Cream eye shadow recommendations?

I recently got a cream eye shadow (Wander Beauty), and once I got the hang of it, I've really liked the formula. Unfortunately, it comes partnered with a powdered eyeshadow that I hate, so I don't really want to buy more of the same brand in other colors (they don't appear to sell them separately). I would like other colors to work with, though. I would really love to get a palette, but I can do singles if there are no good pallette options.

Does anyone have other cream shadows they'd recommend, especially as a palette?

(Btw, I've also tried the Laura Mercier Caviar eyeshadow stick and didn't love it, so I'm not sure I'm crazy about the stick format. I'd prefer a pot, if possible.)

Anxiety with finishing products?

So I'm new to this, and I've already discovered that I have some hoarding tendencies (which I kind of already knew, to be honest). In some ways, learning about this panning mindset has been really great, because it feels like it's giving me permission to use and enjoy my products instead of feeling guilty for using them. And that has been really, really awesome and fun.

Until now. 😂

Most of what I'm focusing on right now are the 2000 samples of things I've acquired and have been saving for "special occasions" because they're nicer products, but I do have a few larger containers of products I like. And I'm finding as I get closer to the end, I'm getting very anxious. For example, I have this face serum I really like. I also have like five serums waiting in the wings for when I finish it. But I find myself thinking things like "I should use less" or "maybe I should only use it at night" because I know once it's gone, I'm not going to buy more. Even though I know that if I replaced it now, it would go at the end of the line and I wouldn't touch the replacement for like a year.

Does anyone else experience this anxiety, and if so, do you have any tips for how you deal with it? Even just things you tell yourself to reorient how you're thinking about this?

TIA!

Thoughts on these items? (Especially karma beauty shampoo/conditioner)

Does anyone have thoughts or opinions on these items?

KARMA BEAUTY Hair Bestie Bundle Shampoo & Conditioner - This one is the real reason I'm considering placing an order. I do need a new shampoo/conditioner, but I'm not at all familiar with this brand. Does anyone have experience with them?

Body creams: I'm on the hunt for a good body cream, but I have no experience with any of these brands, so I'll not sure which one would be best to try. Once again, I'm wondering if anyone has experience or recommendations?

* VOESH Body Balm

* JUARA SKINCARE Tiare Jasmine Body Creme

* KOPARI BEAUTY KP Body Bumps Be Gone Smoothing Body Lotion

Others:

* RODIAL Vit C Drops - This looks like a good deal, but again, I've never used this brand before. I'm currently leaving towards removing this from my basket.

* NARS COSMETICS Total Seduction Longwear Cream Eyeshadow Stick - I want to try more cream eye shadows, but this didn't fall into that "only a couple bucks so I might as well try it" category. I'm thinking I'll probably remove this one.

* DR. BRANDT SKINCARE Pores No More® Luminizer Primer - I've used a different Pores No More primer from then and liked it, but this is only a deluxe mini and I hardly ever wear primer, so I'll probably remove this one.

* DALLAS & JAMES SKINCARE CO. Watermelon Dream Overnight Glow Mask - I've wanted to try an overnight mask. This seems cute and fun, and it's cheap. I'll probably get this if I place an order.

* CROWN HAIR SOCIETY Leave In Treatment - Not an amazing deal price wise, but sounds extremely low effort, which is how I like my hair care. I'll probably get this one.

* BEAUTOLOGY LAB 24K Gold Collagen Eye Masks - Fun, and it's only $2, but that's also for only one pair. I'm completely up in the air on this one. It might depend on what my total turns out to be.

Opinions in PinkSeoul?

Does anyone have any experience with PinkSeoul, either the regular box or the plus box? I like the looks of it from the mysubscriptionaddiction reviews, but I'd love to get a second (third, fourth...) opinion.

August Ipsy Original first impressions

First impressions of my second Ipsy original bag, plus some add-ons:

FAB Brighten + Glow Facial Radiance Pads - Honestly, this is exactly the kind of thing I want in a beauty box. I never would have purchased it for myself, but I'm excited to try it!

Pistaché Skincare Pistachio Body Butter - I'm actually currently in the market for a good body butter or body lotion. On one hand, I'm looking forward to trying out and it will definitely get used. On the other hand, it's unlikely to be "the one" for me because of the price. And the size is pretty small for something that's a body product rather than a face product. This will not go very far. Still, it's definitely something I'll use.

Real Perfection Sponge + Case - Okay, I guess? I've been using the same beauty blender for years, so it probably does need to be replaced, but I can't pretend to be overly excited about it.

Milani Keep It Full Nourishing Lip Plumper in Prismatic Peach - This one is a miss for me. I don't like the texture or the appearance. It kind of feels gritty, like there actually glitter in it. I have no idea why I picked it - it's not my kind of thing at all. I guess the other options must have been even less appealing? Either way, not a fan. Anyone have ideas for other uses for a lip plumper?

Sonäge Skincar Luster Eye Creme (add on AND in the bag) - I like for my bag to be a surprise, so I make an intentional effort not to look at the reveal. Unfortunately, that means in this case I got something as an add-on that was also in my bag. Oops. The good news is that they very literally picked something for me that I would pick for myself. I've been needing an eye cream, so it's a good item for me. Hopefully I like it enough to use two of them...

Pinky B Cosmetics Had Me At Setting Spray (add on) - I've caved and admitted I need a setting spray, at least for special occasions, even though I hate how they make my skin feel. We'll see how I feel about it after I try it. At least if I hate it, I didn't spend a lot on it.

Āthr Beauty Desert Mirage Blurring Powder (add on) - I was worried when I opened this that it would be too shimmery, but I didn't see anything noticeably sparkly when I put it on. I'm not sure I saw anything at all, tbh, but I was in hurry. I'll play with it a bit and see how I feel about it.

I'm pretty happy overall, although I have to note that I got the subscription for the makeup more than the skincare, and the only makeup item I received was one I didn't like at all. Still, apart from the lip plumper, I think everything here will get used, and I feel like I got my money's worth.

Good tinted lip balms?

I'm realizing I'm not a lipstick person. It wears off quickly and unevenly so that it looks weird, it gets all over my drinking vessel, and it's a pain to reapply. I already knew I wasn't a lip gloss person because I can't stand for my lips to feel slimy. So now I'm wondering, are there some good tinted lip balms out there? I know it won't be bold color, and that's completely fine. Just something to give my lips a little bit of color. I'm hoping for something creamy that soaks in as opposed to something that just kind of sits on top of the skin feeling messy. Any suggestions?

TIA!

Has anyone actually gotten their Birchbox (or a refund)?

I know we've all been complaining about our disastrous experiences with Birchbox, but I'm just wondering - has ANYONE who didn't receive their box actually had Birchbox make it right? Has anyone either had their box show up or received a refund?

I'm just trying to figure out if there's any hope at all of them making this right and it's just taking a while, or if they're just straight up lying to everyone who didn't get their box...

What is "too much?"?

I'm kind of new to skincare beyond just a cleanser and moisturizer, and I'm currently eyeballs-deep in a hyperfixation on it. So I have gone from 0 to 100 overnight in terms of interest and investment, and it's sort of a hobby at the moment. So my inclination is to do All The Things, but I see a lot of warnings against that, so I'm trying to rein myself in. I know to only introduce one more product at a time so if I have a reaction, I know what's causing it, but are there other guidelines? Are there specific things that definitely shouldn't be combined with each other? Or should I be okay as long as I'm just introducing one product at a time and then evaluating?

Best face products for after shaving?

I have to shave my facial hair (thanks PCOS), and I always have irritation afterwards, especially on my neck. I've been using Tend Skin to help with this, but I've recently been told I shouldn't use it every day because of how drying and harsh it is. Has anyone had particularly good luck with any products to use after shaving to minimize irritation? I moisturize as well, but I need something a little heavier duty for the irritation. I'd appreciate actual product names if possible, not just ingredients.

(While we're on it, if anyone has a shaving cream/oil/whatever that they've found is particularly great for avoiding the irritation in the first place, I'd love those recommendations too, especially if it's something that won't horribly dry my skin.)

I apologize if this is a repeat - I'm sure this has probably been discussed before, but when I searched for it, I couldn't find it.

TIA for the help!

Skincare recommendations for hirsutism?

I've had significant hirsutism (coarse, dark hair) my entire adult life, likely as a result of combined PCOS and a medication that I absolutely must take. I've tried YEARS of laser hair removal and electrolysis, and they helped some (probably a 20% improvement over about 14 years). Now I live somewhere where I don't have access to either of those two options. So that leaves me with shaving. But I really struggle not to have a lot of skin irritation when I shave.

So my question isn't really about hair removal, but about skincare. Does anyone else in this boat have tips for actually getting your face smooth? I feel like I'm always prickly and irritated, no matter what I do. The more aggressive I am shaving, the more irritation I have. The less aggressive I am, the more prickliness I have.

My current routine:

-Use my Braun device about 1x/week (not that it helps, as far as I can tell)

-Shave daily in the shower using a Daisy disposable razor. (I have a nice razor that I use for body hair, but those strips on the Daisy razors are the best thing I've found so far for lubricant for my face.)

-After the shower, I apply TendSkin. (This helps quite a bit with the irritation, but doesn't get me to 100%).

-Wait until skin is dry, then apply moisturizer.

Does anyone have a different system that works better, or any advice for changes I can make? Bonus if it's not crazy expensive, although I'll happily take expensive suggestions too, even if I can't implement them right now.

Expired items in beauty boxes?

I initially posted this question in the r/makeupaddiction subreddit, and I got helpful answers that basically said most beauty items don't have expiration dates, only "X amount of time after opening." But I always see people talking about checking the expiration dates on products they receive in a beauty box, because sometimes they send expired products. I wanted to check the dates on some items I got in new subs, as well as check the dates on some old, unopened items from the last time I did subscription boxes.

However, I haven't found a single expiration date on ANY of my products, new or old. How are people checking these dates? I feel like I must be missing something very, very obvious...

Does anyone know what brand this is?

I got a sample of this snail serum at some point - I have no idea where or when - and finally used it, and I really like it. My skin feels super soft after using it for a couple days. But I threw out the box, and it doesn't have a brand name on it. I found it on Amazon using Google lens, but the product posting kind of looks questionable to me. The brand is supposedly Easilydays, which I've never heard of and seems to only sell on Amazon. I assumed it was probably a fake/imitation, but I can't find it anywhere else. The closest I can find is on sites like Shein, but a) the label isn't quite identical, b) I don't really trust products from those sites either. Has anyone ever seen this product or this brand before?

Best products for dry lips?

I did a search and it looks like all the past posts on this are at least a couple years old, so I'm posting again in case there's something new and exciting on the market.

I recently moved to a very dry climate, and it's starting to really bother my lips. I use a beeswax chapstick, but it's not quite keeping up. I can't stand the feeling of vasoline, so that one is off the table for me. I see lots of recommendations for Laneige sleeping lip mask, but I use a CPAP at night, so an overnight product isn't an option for me.

So with that in mind, what are your holy grail lip care items for dry lips?

TIA!

Best powder for desert climate?

Does anyone have recommendations for a finishing powder that works well in a VERY dry desert climate? I grew up the desert and could never wear any kind of face makeup without it immediately cracking and caking, but I could wear it fine once I moved somewhere more humid. Now I don't really wear face makeup, but I do want to get some kind of finishing powder or something I can wear over my eye makeup and just as a general face product to even things out a little or make my skin look a little nicer. But now that I live in the desert again, I know some options won't work, so I'm hesitant to drop $50+ on something like Charlotte Tilbury when I know there's a decent chance I won't be able to use it. I've tried finishing sprays before and I really don't like how they feel, so I'd rather not go that route. I'm early 40s, mildly sensitive skin (acne prone with the wrong products), and normal-for-the-desert dry skin. I don't want anything heavy, like a liquid fountain - just something light and fast. Have any other desert folks found something that works well?

TIA!

Best box for nice makeup?

I'm in my 40s, and haven't really worn makeup in years due to health issues. Now I'm starting to wear makeup again, but most of what I have is nearly 10 years old, so I'm basically restocking from scratch. I kind of don't know what to get, so beauty boxes seemed like a good option, but it seems like most of what I'm seeing is targeting a more adventurous crowd (I strongly prefer a natural look with neutral tones and matte options) or is more skincare focused than makeup. I've ordered an Ipsy and Birchbox (although I didn't love the options on that one, so I might go ahead and cancel it), but I'm wondering if there's a better option out there? I have sensitive skin and eyes and haven't had great luck with drugstore quality makeup, so I'd rather pay a little more for the nicer stuff, especially because I expect it will last me a while. I don't mind some skincare products, but I'm definitely in it to find makeup, not skincare.

Any suggestions?
