The incident took place in Wayne County at the Sam A Baker Camp Ground. Shortly before 5 p.m., the teen was swimming in the river when he began to struggle and panic. He went under the water and did not resurface. He was not wearing a life jacket.
At the shop recently and noticed a SxS I did not recognize. Asked to see it and it was a Teal SxS, which looks very much like a cross between the sharptails (finish) and the bobwhites (double trigger), both of which I have. What I really like is the traditional box lock look rather than the faux side plates. I thought, wow, this gun has everything I want. Very reasonable price, too. However, the action felt nothing like the bobwhite, nor the sharptail. It was a bear to open and close. The person helping me explained that there have been many complaints about the new action. He explained that people find it doesn’t get easier with break - in. It was enough to make me question whether I could manage it in the field comfortably.
Question: what is different about this break action to cause such a difference? I quite like the gun, but am put off by this one, though very important issue.
