Partisan Disruptor Ambi Safety?

What’s up ya’ll? Figured I’d ask here, hoping someone has some experience.

I recently got an insane deal on a Partisan Disruptor cassette FRT. I’ve tried literally every FRT other than this. I am used to ambi safeties, and unfortunately at the moment The Triggered Company are only selling their Ambi safeties bundled together. I reached out to them via email and said it would at least be a few months before they release as a standalone product.

With that being said- does anyone have any experience/ recommendations on what to do? Will a Rare Breed ambi safety be compatible? I’ve heard that there are some folks that offer a modification service also.

Thanks in advance!

Elizabeth City FFL transfers?

Posting here for a buddy who recently relocated from the 757 in Virginia, to Elizabeth City to help care for his father.

Any reasonable recommendations within + or - 30 minutes of Elizabeth City are appreciated, and bonus points if they do NFA transfers!

[Review] [Positive] AbnormalGunWorks.com

I was lucky enough to get an insane deal on a Fusion Fireams XP Pro via Modern Warriors clearance sale. The gun was pretty good on its own, but from everything I’d read online, it could be great with a few small tweaks. The 2011 platform is the one platform I have less experience on, and I’d prefer to not bubba up a relatively high dollar item gun.

I’d seen some good reviews on Abnormal Gun Works installing the Red Dirt Trigger, and performing some other services. Polishing, sear engagement etc. I reached out to Luke, paid the man and shipped him my gun. I got it back to me in about 7 business days (that’s fast for the work being done). It’s like I’m holding a different gun. Not only is the trigger insane, but the slide action is buttery smooth. If you’re looking for any DS 1911/ 2011 work done reach out to Luke at Abnormal. I’ll be doing business with him again soon!

Hey ya'll! Looking to have this printed in either an FDE/ Dark Green, or really any other earth tone. I apologize, but I am completely ignorant to any, and all things 3D printing, but I am hoping to have this printed in a relatively/ thick or heavy material (if that is even possible?)

Hoping to get a price, shipped USPS to a non-rural area of Virginia! Thank you in advance!

Nexus Kuna Two Stamper

As a Virginian, there were a few guns I really wanted to make sure I had before AWB happened. This was near the top of the list, and I'm glad I planned ahead. There for awhile, it was tough to find a Kuna, and wasn't sure what Form 1 wait times were gonna be at the beginning of the year. After I got a chance to shoot a friend's Kuna with a Nexus lower- I was convinced it was the pinnacle of FRT. Felt like a legal, civilian subgun. Started this journey back in January, spent the last few months waiting on stamps and building it out. Here's the build list:

  • Springfield Kuna, Form 1'd to an SBR
  • Nexus Lower Receiver (accepts AR triggers and FRTs, converts to CZ Scorpion Mags)
  • Nexus SS Trip Kit
  • Nexus Knurled Medium Charging Handle
  • Rave 140 Trigger with Atrius FRT
  • DFCO Kung Fu Grip w/ plug
  • A3 Industries Compact Vertical Grip/ Handstop combo
  • YHM R9 w/ Plan B Hub and Muzzle Brake
  • Samson Mfg. S.A.S. Stock
  • Holosun ARO EVO Red Dot w/ Reptilia DOT Riser

First Steering Wheel Photo While Stuck in Traffic - Can #4 B&T PrintXH RBS SC Ti

Was impossible to turn down the $550 deal on this via ShootersChoiceSC a week or two ago. Found an SOT in between my place, and the girlfriend’s place. $45 suppressor transfers and $10 standard transfers before July 1 in VA.

If you’re in the 757, shoutsouts to Curt at The Bang Shop. One cool cat, running a home based FFL. Offers hours for the working man, since he is as well.

My buddy ignored every instruction I gave him. Now his 43X MOS needs a gunsmith.

My best friend has been into guns for about six months now. Recently got his CCW and picked up a Glock 43X MOS after I recommended it. Good choice, right? He decides he wants a red dot. I give him a few options, he orders one, and of course it arrives the one weekend I'm out of town on vacation with my family. I tell him, "Dude, just wait 48 hours. I'll help you install it when I get back."

Nope.

Since he was determined to do it himself, I sent him a detailed text. I mean detailed. Correct screw lengths. Warnings about the extractor depressor plunger assembly underneath the right screw hole. Instructions to test fit everything before torquing. Use only blue Loctite. Small amount. Torque to the manufacturer's specs.

Basically all the information necessary to avoid creating a problem.

About three hours later I get a phone call.

"The Glock isn't ejecting brass properly. What the fuck is going on?"

I ask a few distinct questions, as this has not been his first run in with not following my detailed instructions when it comes to firearms troubleshooting.

"Did you verify the screw length?"

"..."

"Did you use blue Loctite?"

"..."

"How much Loctite did you use?"

"..."

At this point I already knew I was about to discover something terrible, and I immediately wanted to extend the family vacation so I didn't have to deal with my best friend's puppy dog eyes when I break some catastrophic news to him.

Fast forward to tonight. He brings the gun over. I strip the slide down and immediately shine a flashlight down the right screw channel.

I am greeted by what can only be described as a crime scene.

First thing I find is a screw that's about twice as long as it should be.

Second thing I find is enough red Loctite to secure a suspension bridge.

The extractor depressor plunger assembly won't move at all.

My current working theory is that he ignored the screw length guidance, cranked the screw down like he was tightening lug nuts on a dump truck, then poured red Loctite directly into the hole instead of putting a tiny dab on the screw threads.

When I told him this was officially beyond my comfort level and needed a real gunsmith, he started panicking.

"But I just wanted to shoot it."

Yeah buddy, and the Titanic passengers just wanted to take a boat ride.

Hopefully this becomes one of those expensive lessons you only have to learn once.

So now for the actual question: does anyone have recommendations for a reputable gunsmith that he can ship his slide to? I'm not comfortable trying to fix this one myself. Looking for someone who has experience dealing with stripped optic screw holes, seized extractor depressor assemblies, and excessive red Loctite-induced stupidity.

UPDATE/EDIT:

After him coming over last night, and then me briefing him on the available options this morning, I showed him this post and let him read through both the post and the comments.

I can confidently report that the court of public opinion has been far more effective than anything I said.

Between hundreds of internet strangers collectively asking him variations of “what the hell were you thinking?” and the realization that his impatience is now costing him shipping fees, a repair bill, and however long he’ll be without his carry gun, I think the lesson has finally landed.

He reached out to Glock this morning. They didn’t provide an exact price, but they did give him instructions on sending the slide in for evaluation, so that’s the route he’s taking.

For those wondering, the optic screw threads appear to be fine. The issue seems to be that the extractor depressor plunger assembly is completely seized up after the Great Red Loctite Incident of 2026.

He’s admitted that using an overlength screw may not have been his finest engineering achievement, and after reading the comments, he has also learned that red Loctite is apparently not a condiment.

At this point he’s accepted responsibility, stopped trying to “fix” it himself, and is letting Glock take over from here.

I’ll post another update once Glock looks at it and we find out whether this is a simple repair, an expensive lesson, or a case study that ends up in a future Glock armorer’s course.

Thanks to everyone who offered advice, recommendations, and creative new ways to roast my friend.

PLAN B Muzzle Device and Hub Recommendations? B&T Print-XH RBS 556 SC Ti

Currently running a Geissele 11.5” URGI with a SureFire 4-prong and a B&T Print-X Rotex 5.56 Compact using B&T’s SureFire-compatible hub.

I’m planning to sell the SureFire hub and move everything over to Plan B. I recently ordered a B&T Print-XH RBS 556 SC Ti, which came bundled with a RAID titanium hub and single-port muzzle device. The new XH will become the primary suppressor on my 11.5” URGI, but I don’t plan on using the included RAID mount. Instead, I’ll be moving the current Print-X Rotex over to my 18” SPR build and setting it up with the included RAID hub and muzzle device from the new can.

For those running Plan B setups on short-barreled 5.56 guns, what hub and muzzle device combination would you recommend if minimizing overall added length is the priority? I’m looking for the shortest possible setup while still maintaining a solid mounting system and keeping flash/signature reduction under NVGs in mind.

Clearance to the first baffle is also a concern with the new can, and I haven’t been able to find much information on blast chamber depth or maximum muzzle device protrusion. I can always wait until the can is in hand and measure it myself, but I’m hoping some of you may already have experience with the XH-556 SC or similar B&T HUB cans.

Thanks.

Looking for FFL SOT for suppressor transfer in Hampton Roads, Virginia Beach or Richmond

Howdy ya'll! To preface, I live in Williamsburg but travel often to VA Beach, Richmond and everywhere in between.

A few months ago, I used a local FFL SOT for a suppressor transfer and I believe I paid $135. I was hoping to find a cheaper one in the area, as I found a suppressor deal I'm hoping not to miss out on.

A month or so ago, someone mentioned one near Norfolk/VB that was $50 I believe? But send me your suggestions, and what you've paid in the past!

Thanks!!

[OPTICS] EOTech XPS 2 OD Green $499, EOTech 512 $399 + S/T

XPS2 OD Green $499

512 $399

G33 Magnifier Tan $449 G33 Magnifier Black $449 Thanks to u/UncleJuggs for point out these too!

With recent price hikes on EOTechs, this is a pretty good deal if you're in the market for one. Especially the OD Green model if that would vibe with your build. It's PSA so shipping and tax might kill the deal for some, but figured I'd post it here in case someone is in need of more optics.

[PISTOL] Daniel Defense DDM4V7 5.56 10.3” $1099 + S/H (NO TAX TO MOST STATES)

This is roughly the same price as the Modern Warriors deal. $50 cheaper than it has been, and he’s got 40 in stock. Shipping is $15.99 for me to VA, with no tax bringing grand total to $1,115.98.

I’d still consider this BIN. For any VA folks that have yet to buy a rifle- get this, 15-20 PMAGs from PSA, and a halfway decent suppressor. Throw in an enclosed emitter Holosun and you’re all in for way under $2000. You can form 1 this to an SBR if you so wish.

Also- obligatory 208 fucks. They’ve been awesome to me and my friends and family with the coming AWB. Got at least 8 friends/family running a similar setup to the one above and they love it.

[Review][Positive] Unexpected Quality from Receiver Set at MatrixArms.com

Saw a week or two ago, MatrixArms was running a damn good sale with 25% a lot of products. I purchased their new, V2 lower/upper set. Total, after shipping was like $115ish... insane deal for the quality I received. Had never ordered from Matrix Arms, but living in Virginia with the upcoming ban, I figured I'd grab a receiver set to sit on. It showed up to my FFL yesterday, and I am blown away by the quality for this price.

If you've never heard of em, check em out!

Nexus Lower Assembly Questions

Howdy ya'll! Looks like my Nexus lower is scheduled to arrive early this week! Woo-hoo!

Now, I am an absolute novice when it comes to assembling AR style lowers. Years ago, I used to build out P80s and other various glocks... but my firearms knowledge ends there.

Are there any videos for resource on how to assemble the lower? I am using a V1 ARC Fire, with Geissele G2S (pre-cut), lever blocker etc etc. Also, need to properly attach my new Plan B muzzle device (so any tips/tricks there are also helpful)!

As bad as it sounds, I moved to VA a few years back and in the past had friends in the midwest to help assemble my AR lowers, and help installing muzzle devices. I had to take an AR lower in for gunsmithing work a few months ago and the guy gave me hell for having an ARC Fire installed for (wrongly) thinking FRTs were illegal in this state, so I'd love to avoid having to take this there haha.

Any help is super appreciated!

Affordable FFL in VA Beach?

Hey ya'll! I'm a Williamsburg local, but my girlfriend lives in Virginia Beach. We are working on ordering her first CCW firearm, and with the hours she works, its going to be tough for her to make it to Williamsburg if we use my FFL.

She's over in the Pembroke area if that helps narrow it down. Thanks for the assistance!

Subsonic Ammo Recommendations? Blazer Clean Fire Suppressor?

What type of subsonic ammunition do ya’ll run through your Kuna when running suppressed?

I’m still waiting on my Nexus lower, and my Form 1 approval but wanted to stack up on some ammo in advance.

There’s a good deal on the new Blazer 147gr Clean Fire Suppressor ammo- has anyone run that yet? Specifically under FRT?

I moved to this state about three years ago from the midwest. I'm 31, and have restarted my collection in the last year after having to sell everything off in a pretty nasty seperation.

With that being said, I have been hoarding and buying like crazy since the AWB passed and was not vetoed. I currently have/am waiting on approval for:

  • 11.5 Geissele URGI SBR + B&T Suppressor (5.56)
    • 30ish magazines
  • 9" 300 BLK SD Build SBR (Diligent Defense Enticer S Tucked Suppressor Build)
    • 12 dedicated 300 BLK magazines for subsonics
  • Springfield Kuna 9mm SBR (Nexus lower build) + YHM R9 Suppressor
    • 12 Magpul CZ Scorpion mags
  • G26 Fowler Industries Build (Had been my EDC for many, many years)
    • 6 G26 magazines (with SLR extensions)
  • Ruger RXM w/ Compact and Full Size Grip module
    • 8 G19 mags, 8 G17 mags

All but the G26 have been purchased/built in the last 8ish months... so it's been expensive playing catch up. If you were in my boots- is there anything else you'd snag? To be transparent, I don't see myself staying in Virginia forever. I moved here to be closer to my aging parents, however my girlfriend and her family are born and raised Virginians. If I had to guess, I'll be here at most for another 8-10 years.

Now, from my interpretation of the upcoming laws… I don’t see how any pending Form 1s for SBRs/SBSs could/would be declined.

I currently have two pending Form 1s (SBRs/ Individual) pending from 3/19 and 4/13. I’m hoping with the current timelines, it *shouldn’t* be an issue for me. However I’m considering picking up some stripped lowers to Form 1 to future proof myself even further.

So- what are the possible scenarios?
