SEX GANG CHILDREN - Sebastiane

SEX GANG CHILDREN - Sebastiane

A great band with an unfortunate name. Malcolm McLaren had pulled the name from a William Burroughs novel and had considered using it for Bow Wow Wow (who used the phrase in the lyrics of "Mile High Club) but chose Bow Wow Wow. Then Boy George wanted to use the name for what became Culture Club, but the band said no, and ended up making an Everest of cash. Finally, it was claimed Andi Sex Gang, lead singer of a band that was originally called Panic Button. And here we are.

Google cautioned me when I looked up the video. So, I'm on a list or something. Great.

Cabaret Voltaire -- Sluggin' fer Jesus - pt1&2

From Eight Crepuscule Tracks. No one ever tried to copy them. That chugging fiddle-like tone in the beginning sounds like noted Fluxus weirdo Henry Flynt. Wonder if it's a sample?

Adam Ant -- Desperate But Not Serious

I love Adam Ant, (and Adam and the Ants). I like the combination of undeniable groove, occasional melodic eccentricity, and a sense of humor.

The song debuted as a 45 on Sire in 1985, and appeared later on the band's self-titled album.

Collab between Robert Smith and Steven Severin, with Jeanette Landray (Budgie's pre-Siouxsie Sioux girlfriend). Great album.

I knew this sort of dumb couple. Woman and man. The woman was less dumb. Separately, they both confessed to me that this song made them fantasize about cheating on the other.

That is the power of Gedge.
