Announcing the Ford Electric Truck Club! (Formerly known as the Lightning Clubs of America)
Announcing the Ford Electric Truck Club! ⚡
Quick clarification up front: This post about our owner club, which many of you have joined over the past few years.
Today, we’re excited to share that Lightning Clubs of America is officially becoming the Ford Electric Truck Club.
Why the change?
When we started the club, our goal was to bring together F-150 Lightning owners for local meetups, road trips, technical discussions, and a great community. That mission hasn’t changed. As Ford’s electric truck lineup continues to evolve, we wanted a name that better reflects the future of the club while remaining rooted in the Lightning community that started it all.
What’s not changing?
✅ Same leadership
✅ Same local chapters
✅ Same events and meetups
✅ Same members
✅ Same mission of supporting Ford electric truck owners and enthusiasts
If you’re already a club member, you don’t need to do anything. You’ll simply start seeing the new name across our website, social media pages, and chapter groups over the coming weeks.
This subreddit has been an incredible place to learn, share experiences, and connect with fellow owners, and many of our members first discovered the club here. Thank you for being so engaged!
If you’ve ever thought about joining us at a local meetup or event, we’d love to have you. Whether you’re a brand-new Lightning owner, have been driving one since 2022, or are simply interested in Ford’s electric trucks, you’re welcome to join us!
Thanks for all the support over the past few years. We’re excited for this next chapter and hope to see many of you at an upcoming event! ⚡🛻
Edit: if you’re interested in more information, joining your local region, and connecting to events, then visit https://fordevclubs.org/ (site is being updated as we continue the transition)
Bruno was wrong about the Big Tobacco lawsuit
He criticizes Josh successfully getting the money to continue to fund the DOJ’s lawsuit against Big Tobacco. He says:
“You don't want the money. You want the issue. You should have waited until the fall when the bell rings and then we hammer them with it. Then Kalmbach, Leder, Ross, Roark, Steve - whoever gets the nomination - has it hanging around their necks, they're nicotine pushers. Plus, you get the money. The sooner you get I know what I'm talking about, and I'm on your side, the sooner your world gets better. Of course, you got the money. I'm amazed they didn't send it to you with candy and a stripper. Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio - three swing states you could have brought over with that. That's an election.”
The implication is that Josh solved the problem, thereby taking it off the table as an issue for the election.
However, in the previous episodes, Leo, Josh, and the DOJ prosecutor say that even the additional $30 million is a drop in the bucket and won’t be enough to culminate the lawsuit… it just continues it, prolonging the status quo. If anything, it actually extends the issue goes into the timeframe of the election.
It also gives them a victory they can laud to voters to show they’re actually taking action.
Josh wasn’t wrong. Bruno’s take was.
What are the best story arcs?
Here is my ranking of the five best story arcs in the entire series:
- Shareef’s assassination, including “The Black Vera Wang” and Agent Donovan storyline.
- Zoey’s kidnapping. Bonus points because Jean-Paul is so punchable.
- “Gaza,” the Camp David peace negotiations, and Leo’s heart attack… might be the best post-Sorkin storyline.
All of the Santos primary/nomination and Santos-Vinnick episodes are basically entire seasons, so much more than discrete story arcs. Honorable mention to the “In the Shadow of Two Gunmen” assassination attempt, but (in my opinion) that storyline is too short to be considered with the other arcs.
That was a lot. I want some pie.
What do you all think? What are your favorites?
