Normalize cutting off even the friends who reach out

I'm an introvert and only have very few friends. Paminsan, it can get lonely. And when that happens, nagguilty ako to not reciprocate the efforts of people who are around kasi sila na ngalang yung andyan for me.

But in the recent years, I've realized na ayaw ko na talagang mag tiis. Kung hindi ko trip ang tao, hindi ko titiisin just because sila lang yung andyan for me. The solution is not in settling for the people who reach out, people who are around, but in finding peace in solitude. That way, hopefully, we can, at least incidentally, find the right people for us.

Share ko lang na ako kasi nagguilty ako sa mga friends na ang hilig mangamusta. Feel na feel kong they care for me. Kaya tinatry ko pantayan with warmth. Only to be disappointed kasi minsan halatang nangangamusta lang kasi gusto mag fish kung anong ganap mo, kung pano ka nila mayayabangan. Parang wala naman talagang sincere concern for you. Curious lang about you and about where they stand in terms of social standing as compared to you.

So yes, tingin ko, ok lang to cancel these people kahit na mukha pang nagmamagandang loob sila para sa'yo.

"We're looking at hours to days"

Our family's losing our 9-month long battle against papa's aggressive sarcoma. Our palliative care doctor informed us this morning that we're looking at hours to days. It's just painful to be so on board on this with him and to finally be in this position.

Please please send your love & light as we spend our final moments with him 😔 I just wanted to say thank you to this community as well. I've been a silent reader and I didn't feel that our family was so alone in this journey 🙏

Do you explain to your patient that they're terminal?

The doctors have spoken to the family and we've been trying our best to understand. Now, we're not so sure if my father, our patient, understands what is going on. What's the moral thing to do? Should we explain this to him? He's really fighting so hard, it hurts 😭

Anong masasabi niyo sa friends na nangangamusta pero when you respond with something completely vulnerable ay di ka naman rereplyan?
