The next workplace nightmare: managers using AI to challenge developers
We're heading toward a world where actual developers get hounded with technical questions by managers who have zero development experience.
"Are you sure using REST here is the best approach? My AI search says SOAP would be best here". Or something of the sort. This already kind of occurred in my job, where a development standards article that was 85% generated with AI was introduced to the dev team.
IDK about you guys, but nothing is more annoying than people talking or complaining about something they know nothing about.
The best therapist known to mankind
you already started by acknowledging your negative thoughts
your breathing is starting to normalize
breathe innnnn now outttt
you are capable
take time to remind yourself of that
This scene was low-key funny, as all Camille really needed was a therapist to talk to. When the AI said, "you are looking for an argument, I will not engage", I literally LOL'd so hard. If I said that to my GF, she would flip shit. "Don't tell me to relax! I just want to talk not ARGUE GAAAHHHH!!! I have to take care of the entire silo and you do absolutely nothing but judge me and tell me what to do"
RIP Nimsdai Purja and the other 9 members
This game reminded me of how dangerous mountain climbing is. Because I've died plenty of times playing the game with a controller. Not trying to down play it if that is what is coming out like how I said it.
The Ole Fake Violinist Panhandler Scam at the North Walmart today
I'm only aware of this scam because of a viral video where a woman was using her child as the fake violinist, and people were falling for it hardcore, including myself. I'm all for helping people, but this type of panhandling I will not support.
Mao's Great Famine (2024) [00:51:08]
etween 1958 and 1962, China lived through tragedy on an epic scale. The “Great Leap Forward” – conceived by Mao so that China could drive industrial output ahead of Great Britain and achieve autonomy from the might of the neighbouring USSR – led to a catastrophic famine resulting in the death of between 36 and 55 million people. “Three years of natural disasters”: it is in these terms that the Chinese Communist Party today justifies this terrible outcome. But the tragedy was masked by an official lie, because while China was starving to death, the grain stores were full. Based on previously unheard testimony by survivors, rare archive footage, secret documents and interviews with the leading historians on this catastrophe, this film provides, for the first time, an insight into the folly of the “Great Leap Forward”. It examines the mechanisms and political decisions that led to famine, stripping away the incredible secrecy surrounding the campaign, and exposing the lie which continues even today as to who was responsible, and the true human cost.
Odysseus was smart enough to create the Trojan Horse, but not smart enough to leave the super heavy horse trophy more than 25 feet from the tide, where his men have to stay in for days, and some end up drowning
Smart!
Your opinion on Nolan's Odyssey movie is 100% dependent on how much you know and love the original story
Growing up, The Odyssey was my first introduction to epic and hero stories. It had everything.
This movie doesn't do it justice. I give it a 6/10 for its portrayal of the original story.
Overall, I was expecting way more, and this movie underdelivered and was quite boring.
The more you know and love the original story, the less you will like this film.
When liberals say they don't care about race swapping because "it's just fantasy"
Black Panther is a fantasy, so they don't care if he is played by a white guy, right? Right????
I'm in a horror movie, I won't kill my attackers until the end of the film
It's so frustrating how these main characters have chances to kill their attackers and make it out Scott free. However, they just somehow choose not too for whatever reason.
High desert rain is intoxicating
I'm from the Midwest, and our thunderstorms are massive and intimidating and beautiful in their own right. However, when this area gets rainy, the smell is unlike anything I've ever experienced before.
It feels like extra life and oxygen is being pumped into the air if that makes sense.
Edit: found a wax that kind of matches the scent

Is anyone even shopping at BAM stores anymore?
I'm not into LEGO, but even if I were hardcore into it, I couldn't bring myself to enter a BAM store ever again. I know this hurts the franchise owners, but ultimately Ammon and his brother are at fault. I can't support lining their pockets, even if it hurts the store owners as well. All we can hope is that the brothers sell the store and then the company can begin to heal and make a huge rebound.
If the brothers stay in ownership, I believe the store is doomed.
Nevada state fair is going on and this construction on William Street is embarrassing AF
Do better politicians. This project shouldn't take a decade
Costco steaks
Does anyone with a membership know if Costco has tomahawk steaks? I saw a tik Tok video of a dude at a different Costco selling prime tomahawks for like $14.99 a pound. I called them but they don't have a meat department phone.
The Boys had a GoT Season 8 The Bells Moment
Context: In Game of Thrones Season 8, episode 5, Daenerys Targaryen has won the battle, and everything is fine. And then, she hears bells ringing and completely switches up on a moment's notice, and then destroys the entire city with her dragon, killing many innocent people.
>!The same thing happens with Butcher here. They won, everything is fine. Then he sees his dog Terror is dead, and all of a sudden wants to kill all of the supes.!<
For those who don't know what I'm mentioning. The boys had a scene where they're using the audio from a horrible event where Homelander leaves the people on a crashing plane to all die. The boys' marketing team employs TikTokers to make videos to give the sense that the video with Homelander is fake and to downplay it entirely. If you watch the video above, it's very similar to the boys where TikTokers are taking an act of violence and murder, then using the audio to make a joke of the entire situation.
