Who are the Valkyries?

From Wiki

Valkyries guide souls of the dead to the god Odin's hall Valhalla. When the einherjar are not preparing for the cataclysmic events of Ragnarök, the valkyries bear them mead. Valkyries also appear as lovers of heroes and other mortals, where they are sometimes described as the daughters of royalty, sometimes accompanied by ravens and sometimes connected to swans, boars or wolves.

The wolf one is interesting as that’s associated with Spring Court. And who’s the HL of Spring? A warrior whose beast form is a wolf.

Difference between Spring Court wine and UTM wine

In Spring the wine Feyre drank is joyous and freeing...

How Feyre drinks wine in SPRING

"I said, and pointedly chugged the contents of the glass.” (Feyre willingly drinks the wine. It is her CHOICE)

'It was like a million fireworks exploding inside me, filling my veins with starlight. I laughed aloud'

'“I’m going to paint you,” I said, and giggled—actually giggled—as the words popped out.'

'I’d downed another glass of faerie wine. It was the most glorious thing I’d ever tasted. It liberated me from bonds I hadn’t known existed.'

'With each step, I savored the dampness of the grass beneath my bare feet.'

'I swayed on my feet as I watched the faeries dancing, circling the bonfire. Not formal dancing. It was like they were as loose as I was. Free. I loved them for it.'

'I began to dance in place before him. “I’ll look after her,” Tamlin murmured above the music, and I glowed, my dancing becoming faster."'

'Through it all, Tamlin and his musicians played such joyous music that I didn’t think the world could contain it all. I sashayed over to him, my faerie lord, my protector and warrior, my friend, and danced before him. He grinned at me, and I didn’t break my dancing as he rose from his seat and knelt before me in the grass, offering up a solo on his fiddle to me.'

***

I laughed so hard I thought I’d combust, and when I opened my eyes, I found Tamlin there, spinning me round and round. Everything became a blur of color and sound, and he was the only object in it, tethering me to sanity, to my body, which glowed and burned in every place he touched. I was filled with sunshine. It was like I’d never experienced summer before, like I’d never known who was waiting to emerge from that forest of ice and snow. I didn’t want it to end—I never wanted to leave this hilltop.

***

'I was as unburdened as a piece of dandelion fluff, and he was the wind that stirred me about the world. He smiled at me, and I found myself smiling back. I didn’t need to pretend, didn’t need to be anything but what I was right then,'

***

I glanced at Tamlin, biting my lip. I’d practically floated into my bedroom that morning. But Tamlin’s gaze now roved my face as if searching for any tinge of regret, of fear. Ridiculous.

“You bit my neck on Fire Night,” I said under my breath. “If I can face you after that, a few kisses are nothing.” (The next day Feyre remembers the night before while having drunk wine but she remembers NOTING UTM after that wine…LET THAT SINK IN!)

How Feyre drinks wine UTM

Alis to Feyre before she went UTM

'“Don’t drink the wine—it’s not like what we had at the Solstice, and will do more harm than good.'

***

He (RHYSAND) smiled, and extended the goblet again. “Drink. You’ll need it.” Drink, my mind echoed, and my fingers stirred, moving toward the goblet. No. No, Alis said not to drink the wine here—wine that was different from that joyous, freeing solstice wine.

“Drink,” he said, and my traitorous fingers latched onto the goblet.'He (RHYSAND) smiled, and extended the goblet again. “Drink. You’ll need it.”

No. No, Alis said not to drink the wine here—wine that was different from that joyous, freeing solstice wine. “No,” I said, and some faeries who were watching us from a safe distance chuckled.

“Drink,” he said, and my traitorous fingers latched onto the goblet.'

***

'I awoke in my cell, still clad in that handkerchief he called a dress. Everything was spinning so badly that I barely made it to the corner before I vomited.'

***

'He (RHYSAND) had me dance until I was sick, and once I was done retching, told me to begin dancing again.

I awoke ill and exhausted each morning, and though Rhysand’s order to the guards had indeed held, the nightly activities left me thoroughly drained. I spent my days sleeping off the faerie wine, dozing to escape the humiliation I endured.'

***

'Rhysand gave me that goblet of faerie wine and I could lose myself for a few hours. I stopped contemplating Amarantha’s riddle—it was impossible.’ (see how she stops working on the riddle which is what Rhysand wanted bc he could not have her guess it and free Tamlin)

***

'So I greedily drank the wine, and I stopped caring about who I was and what had once mattered to me. I stopped thinking about color, about light, about the green of Tamlin’s eyes—about all those things I had still wanted to paint and now would never get to.'

***

‘...waiting for Rhysand to beckon me to drink the wine and dance or do whatever it was he wished of me...'

Why is it so difficult to believe that Rhysand is daemati’ing Feyre when clues are everywhere??!?!?

On the first page of Chapter 15 in ACOWAR

Feyre is having a thought, remembering something and then...

THE THOUGHT RIPPLED AWAY INTO NOTHING AS RHYS APPEARED BY MY SIDE

rippled away? into nothing?

Are we supposed to just ignore this? She loses a thought as soon as Rhys shows up?

This is just one example there are so many others.

If it’s a theory you don’t like that's one thing, but it’s a very plausible theory because context clues are everywhere. And yes it’s a dark theory but it’s not out of the realm of possibility within the text and the story itself.

So tired of vibes readers calling Tamlin stupid

Came across this from a redditor "Tamlin looking stupid as always."

I really don’t think these kinds of readers actually read apart from dialogue and skimming.

Amarantha was obsessed with Tamlin. Do readers honestly think that this powerful High Fae who was Hybern’s right hand etc would be interested in a DUMB High Lord? She wanted him because he was the whole package.

Tamlin was a double agent and got more intel than the IC ever got.

Tamlin gave Feyre a clue to the riddle UTM in that closet while under the control/power of Rhysand and Amarantha.

Tamlin is the kind of character who was raised to be a fighter BUT he was a lover this whole time.

Tamlin didn’t want to flirt with Feyre because he didn’t want to use a human that way so his line about her hair being clean is not only sweet, it’s hilarious and a nod to Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Not to mention, we know that Tamlin has had many lovers of all kinds, so the dude has rizz.

You think a stupid character can learn to play the fiddle? That takes patience and time and skill and smarts. Ask any violinist how long they’ve been at perfecting their instrumental skills.

He basically predicted what was going to happen to Feyre, so he has foresight

He worked around Amarantha’s curse by talking around the curse as a way to give clues to Feyre. The whole heart of stone clues is why the bargain was broken and ultimately freed him to free others.

His biggest character flaw imo is he is too trusting and maybe some think that’s stupid but that just proves that his ‘heart of stone’ is actually a ‘heart of gold’.

Juliet, Naked

This movie is DELIGHTFUL.

Saw it years ago and still watch it once a year or more because it has that old school romcom charm. The dialogue is witty and the characters are fully fleshed out.

If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend.

The moments where Tamlin shows empathy

From Chapter 8 ACOTAR

How did she die?” When I lifted my brows, he added a bit more softly, “I didn’t see signs of an older woman in your house.”

Predator or not, I didn’t need his pity. But I said, “Typhus. When I was eight.” I rose from my seat to leave.

“Feyre,” Tamlin said, and I half turned. A muscle feathered in his cheek. Lucien glanced between us, that metal eye roving, but kept silent. Then Tamlin shook his head, the movement more animal than anything, and murmured, “I’m sorry for your loss.”

I think this scene shows just how different Feylin are. Feyre sees pity as a weakness but it is empathy that Tamlin is showing. Empathy is kindness.

It’s also another moment where Tamlin says, “I’m sorry” and takes on someone else’s pain. Almost like he’s a magical empath, which would have been something SJM could have explored. Or maybe still could.

He also took on the pain of his sentries deaths. He didn’t want them to do it and when they died he felt those deaths and the guilt and remorse for those deaths. He takes on the weight of the world. I think in FAS and SF with Tam in beast form it’s him taking on the pain and suffering and disappointment of the spring court people.

Rhysand’s knee tattoos

In the NC tattoos appear to be linked to bargains so who did Rhysand make a bargain with to get those tats on his knees?

What was Rhysand going to do in the cauldron scene?

Chapter 66 in MAF. What exactly was the HL of Lint going to do here with Hybern? Why did he tug Feyre along with him as he said this? Was he about to bargain Feyre away because what he was always after was that cauldron?

“If you’re so willing to hand out bargains, Rhys suddenly said, rising to his feet and tugging me with him, “perhaps I’ll make one with you.”

“Oh?”

Rhys shrugged.

The foreshadowing of Tamlin’s death...

“Against slavery, against tyranny, I would gladly go to my death, no matter whose freedom I was defending.”

I really think that this is a hint to how Tamlin will die a hero by helping or defending the NC/Hewn City people from quite possibly Rhysand who (I believe is evil). (Maybe even Feysand if she isn’t actually daemati’d)

I don’t want him to die BUT if it’s a heroic death than I’m okay with it.

What I would personally love is Feyre is released from bargains and tattoos and realizes she was indeed daemati’d this whole time and does in fact love Tamlin but it’s too late and this is what leads her down a darker path of vengeance against Rhysand and she burns it all to the ground alongside her sisters and changes the course of history for the better OR she goes fuller villain lol
