I’ve been playing the Sims 2 since it came out on disks, getting a new expansion pack as a gift on my birthday every time a new one was released. I’ve sent a lot of sims through university already, mainly family sims as I was building my large family.

Consistently over the years they would roll graduate want, pick xx as major want, befriend professor xx want, finish semester with high marks want (not sure if this is the correct English translation), and the finish period want (again, also not sure about translation)

Moreover, the sims would roll first kiss want, get engaged want, have whoo-hoo.

Now, for the past few days I’ve been playing a household with 1 pleasure sim, 1 knowledge sim and 2 rich/wealth sims but the only university specific wants they roll are “study together” and “go to college”. The rich/wealth sim keeps rolling wants to sell a successful novel or painting, the pleasure sim keeps rolling a want to buy a car.

As I was turning crazy by some wants I have installed some mods, for no more playing instruments, getting an electronic device, less pets obsession, and I’ve also installed the Personality Flavour of the Fewer Hobby Wants wants tree package.

Main question: am I just unlucky that their university wants are being overruled by hobby and free time wants or did I mess with the wants by installing all these mods?

I've planned 6 days in Ireland, no flying involved:

Friday Sept 18 + Saturday 19: travel from mainland Europe

Saturday Sept 19 arrival by ferry into Dublin at 16:45. Would rather move on to somewhere than stay in Dublin this night

Sunday Sept 20 - Tuesday Sept 22: flex, thinking of west coast

Tuesday 22: need to be back in Dublin for concert

Tues 22 - Fri 25: stay in Dublin, explore the region by taking the DART (no Belfast, will be visiting later).

Fri 25: 10:15 ferry (Stena Line) back to Holyhead and back to mainland Europe.

Could use some feedback on my either/or scenario: I was thinking of heading west on Saturday evening to Galway but am afraid it won't be easy to explore the nature of Connemara without a car and driver's license. Would Killarney be a better option then?

Have been to Dublin before so the three nights later in the week will be sufficient.

About me: i will travel solo, don't mind taking longer journeys or walking a bit (but I am not a hiker). I like taking numerous amount of pictures with my DSLR (water reflections are my newest thing), wandering through streets, thrifting a jigsaw puzzle in charity shops, be amazed by the beauty of nature, and generally dislike the taste of alcohol.

At the end of October I'm travelling to Belfast over land, not flying. For this trip I've got an Interrai pass available.

On day 1, Friday 23rd, I'll travel by Eurostar to the UK and then I've planned to go to Glasgow, isn't fixed.

On Tuesday 27th I'll take ferry to Belfast.

I need to be back in London on Oct 31st (time doesn't matter) as I'll travel back home on Sunday Nov 1st.

So 3 interrail travel days are already in use for travelling to the UK, back to London and from the UK back home.

For the first days [Saturday - Monday] I'm looking for some advice! I read about the nice train journey to Mallaig from Glasgow, taking you over the Harry Potter bridge. But will it be worth spending a night there? Or am I better off just returning back to Glasgow? Is there any other destination that can be reached from Mallaig or is returning back to Glasgow the only option?

Or would I be better off travelling to Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness on my first day?

And yes, I've checked the sleeper but it's very much fully booked to Inverness and Fort William.

Could use some advice on trains to take/destinations.

Will anything be open on a Sunday in such a small village, or is doing this on Saturday preferred?

Heb gisteren een achterkant gedaan om te oefenen en eigenlijk waar ik tegenaanloop: hoe lak je glad? Heb de lakviltroller gebruikt maar alsnog komt dat er “bobbelig” / “met structuur” op.
Had dat ook al met mijn muren verven, en kwast is helemaal drama.

Hoe kan ik gladder lakken? Andere lakviltrollers? Of juist eerst een beetje vochtig maken? Meer lak gebruiken?

I suddenly had a late night thought and wanted to hear some opinions or experiences.

I have bought Exceptionell high drawers to use in a tv furniture in the second hand corner / as if a few months back. Haven’t assembled them yet as I still need to paint the panels in Bodbyn colour.
When planning using the Metod/sektion planner it would let me put an inner 20 cm high drawer in a 40 cm drawer (in a 40 cm high cabinet).
I recently found out you cannot put 20 cm inner drawers in 40cm high drawers as the backboard (is this the correct English term?) is higher than 20 cm. The planner had used medium drawers and with those it will let you put this inner drawer in.

I hope my story is clear so far.

And because the Exceptionell drawers are out of stock, the only available medium drawer with the correct 60x37 cm size would be two countries over (I’m Europe based).

So I was wondering: can I purchase a medium Maximera drawer with the correct size and only use the backboard and the small side holder part (128536)? Because I’ve already got the mechanism and the bottle and sides of the drawer :)

I hope someone has been on this trip before and could advise me as I didn't get wiser from customer service.

I'd like to book a Rail & Sail service from London to Dublin. So that means departing from London Euston and transferring to a ferry in Holyhead. On Saturday Sept 19.

The planner gives me the following itinerary:

8:33 London Euston > Crewe 10:08

10:23 Crewe > Chester 10:44

10:53 Chester > Holyhead 12:40

13:15 ferry from Holyhead.

Seems fine. Except ferry check in closes 30 min before departure. So at 12:45. That would leave me 5 min to exit the train, the station, head over to the terminal and check in. All within 5 min.

There's another train leaving London Euston, at 8:02, with 1 change in Chester, arriving at 12:12 in Holyhead. Enough time to comfortably head over to the terminal and check in.

1. am I overthinking things?

2. is it possible to get a Rail & Sail ticket with the 8:02 departure? I haven't been able to find an "extend transfer time" option like DB has. And as the planning sees the 12:40 > 13:15 as a 35-min transfer time I'm not sure how this would work out.

3. Why are they even offering such a short connection time in Holyhead? Irish Ferries customer service confirmed it's a recognised connection and you'll be allowed to board the next ferry in case of missing the 13:15 connection. But I'd rather take an earlier train out of London to make sure I'm making the connection.

Any tips, tricks, explanation?

I have designed stacked Metod cabinets in a ] shape. The bottom row is 180 cm so I cut a bit off the 200 cm suspension rail. The vertical part is just one cabinet wide, 60 cm so I cut that (actually 59 cm) off a second rail.

Now the top row will actually consist of 2x 80 cm + 1x 60 cm wide cabinets = 220 cm. The third rail will be too short at 200 cm. So do I add the 20 cm part from the first rail? Or do I cut 160 + 60 cm or 80 + 140 cm rail and mount them next to each other on the wall?

In May I took a train home from Vienna to the Netherlands, booked through Bahn. We had some delay but only arrived 30 min after planned arrival time so no biggie and not enough to claim for compensation.

Now I wanna book a ticket from NL through Osnabrück and Hamburg to Copenhagen and I cannot get the code to work. I want the whole trip booked on 1 ticket for passenger rights :)

So am I right it can only be used on trains in Germany that stay within Germany? Any tips and tricks how to use the code? Like is it possible to book to a Germany city and “transfer” to the current train for the German part of the route?

I will be travelling to Düsseldorf for the BSB concerts in October as well, any chance of using it for that trip?

I am designing a tv cabinet using METOD cabinets. I was advised to use the rail to mount the cabinets. And for cover up to use the cover panels. Unfortunately, the sizes of the cover panels are limited meaning I'd have to cut them themselves. When using the planner you can also add a cover panel, for instance for the 40cm high cabinet (37 cm depth) it will add the 62x80 cm cover panel. If I place the order through the planner, will they deliver the cover panels in the correct size or do I still have to cut them myself?

I’ve designed my own tv cabinet using METOD base elements and Veddinge doors (also with Stensund display cabinet doors).

In the shop I was advised to use the rail so all cabinets would be on the same height. To cover up the gap between the cabinet and the wall they told me I could use the side panels. Back home I wanted to place my order and then I found out there are no Veddinge side panels. Why would Ikea sells these elements for a kitchen and not have the matching side panels?

Is there an alternative to the Veddinge line? Could Förbättra be used? Or is the Stensund side panel a smooth one unlike their doors?

I want to book Budapest Keleti to Wien Hbf/Wien Meidling on Monday May 11th but every time I reach the payment page I get this error: “failed reservation” A kérésben kapott pénztár eszköz eltér a pénztárhasználat pénztár eszközétől.

Google translate isn’t very helpful, does anyone know what it means and how to avoid it? ÖBB prices are 2x MÁV’s 😬
