ksdk.comLooking to join the monkey pack. Can I approach the café setup? Close to closing the deal on one, but I need to be convinced…
Why I think it’s a good fit:
- I like classic bikes and have two vintage Honda CBs
- small bore, lightweight is my thing
- vintage / retro is very much my thing
- so is Honda (I’m a level seven susceptible)
- I go short distances but frequently. I also have a lengthy gravel road in and out of my home turf before I hit town’s pavement
- I want ABS and fuel injection (carburetors are tiresome)
However…
- I like cafe racer style along with the unnecessarily uncomfortable seat position
The cfmoto Papio SS looks very much my style, but I feel like the monkey is the way to go.
Rear sets and low bars (mustache or clip ons)… is this foolish to consider?

Suggest me a modern but classic looking small bore bike
Shopping for third motorcycle, and looking for some guidance. I have two vintage Honda CBs, so I’m looking for something modern (new or newish) this time. Not getting on highways. Just for in town on short rides to get ice cream and what not. Mini moto would be acceptable.
My wants:
- classic / vintage / non modern look (emphasis here)
- lightweight and small bore (speed is not an issue)
- durable, respected brand (I need small, but not necessarily cheap
- ABS and Fuel Injection
- prefer air cooled, but not a dealbreaker
- the more café the better (am an old hipster)
Papio SS — sort of perfect and fun looking bike. I love the more aggressive seat / rider position. I’m worried about maintenance and durability.
Monkey — I love Honda quality and the bike is cool looking, but prefer a more sporty cafe racer stance. Have a bit of a gravel road to contend with before I hit pavement and this bike could manage it easily. Especially with knobby tires.
Grom — everything I could possibly want but I find the bike to be unbearably ugly.
What are your thoughts? Am I missing any bikes I should consider?
~Thanks!~

Steve’s Hotdogs Smashed Window Last Night
Rather than type a post addressing the person who did it in a reddit diatribe, I thought I’d instead suggest you good people stop by for lunch or a snack. They are having a bad day and Steve and his crew are a community staple. The video of the window smasher is on their social media.
New Bamboo for Poor People
…poor people with poor impulse control.
I want a new rod rather than searching eBay for something that might be in good shape. I know there are good deals to be had on the used marketplace, but not this time.
I’ve fished with bamboo before and I know the care required. I like slow action and old fashioned. Fancy doesn’t do it for me. Utilitarian all the way. Simple. Quality.
I’m a moderately good angler and capable at casting. The rod will be used and maybe used up. Not looking for the family heirloom.
3 or 4wt (still thinking on this). Not brand conscious and have a history of taking chances on lesser knowns (sometimes it works, other times less so). Hundreds not thousands (is this possible anymore?).
It’ll be another rod in the rack. Plan to fish it where appropriate. No interest in impressing others. Already have the reel to match it.
What say you? Thought I’d ask you’uns.
