How do you think, did Sokovia Accords in Civil War actually reflect the opinion of the majority, or was it strictly politically-driven act, forced by politicians and only favoring politicians? I believe it's the second option.

Let's look at two POVs.

  1. pov of an ordinary person, not an active participant of any MCU event. So, what does this person think of Avengers? Well, from what we know, Avengers never directly and vocally threatened anyone, never exercised their powers for political purposes of any kind, in fact some of them originally operated within the bounds of SHIELD, government organization. The Avengers only ever responded to threats, never caused them, EXCEPT for the Ultron situation and the whole Hulk thing (to be fair, Hulk may be the key factor here). So from this moment on this ordinary person may start to question Avengers, but that's only if they never took time to figure out what really happened. If they did, they'd knew that even though Avengers made a mistake with Ultron, or allowed the Hunk mayhem, their response was immediate, no delay whatsoever. How many politicians that you know own their mistakes and try to fix them immediately? That's what I thought. So, can we suppose that the majority of the population was very vocal about the Avengers signing the accords and against the team as a phenomenon in general? I doubt so.

  2. now, the high-rank politician's pov. The Avengers, not an individual, but a whole group of extra powerful beings uses their power however they want. So far, they've only been responding to some objective threats everyone can agree on. What if one day the Avengers decide to investigate a corrupt state as an extra activity? What if one day Avengers decide your policies are a threat, just as supervillains are? If I'm guilty of any of this, I'd be pretty scared and for a good reason. Someone like Captain America will NOT be quiet if he discovers something like that. But people love Avengers, so you can't do anything. And then an opportunity appears, Avengers make two mistakes in a row. First, civilian victims in Sokovia, then civilian victims in Lagos... So, while you still have the chance you push the narrative that the Avengers are too dangerous and should be regulated somehow. Luckily, there is a good number of politicians who are scared for their positions just as you are, so the process of taking down the Avengers officially begin...

Obviously, I'm team Cap as you could guess. There's no such things as institutions. Institutions ARE people, and if there's a good reason to doubt people's motives, institutions they run can't be trusted as well. I'm not saying the Accords is a wrong idea. But I'm saying it's an idea corrupted from the very beginning, as people who suggested it only ever cared about themselves.

Drummers who use in-ear-monitors on stage, do you use it because it helps you, or because it helps the rest of the band not to lose it? Just curious.

English isn't my native language, and I've just noticed a small thing that slightly reduces social anxiety when I use English...

So, my native language is Russian, but it applies not only to Russian, but any language that has this feature, for example Spanish. We have tú form and usted form of a verb, so when we address someone we use one of these forms, and the difference is whether it's more or less formal, basically whether it's a friendly equal relationship or whether someone is senior in the relationship. For me personally it is a source of anxiety, because, yes, it's clear when the person is older AND takes a senior role in a relationship. But what if we take, for example, tutor - student relationship, where you almost the same age? You can be more formal, but you can also be more friendly, and how do you choose...

In English you don't have this problem AT ALL. There's just "you", and of course you should still be more or less formal, depending on the context, but you don't have this pressure of choosing the right word and guessing whether it's appropriate or not, you just use "you" and that's it.

Wouldn't be a problem really, but you can only omit using the word "you" in a sentence for some time, not all the time...

I'm new to Neural DSP, which plugin do I need if I play classic rock/blues/funk/grunge/stoner rock (Hendrix, Zeppelin, Clapton, Soundgarden, RHCP, Kyuss)? Maybe two plugins, where one covers heavy tones and another one cleaner ones?

Who do you consider the guitarist that came up with the modern rock soloing? The fast, loud and kinda aggressive one, not the steady bluesy one.

I'd say Chuck Berry, although I feel like Chuck leaned more into rhythm guitar playing rather than soloing - but anyways his solo licks are iconic.

Lonnie Mack is my other pick, his soloing on Wham was crazy for 1963.

Also, don't know who's playing the guitar there, but Rock Around The Clock solo is pretty aggressive, despite the clean sound.

Maybe sexual revolution was a mistake

There are definitely some good sides of it, people should be able to talk about sex openly, and shouldn't be judged for that or for their appearance if it's too provocative, BUT apart from that, where we are at, well....

  1. we sexualize everyone, any celebrity that exists has been sexualized by someone; 2) the social media is full of semi-naked people who use our attraction to erotic content to their advantage, the onlyfans, well.... exists... selling nudes for living is, honestly, just pathetic, is that really who you are as a person, is this the only thing you can offer to this world...; 3) finally, watching porn become normalized, and it's a shame, because porn watching turns into porn addiction in no time - and these sites and contentmakers will try everything to keep you hooked, that's just disgusting

And here I'm talking just about some general experience - what if, for example, we talk about kids? Is it ok that kids see erotic content in social media or porn? It's not sex education, it's just straight up perverted unfiltered content that social media and particular sites have to offer

I don't know how do you fix it, but what we have now is... weird....
