Using Lego or toys for wargaming?

As a collector of Lego and a fan of using toys such as Micro Machines, how would you feel using them or playing against them? Would it depend on the theme of the battle and who you were playing against? In my opinion, as much as painted models generally look better, I do find things like Lego quicker and easier to get to the table, and I know a handful of people who love building a tonne of Lego.

Micro Machines Army for Warsurge

I've expanded my Micro Machines collection a bit as I plan to use them for Warsurge. Just a little showcase of my WIP. Got the Faction code if anyone wants it, fairly simple and incomplete still:

Music and sounds are from Command & Conquer!

Warsurge and War Factory

So, just sharing pics of a game and that I'm looking forward to the war factory mode coming to Warsurge. I set up and played a round inspired by the classic Command & Conquer RTS game (hence the overlay for fun). Here's the roster code for those who want to check it out but it's nothing fancy, in fact it's pretty simple (need the free app to view it though).

USR-RSTR-V001-0000-B7312329-914D-F111-8EF3-000D3AE0C075

That we'll be able to make our own custom RTS style armies is pretty neat IMHO.

Warsurge casual rules with Micro Machines as C&C (Command & Conquer)

So, just sharing pics of a tabletop game I played using my Micro Machines, and that I'm looking forward to the war factory mode coming to Warsurge (a game that allows me to play with my MM). I set up and played a round inspired by the classic Command & Conquer RTS game (hence the overlay for fun). Here's the roster code for those who want to check it out (need the free app to view it though).

That we'll be able to make our own custom RTS style armies is pretty neat IMHO. I often compared C&C and Micro Machines while growing up, probably inspired most of my friends to collect actually.

Played a game using Legend of Zelda, Nexo Knights and some misc (like Bionicle) for a crossover battle at 800 points. Used the casual rules, had Hyrule castle ruins and some rocks as objectives.

Most people use Warsurge for gaming with miniatures, but it’s been great for Lego too.

I like how you can customise your own units and weapons (for example, Link’s sword could attack at range when he was at full health). If you want to download the rosters we used, they’re here:

Zelda & Nexo Knights

Ganon’s Onslaught

USR-RSTR-V001-0000-9D4E881C-6D4A-F111-8EF3-000D3AE0C075

Ganon’s side won by hogging as many objectives as possible (pun intended given Ganon was in his big pig form). Hope you like the pics.
