Three super funny greenbeards

Happy to announce I met some ultra new people (they all just bought the game, just imagine the antics) - and they * used chat, asked some questions *, and when I said NONONONOTYET they would even listen!

Played four missions with them, and we always had to leave one behind, but it was all super wholesome. Last mission was corestone, and I bet with VC we could have made it, but I had my hands so full with rezzing and typing, alas.

Like hoarding a bag of (well-meaning!) fleas, I lmao'd all the time. What? How? Why? Noooo! That's a Detonator, stay away pls (too late ofc), lots of WTF, xD, LOL in chat.

Highlight: guys we're running out of time and ammo - forget about that last chunk of gold (point extraction), we got everything, lets gooo (for 10 mins straight, a hundred rezzes), until finally someone said 'may I push the button?' I said yes I been begging! pleeease....

... I hop on top of rocket to show 'em how it's done. To my giggly amazement, Driller also hops on. Countdown. I rock and stone. He roks n stons. Takeoff. And he looks up, down, then at me. I rok n ston. He types WTF. Confused driller face. Comedy gold.

Thanks greenies, you made my day.

Such a bunch of nice folks. One from France, one from Algier one from Canada I believe. They're out there!!! R+S

Nitra Comedy Gold

Random Lobby. Point extraction. Have deposited over 200 nitra already, got 55 more on me, and handling a swarm, 5 Aquarqs and a Jadiz all on my own because noone reacts to pings and down constantly. I go revive, zip back, handling the 6 gems, pinging them. Type in chat: guys, on me, got all the stuff, help appreciated.

Host down again, spamming x. Other guy down, spamming x. Back and forth between reviving and schlepping that stuff for like 15 minutes. Noone reacting to pings or txt.

Alright then, I guess I have to bring the stuff on my own and ignore downed ones spamming x for a few minutes. Constantly swarmed. Kill kill kill, throw quarks, the Jadiz, ahh some red sugar thx, decide to revive closest dwarf again (100th time),

deposit the 55 nitra (next resup, I need none), go back to getting the gems, dude calls in resup and is immediately down again, I can't decide whether this is hilarious or aggravating, or both, or whether they trolling? back to work...

... then:

a txt chat message: Scout, we need more nitra, why don't you help

Don't know if this glitch is known?

Was bhopping in elevator (landing sequence), landed on top of elevator for a sec and then spawned at next elevator. Was quite fun to make it back to regular spawn whilst prepping a workbench/bbsttation here and there.

Next stage, tried again (bhop with mouse wheel), and yes.

Not an expert on glitching out the map and such, but made for a few fun moments. If u wanna try it out. roknston

Some people

RogueCoreSludgeDump /s

So I play solo or with friends mostly (D4) and all is well. Sometimes I give playing with randoms a chance (it can't be that bad, no? I guess I'm just too picky? people must get it by now?) and oh my...

2 out of 3 runs there's someone whining like an entitled little elf. 'Bruh, I could have used that upgrade' - well, you should have <3 'd it, I can't read your mind. Neither do I have to do your thinking for you. 'I need all of upgrade x, leave them to me' - dude, you don't: if your run depends on having all available instances of upgrade x, maybe play lower haz?!?

Most of the time, I just wait until people are done with wiggly wiggly and pick what is left and still makes some kind if sense. If I'm first, I get sth I want/like if noone hearted it. If I click faster than you can read, maybe get some reading lessons you illiterate clown.

Same people spend like max time reading a few short descriptions in the darn upgrade screen and keep going down like ehhh... all of the darn time. They don't even use ping or salute. I must have left more lobbies and blocked more leaf-lovers in RC than in all my hours of DRG, lol. If bitching around is your definition of fun, maybe go play some Fortnite?

Made a new friend a few days ago (their lobby title was sth like 'chill dwarves only, please'), they don't have many friends and are a bit frustrated about randoes, too. Yesterday night, had the chance to inv them to a frens only lobby. Was a pleasure and a joy - no whining, no bitching, no wiggly wiggly in upgrade screen, not a single down, just super high octane rock and stoning with a lot of laughs.

Dude was super amazed how effortless and smooth it all went. Upgrade screen: 10 secs max. Carrying a box and there's a ledge: see here, platform, platform. Oi moid a platfoim. Out of ammo? See here, I dropped a box for you. Just a lot of xD and lol in chat. No big strategy. Bulk dead in seconds. Timer running out: everyone's at the elevator already, dude with drills has prepped the area. Boss fight: ez pz, Spotter spamming radar and crit. Throw stones, done.

It's a frigging Co-op game and it's meant to play easier the more you contribute. Not the other way around.

So... no, you don't 'need' this and that, and there's no 'need' to double-dip ammo and armor... and you don't have to 'think' until upgrade timer runs out... sigh. People don't have to revive you a hundred times if it endangers the whole team. You're just a liability and you're blocked. Go play with other elves or just learn how to play the game, man.

The game is really not hard, especially since update. And: yes, there's an element of chance and you have to live with other player's choices. It's not all about you. It's a frigging *CO-OP* game, you son of a mud-golem.

To those who really rock: I salute you.

Rant over.

Dang! I'm goina coach someone

By no means I proclaim to be certified, but hear me out: been shooting Oly for years, club wanted me to go to competitive, idc. Had lengthy break, re-joined old Oly club: everyone super competitive, not my thing, had more fun to take care of the noobies. Safety, stance, warm-up, etc.

New club is trad, with everyone basically just flinging arrows. Coach is also ex-Oly, but has his hands full. Up shows this dude who's even older than me (hasn't been there for a year or so). Guy must be almost 90 years old and is super sweet, but only has the club's 50" 15lbs kids bow to use (he's almost 6 ft, still).

I asked coach if I may take care of the old man (find a suitable bow and do warmup/stretch band exercises with him, etc) and coach said yes, pretty please. My guess is a 64"@15 lbs takedown bow, I'll take his draw length and bring some different size bows along to see what size he's not too afraid of, set stuff up for him and take care of basics.

Just got a new set of foam limbs in to go with my new lovely wooden riser, but I don't really care at the moment. Much more excited to have the honour to take care of an aspiring sportsman. I dunno... quite cool that coach has so much trust in me after just a few sessions (new to this club myself).

What an honor. Mean it. This sport can be done by the old and young alike. Nighty!

Btw: how's my 'form' (miniskirt and absurd show) lol

White Feather Lark 23"

UPS just dropped it here. Oh my it's beautiful. Really balanced in the hand, grip is not too wide or smallish, just perfect. Been using a 19" wood riser for the last year or so (Oak Ridge Shade, in pic), but been eyeing a bigger one for a while now - coming from 25" Oly, the small riser feels a bit like a toy, and I draw around 29.5", so it's stacking a bit

Slapped on some cheaper 30 lbs limbs I had laying around, tiller neutral (experimenting with 3 under), a cheap leather rest, it draws around 29 lbs at my length, and oh my: bow shoots rather smooth and quick (don't have chrony here). Just really pleasurable.

The riser seems to be really well made, feels great to the touch and shoot, much less nervous than the 62" bow (the Lark with med limbs has 66"). I just can't wrap my head around how people get along with 17" risers. Taking both to the club for a shootout tomorrow if weather allows... I kinda fear everyone wants to try it haha. It's rad!

NuSensei has a video review on the riser (different branding, can't remember, but I assume it's all the same factory) and he was quite impressed with it. I have like 5 different risers and limb combos here, and I think this is my 2nd favourite one right behind the Vantage AX (not really comparable, I know). The thing feels just great.

Btw., any recommendations on trad looking (no fancy decals etc) limbs in the hm maybe 150 bucks range? I have some nice WNS here, but they're a real bad fit, aesthetically speaking lol

15 years in, my first dry fire

Oh man, I still can't believe it. Shot a small recurve as a kid, shot Olympic in a club for a good while, retreated from club and shot in backyard, just two weeks ago found a new club (they do traditional, mostly - new to me) and two sessions in: BAM!!! Arrow just fell down in front of me.

Still trying to figure out what happened, but I suspect the reason might be that I'm not used to a shooting glove. Might have pinched the nock off the string because the glove is much less tactile than my good ole worn in tab. However, scary stuff.

Was sort of happy that I used super low poundage for first sessions (measured 24 sth lbs)... took it apart, inspected ILF and tips, checked for cracks in limbs, couldn't find any obvious damage, someone said I shouldn't worry too much (wondering how many dry fires that dude has executed, lol) -

... so: will run cotton ball along limbs tomorrow, inspect under good lighting, will take ILF apart to see if bushings etc still look sane. Don't really feel like sending it back in for a check, since bad experiences with anonymous service technicians (no matter the craft) galore.

Any further tips on what to check for? Highly appreciated! Stay safe everyone 🙂
