What other massive series do you enjoy as a malazan fan?

Wheel of Time was my favorite world prior to getting through Malazan. Malazan is a firm first place holder. I like both works because of the massive world building and character plotline interweaving and convergence that occur in both. I have received a lot of recommendations for much smaller works which are fine and I may eventually get to but I am most certainly looking for another massive epic fantasy.

If youre not into PtA youre missing out!

I just saw the scene where Greymane gets his name! So f'n cool. I really am enjoying learning all the little snippets of characters before the "main" storyline. I heard mention of Skinner too and other people before making it to the Crimson Guard. Oh and my favorite, Dujek's young captain Jack....

Are there different styles of magery?

After getting through blood and bone with the thaumaturgs and then reading Deadhouse Landing with Kel talking about studying Thaumaturgy it made me wonder if there are different types of mage studies or if its just different names for the same thing.

regarding cousins

So Nightchill is looking into the Deadhouse. Shes studying Emurlahn. She refers to people as cousins. I think she refers to Krul as brother. She was there at d the curse of Kallor. (Also regarding chaining as i thought she was at the first chaining but putting that aside. I saw that the second chaining of kaminsod was 1000 years before Gardens of the Moon which would make Dassem, Dancer, and Kellanved over 1000 years old? Am i mixing stuff up?)

She mentions cousins like Agayla and I only remember agayla as the sorceres that was ward of Kiska. Agayla also was in touch with T'riss who sent Kiska on the journey to find Tayschren.

Is Agayla an Azathani? Nightchill refers to Azathani as if they are some kind of race of people or something.

I’m loving the connections in PtA

The talk of emurlahn. the rylandaras stuff. seeing some of the mages from CG prior to being avowed. all super cool. The interaction with Dancer and Kel is awesome. Dancer finding the talon after the events at ularas foreshadowing the creation of his assassins guild. so fn cool.

I’m thinking Ulara is like Bottle in being able to see through the birds
