I actually felt like I didn’t need shorts with my bathing suit!

Since I’ve been in middle school (I’m in my 30s now) I would not wear a bathing suit without shorts (I’m a woman). My mom asked me if I wanted to come over and go to the pool but I told her I had to try on my bathing suit first as I’ve lost nearly 45lbs since last summer.

Well I decided to do that this morning and I actually felt like I didn’t need shorts?! Like I might actually look good, which is very weird for me to think. But I feel like because I’ve been doing it for so long I still have to wear them, and that I don’t look as good as I think. Anyone else struggling with this?

And just in case anyone is wondering, I can get away with using last year’s bathing suit. I believe I just have to tighten the straps, but the shorts are actually really big and looked ridiculous lol

Jam with dates?

I can’t find any clear answers online. Does anyone know if you can make jam using dates as the sweetener and then use a water bath or pressure canner to can it?

Chicken pasta salad

I found this recipe on a low calorie diet Instagram account (I didn’t follow him as the majority of this posts weren’t clean, so I do not remember who it was), but it’s packed with flavor. It also yields a lot! I also switched the pasta for a sourdough pasta.

Base: 2 Grilled chicken breasts, 2 cups measured dried sourdough pasta from Italy; cooked, 1 cup peas, 1 pint grape tomatoes, 1/4- 1/2 of a red or white onion, 1 head of lettuce (I use butter or romaine).

Sauce: 1 avocado, 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt, a bunch or parsley or cilantro, 1-2 limes juiced, 1 garlic clove, salt and pepper to taste, blended all together.

So simple but it’s so good.

Powder Coated Steel Cookware

I don’t know where else to ask this, but does anyone know if powder coated steel cookware is safe? I’m finding mixed answers online. I’m specially looking at the blackstone outdoor flat top grills.

Fragrance Oils For Sale - Closing My Candle Business

I have decided to close my candle business after 8 years and have over 250 bottles of oil I'm trying to sell and get rid of, mostly from Flaming Candle and Natures Garden. I have a huge list written out with prices if anyone was interested. I also have some dye chips, liquid dye, and a few random items like a liquid soap base. I'm willing to ship them if you pay for shipping (I'm located in the US). Serious inquires only please. I can try messaging you the list? Or if anyone knows how I can make the list linkable that would be very helpful. Thank you!

Soft sheets help

My husband has hated 4 different brands of sateen cotton sheets (from Target and Amazon.) I believe they were all around 400 thread count. I don’t remember why he didn’t like them, but I feel like it was because they felt scratchy.

A year later we’re now trying again and I got 250 thread count percale cotton sheets from Target, which I swear are the same ones we have had for the past 8 years. And again, they’re scratchy.

I keep telling him he needs to give them time and they need a few washes but here we are.

Does anyone have any suggestions for soft but breathable sheets? I would like them to be cotton if possible. I also personally don’t like the sateen sheets because they have a shiny look to them but I’ll put my differences aside for some new freaking sheets.

Sorry if this has been asked before, I’m just at my wits end.

Should I put a “closing” sign up?

This will be my 5th year selling at this event. I decided to close my business and announced it a few months ago. The guy who runs this event is aware I’m closing and I actually have a few items in his shop. My stock is dwindling so this will most likely be my last event and I would like to get rid of as much as I can. I’m debating on whether or not I should put up some sort of sign saying that my business is closing. I see a lot of the same people at this event too. I know I’ll probably get sale questions and that’s fine. I would love some input!

I keep thinking about this garlic sauce I had at Kofta Burger in Syracuse, NY. If anyone has been I would be forever grateful on what you think is in this sauce. I’ve tried recreating it and the closest I’ve come is by using pickle juice because it almost had a vinegary taste to me. I tried using white vinegar but it wasn’t the same. The pickle juice was closer. It was also pretty watery, and there were no chunks in it. It was also pure white. I remember telling my husband that it was so garlicky but not “spicy”.

This burger place is described as an American eatery with inspiration from middle eastern flavors. If anyone even has any idea what could be in this sauce I’d be down to hear your thoughts.

An order for Lowe’s popped up for me on Wednesday and it would not let me click on it to see what the items were like it usually does. After accepting the order it said it was 4 dining chairs….. I get there and they obviously would not fit in my car. The agent I talked to said they’d cancel the order and give me half pay. I never got the half pay. I’ve been on and off with support since yesterday with conflicting information and finally got my damn half pay. It was only $5 but it was the principal at that point. Oh and I was told I’d be getting the $5 and I got $0.05… so I was back on chat with support yet again. I swear to god support for this company is absolute garbage.

I made this lime ice cream using honey as a sweetener but I have 2 issues that I would appreciate some input on. I would really like to avoid using gums, cane sugar, corn syrup, and any additives if possible.

  1. It’s a little icy (the last flavor I made was icy as well but I used date syrup not honey). I’m wondering if it’s from the lime juice or the hone

y? The last flavor I made was a cherry where I cooked them down but maybe not enough?

2.

  1. There’s an oily/ fatty feel on the roof of my mouth. The last flavor I made also had this problem. I’m wondering if I should do less heavy cream?

Recipe:

- 1 1/2 cup whole milk

-1 1/2 cup heavy cream (no gums in it)

- a little under 1/2 cup honey

- 4 egg yolks

- 2 limes juiced and zested

- pinch of salt

- Graham crackers

I added the lime juice right before I churned. Churned for 45 minutes, probably could’ve gone a little longer.
