AI restaurant signage

I’m seeing more and more usage of AI for signs and promotional posters. They look awful.

I get some of these places don’t have much of a budget to work for, but I don’t think they’re doing themselves any favour turning out slop and using it for signage.

Summer day. You’re 10 years old and home for the summer. How are you spending it?

Me? I’m watching some morning game shows, then jumping on my bike to meet my friends around noon. Gonna get up to some mischief, drop a buck or two buying a popsicle at the store, and maybe dropping a few quarters in the Moon Patrol machine at the convenience store by my house

Hot take: Splash works is disgusting

Seriously there’s so many people not wearing proper swim gear. The water is freezing and filled with debris. Barf.

People were too harsh on the movie!

It was a total romp. So much fun and made with people who loved MOTU, and that showed.

People (critics) complained there were “too many jokes” but I thought it did a great job of balancing the absurdity with heart.

Do I think it’s going to be a timeless classic? No. But, it’ll be a fun rewatch and a sad reminder that we could have had a nice franchise on our hands.

I mean, how can there be so many rush hour movies (which are awful) or now you see me movies and this gets relegated to the dustbin? Sigh

What song first hooked you in?

Mine was “Is it wicked not to care?”. I caught the video back in 2000/2001 after getting home from the bar. What a tremendous song.

I’ve seen them 8 times now, and they just might be my favourite band.

What traits did you inherit from your parents?

Definitely my sense of humour from my dad, and my total stubbornness from my mom.

Ever go back somewhere you haven’t been in literal decades? How did it compare to the memories of it in your younger days?

For me it was Disneyland. Truthfully, it held up pretty magically!

“Cheesy eggs” was the thing my dad made on the weekend. What’s your nostalgia dish that you now make that reminds you of a late parent?

Man those eggs were the shit. I faithfully recreate them and am happy my daughter now loves them!

When my dad was my age now, he was wearing button-down shirts in relaxing situations. I just don’t get it.

11 am was always the best part of a sick day. Then the options after the Flintstone and Leave it to Beaver over the noon hour were…lacking
