Curren Caples Skate

Bought these on the website for a grand total of $33.58, ship to store so no shipping fees. Went into the store to pick up and they were still selling them at FULL PRICE on the shelf for $90. Got em for a damn steal!

If you’re struggling with an Ollie, the technique in this video finally made a click for me

Maybe it’ll help you. The concept of keeping all the weight on the front foot and popping with the back foot really made it work for me. Got some great air.

Before I was trying to jump with the front foot and pop after the jump

Feels like I’m moving much faster than I actually am

Been skating on a tail board for about 2 months now. Previously skated on a longboard for about 20 years.

I went to the skatepark this morning and was fortunate to be the only one there for almost an hour. So I recorded myself doing my thing.

Watching it back, I can’t believe how slow I’m moving. But from my perspective I feel like I’m going really fast

In for 100 out for 500 plying the dark side

I was playing in Tampa and when I rolled up to the table and this old guy had convinced everyone on his side of the table to play don’t pass. I wasn’t doing it until I was down to my last $25 chip (25 min table) so I said fuck it and joined the dark side, pulled myself up from that last 25 to 500 playing field bets and the don’t pass line. We had 4 people all playing don’t pass and raking it in.

Like most old gamblers, the guy had a long winded theory about why don’t pass was the best way to play but the one that stuck with me was ”some shooters will get mad at you for playing don’t, but you’re not really playing against the shooters, you’re just playing with the house and getting nearly house odds”

Good luck, have fun, don’t die.

Just watched this movie last night, and it’s not a matrix movie specifically but it fits the premise. The matrix is a much more serious movie, this one throws a lot of humor in the mix.

The basic story is an AI trying to enslave humanity by creating a perfect virtual world. Made me think of the first versions of the matrix that the humans kept rejecting because it was too perfect and utopian.

This movie was good, but there were so many unanswered questions by the end. The matrix does a better job of answering its own questions.

Litera alternatives that won’t break the bank?

Up until last year I worked at a 500 lawyer firm and now I work at a 25 lawyer firm. At the big firm everyone was given access to Litera. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a software tool that compares documents to make redlines and also has a function to analyze contracts for inconsistencies like wrong section numbering, inconsistent phrasing, misplaced punctuation, etc. Like souped up spell check, but it is not gen AI and did not connect to a cloud for processing. Everything stays on your computer.

I looked into getting this for my current office. I think I would be very helpful. But it’s way too expensive for a firm of our size.

Does anyone know any legit alternatives that are not $2k per license seat and do the same thing and can be trusted to not send the document analysis to a cloud for processing?

Edit: to be clear , litera does do redlines but that’s my my primary focus. more interested in finding an alternative to the their contract companion, the consistency review tool.

My timeline to begin selling my house is about 13 months, after my oldest kid graduates high school in 2027. So that gives a good runway to knock out some repairs. Water heater is new as of this year, front door is new from last year, and the roof is 4 years old. For the other stuff, what is best left to the potential buyer?

• one of the bathtubs is very crusty and chipping
• the house came with cheap vinyl flooring that is bowing and chipping in the high traffic areas
• there are some drywall repairs that need to be done. Some are a must, but the biggest is a prior owner clearly diy’ed a wall that used two pieces of sheet rock and the seam is very visible.
• exterior paint? Not sure when the last time the house was painted.
• electrical panel looks like it’s still the original from the 80s.
• landscaping? It’s not terrible but not great either

I’m thinking out of all those, the drywall, exterior paint, and tub are the top priority.

Edit: thanks for all the input. Good stuff to think about

A house in my neighborhood by the citrus park mall burned down this week. Family with kids. Thankfully no one was seriously injured.

If you have a few dollars to spare, a family member who was visiting them at the time set up a go fund me to help with ongoing expenses.
