It feels like I become a different person when I’m away from the hoard

Anyone relate? I feel like every time I leave, I thrive.
Every time I return for an extended stay, I get insecure and lost. My self esteem issues return. I don’t maintain my friendships. I don’t groom myself as well. I don’t have high standards or aspirations for my life. I feel hopeless.

But then I leave, and life’s great again.

I wonder what the mental phenomenon behind this is.

Do hoarders raise people pleasers and ultra respectful children?

I am a people pleaser. I am selfless to a fault. And I am afraid to anger my hoarder mother by bringing up her filthy house and how that negatively impacted and continues to impact my life.
I believe that these character traits were cultivated by my mother, for her benefit.

I watch my friend’s interacting with their picture perfect family’s and they have no problem voicing their feelings. They don’t beat around the bush, they don’t have to use fluffy language, and they don’t have to worry about protecting other’s emotional wellbeing.

Sometimes I also get angry when I think about what a good child I’ve been to my mother, who is so undeserving.
I’m starting to think that hoarders raise children they can manipulate and control, even well into adulthood.

Does anyone else relate to this?

How do you prepare the pizza crust?

Any hacks? Do you wet the dough before, drizzle oil, bake it partially, then do toppings? Any fun ways to spruce it up (vegetarian)?

Thanks!

Health effects of a hoarder home?

My mother’s hoard has gotten really bad over the last few years. Plus, she never cleans, so there is grime/dust everywhere, along with mold in the bathrooms. She has developed asthma, vertigo, a lingering cough, and now I believe she has literally lost IQ points. I remember her being sharp and witty. (she is only in her 50s, no dementia).

Today, I mentioned to her that I believe her health conditions are related to the uncleanliness, and she was very offended and said it’s impossible blah blah blah.

So, I’m curious if any of you here have any input or relate to this.

TLDR: Has your hoarder parent gotten dumber as the hoard grew? Or developed strange health conditions?

HOW could she possibly forgive and stay with B?

My husband accidentally dropped our baby this morning causing a severe bruise on his head, and I am having thoughts about leaving him (has shown other negligent behavior as well). I cannot imagine forgiving him, staying with him, let alone calling him the best dad ever, if he god forbid caused the death of our son.

I don’t understand the behavior E’s demonstrating. Did she not love T1?

How do I know which prerequisites to take at a community college?

I’m currently finishing my bachelors in criminal justice (big mistake) and looking to start a career in nursing. I want to take prerequisites for an ABSN at a community college, but how do I know which classes I’ll need to take?

Fading bug bites on stomach and legs?

I have mosquito and noseeum bug bite scars all over my legs and stomach that I’m super insecure about. I got them about 7 months ago and they’re still so dark. Has anyone had success fading scars like this?

Hi! I am moving from NYC to Raleigh for work. I am absolutely terrified of bugs, but especially roaches, and flying insects. I know that NC has flying roaches, and I am just wondering how avoidable they are? I will be living in NorthEast Raleigh. If I stay downtown and in a more urban setting, will I be able to avoid seeing and coming in contact with these bugs?

Please, I know how ridiculous this sounds but my phobia is real. If you have any insight and tips I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks!
