Those two guys who used to do 2v2s on Haroshaje all the time.

Hey everyone, a while ago, those two guys who played on Haroshaje all the time published a book. They’ve since done another one and I told them id post it here. They both have kids now and hardly game at all but they want to to get back into SD2. Anyway, their book looks pretty cool. Alternate history of Vietnam. Never seen one before. I’m going to read it.

What if the Watergate break in was never discovered?

Just found an alternate history book with that premise called “Linebacker III: an Alternate History of the Vietnam War”.

The idea is that if Nixon had been in office, he may have been more committed to the idea of not letting South Vietnam fall on his watch. This would have lead to a stand off with the heavily democratically controlled congress. Ultimately, Nixon orders the bombing in 1975, saving South Vietnam, at least for a time, but he is impeached and convicted. Definitely worth a read, very good alternate history.

The first alternate history book about South Vietnam. Linebacker III: an Alternate History of the Vietnam War.

Hey everyone, a while back I posted in here because two people I know were writing an alternate history book where South Vietnam didn’t fall in 1975.

It’s finally been published. I know the authors did almost 2 years of research for it and that the main character is a South Vietnamese Army officer.

It’s called Linebacker III: an Alternate History of the Vietnam War. I figured I would post in here because it’s such a niche topic and maybe some in here would enjoy it. Here’s the link: https://a.co/d/0bGX15SK

Status adjustment question

Does anyone know if a woman (wife) having a new born (US citizen) will be a reason for USCIS to not require consular processing for status adjustment?

With the new memo, I know the default is supposed to be consular processing but we also haven’t had very long to see how that’s going to be implemented. My wife is about to give birth and we have a pending I-130 and I-485. We had our interview right before the memo came out.

Is the pregnancy/new born enough to get them to make an exception to consular processing?

Does anyone know if my timeline is messed up?

I (a natural born US citizen) submitted an I-130 for my wife (Chinese citizen who was here on a non immigrant work visa) on March 1st.

On may 13th we had the interview for her I-485. Everything seemed to go well.

Both things still show as pending on the USCIS website and it says they don’t need anything from us right now. She has no criminal record, no over stays, no unauthorized work, nothing that should give us a hiccup.

Is this amount of time normal?

Never played played before but I am a re-enactor and seeing the trailer for the Revolutionary war expansion, I’m in. Can anyone answer my questions below? I’ll be a week before I play.

What’s the max effective range of the rifles vs the muskets?

What’s the reloading time musket vs rifle?

Is bullet drop a thing?

Can you change the grain loads in the weapons?

Game seems super awesome and I’m stoked to play. I’ve always loved the flintlock age and I’ve never played a video game that has them.

Let’s say the US launches operation Linebacker III in march of 1975, dealing heavy damage to the NVA and allowing the ARVN to regroup.

With the ARVN being supported by US AirPower and naval guns like they were in 1972, the NVA are driven back with heavy losses, again, similar to 1972. What does south Vietnam look like going into 1976? Do they survive beyond that? Does North Vietnam have the ability to try again in 76 or 77? Or the Soviets twist their arm into restraint as the North Vietnamese get tied up in Cambodia and in their conflict with China?

Atlantic Resolve: the War for Estonia. Near future, realistic military world. Pretty good book that imagines the trajectory of the Russian army by 2033 and how a limited conflict would go down if they attempted to bite off a piece of Estonia.

The book starts off by constructing the world of 2033 with a timeline that takes you from present day to 2033.

Then it picks up with the major country leaders before taking you to front line units. It bounces back and forth between the different perspectives.

Very interesting the way they imagine the advancement of drones and counter drone tech, how stealth AirPower would still be in play, and the role of bread and butter stuff like massed artillery.

Over all, very good read, only about 250 pages so it can be done fast.

Their timeline starts exactly like this. Trump in office and very much calling into question whether the US will remain in NATO officially and telegraphing that we might not react to a Russian incursion even if we are in NATO.

Russia spend a few years doing their classic “exercises” on the border of Estonia, forcing them to mobilize again and again.

Eventually, Russian forces walk forces over the border and dare Estonians to fire first. The situation escalates from there. Very well written and timely.
