. Up All Night

I've also struggled with anxiety, so this song hits close to home as well. The layering on the chorus impressed me when I first heard it, and that main riff is one of my favorites from them. Especially in the outro, when Travis changes the feel (slow then progressively quicker). So genius.

  1. First Date

This song is admittedly pretty commercial-sounding, but that doesn't make it any less great. It has an iconic sing-along chorus. "Let's make this last forever, forever and ever" gets stuck in my head constantly.

  1. Dammit

Also a pretty big hit from the band, and I remember playing this song on Guitar Hero: World Tour. It will surely give you a workout as a drummer (not very complex but requires stamina if you use 8ths). It's not really a hot take or anything to have this track on the list, but it is still highly memorable.

  1. MH 4.18.2011

I don't hear this one discussed as much, but it is just so damn catchy, and I love the guitar tone. There aren't any particular standout crazy moments, but something about this song I just jive with, and it's hard to describe. "Stop living in the shadow of a helicopter" is a line in particular that has stuck with me.

  1. Aliens Exist

A fan favorite track, and everyone knows what you mean when you refer to the song's title. I love the pick slide and chaotic drumming, as well as the lyrics about Tom's fixation with extraterrestrial life.

  1. Adam's Song

A great song to show as an example that they can write songs about serious subject matter. It's heartbreaking when you uncover more about the song's meaning. However, I like the hopeful tone it sets towards the end of the track. It's very well written.

  1. Ghost on the Dance Floor

I didn't really know what to think of this song at first, as it seemed a bit more experimental and quirky. It wasn't the typical Blink sound that I was used to. With more listens, though, I grew to adore it. Fantastic lyrics and I love the whole metaphor of the "dance floor".

  1. Here's Your Letter

Also another song that I don't hear enough praise for. It's not the most complicated structurally, but something just works about it. Mark Hoppus truly shines here. Great pre choruses as well as that bridge!

  1. Obvious

One of the band's heaviest tracks. That riff that comes around the 1:30 mark is absolutely peak. Some great time signature changes as well. It definitely deserves more attention!

  1. Hearts All Gone

This song is one giant adrenaline rush. As a drummer, this one provides a huge challenge, not only on a pure endurance standpoint but also in terms of technicality. It gives me old school punk vibes but with a polished flair.

  1. San Diego

I love the gloomy undertones behind this song, despite having a singalong upbeat-sounding chorus. It's a great bittersweet type of song, reminiscing about fond memories, but there is definitely a level of pain and resentment. Impressive vocal work in the bridge. Such raw feeling.

  1. Reckless Abandon

Very catchy and I love the instrumental bridge! "We left a scar size, extra large" always gives me a chuckle on every listen.

  1. Online Songs

The title of this song is admittedly a bit silly and of its time, but it's actually very depressing. Great lyrics and catchiness. Definitely a song that deserves more attention. The fact that it has hardly been played live doesn't help.

Honorable Mentions: Anthems (I-III), Happy Days, What's My Age Again, Kings of the Weekend, The Only Thing That Matters, Hungover You, Dumpweed, M&Ms, Carousel, Down, She's Out of Her Mind, No Future, Dysentery Gary, Go, Stockholm Syndrome, 6/8, Misery, Parking Lot, Kaleidoscope

If you were wondering, I would rank the albums: TOYPAJ, Untitled, Enema, California, Neighborhoods, Dude Ranch, One More Time, Nine, Cheshire Cat/Buddha

Feel free to discuss any agreements/disagreements as well as some of your favorites!

Hot Fuzz (2007) Discussion: Am I missing something?

Hello, I recently watched the whole Cornetto trilogy for the first time. My favorite was by far Shaun of the Dead. I almost busted a muscle with laughter. I would then say The Worlds End was my second favorite. I liked the absurdity of it, counterbalanced with the relatable emotional moments. However, I commonly see Hot Fuzz being hyped up as the best of the trilogy (and one of the most celebrated comedy films in general), and I didn't find it as funny compared to the other two films. It also dragged a bit at times due to the 2 hr runtime. Maybe it's just a specific type of humor that didn't click with me? Don't get me wrong, it was overall a good movie but I am not sure what specifically elevates it to that high level for people. I suppose that I am not as well versed in cop-type movies compared to zombie and sci-fi films? I felt like the humor was a lot more specific to British culture in comparison to the other two as well (I am American btw). The editing felt choppy, and almost reminded me of a Saw film in that regard. I know that it is supposed to be parodying the tropes in these detective/police type films, but it didn't really jive with me as much. What do you think of Hot Fuzz and if you could give me any suggestions to better get behind it, that would be much appreciated!

I feel California is so underappreciated

I know they have "better" albums than this one, but something about it makes me keep coming back to it. It is my most replayed album from the band. I think it has some of their catchiest songs, and they often get stuck in my head throughout the day. I am shocked to see how many people dislike it. I would even say I prefer Skiba's vocals over Tom's in general. I can't think of a single song I dislike off it: Bored to Death, Kings of the Weekend, The Only Thing That Matters, Rabbit Hole, San Diego, Teenage Satellites, and Left Alone, and Los Angeles in particular are infectious. I will say that the usage of "woah oh"s is a bit dated, but other than that, I really dig this album. It's often on heavy rotation for me. I don't know why it has such a negative reputation overall- It's easily a top 3-5 Blink album in my opinion.

Other albums that sound like Transcendence?

This is my favorite Devin album, and I've yet to find another album that scratches that same itc. Something ethereal, grand sounding, emotive ideally. It's hard to describe the feeling I get from it but part of me wishes Dev would make another album that sounds like something in that vein at some point in the future. Does anyone have any suggestions?

*EDIT: I'm looking for other bands/artists besides Devin (listened to all his albums dozens of times)!

Worth considering a 7900 XTX?

I currently have a 7900 XT and am mostly glad with it, but I'm looking to possibly get more 4K performance. I can sell it for about $600 (about the price I paid for it), and buy an XTX for ~$800. Is the extra $200 bump worth it? Is this even an appropriate price to pay or is it just inflated?

Just "saw" Saw X for the first time and had a question about the ending (SPOILERS)

Incredible movie and easily ranks among my favorite horror/thrillers, but one thing that I was a bit confused about was John's motive regarding the money taken from the scammers. Don't get me wrong, I think providing Carlos with financial support is a positive usage of it, but the money ultimately came from cancer patients who John was motivated to fight for their (and his) cause. He mentioned several times about how the games are meant to teach a lesson for him and the other patients who got lured in. Wouldn't John want to donate the money to the original victims in the scam (or their families if they had passed), or maybe to cancer research? Kinda was a strange decision in my opinion, unless I'm missing something. How did you interpret this part?
