Anyone working for a foreign company through an EOR in Japan?

I'm researching how people legally work remotely in Japan for companies without a Japanese entity.

I keep seeing companies use an Employer of Record Japan service to handle international employment, global payroll, tax compliance, and workforce management.

For those actually using an EOR, are you considered a normal employee under the EOR?

Do they take care of your Japan income tax, pension, health insurance, and other social insurance Japan requirements?

Or are you still responsible for everything like a contractor?

Trying to understand the difference between an EOR employee setup vs an independent contractor agreement, especially around visas, taxes, and compliance.

What are your experiences on guided da trips on London?

My friends really want to book a guided day trip from London, so doing it ourselves by train or planning everything independently is probably not happening.

I’ve been looking through the options and there are so many tours that seem to go to the same places. Some look convenient, but others feel a little rushed, and I’m not sure which ones are actually worth the money.

I'm interested to know where you guys went, who you booked, and whether you'd reco it again.

Are the expensive global payroll platforms worth it?

I’m looking into global payroll options for hiring people in different countries, and the pricing differences are kind of confusing.

Some platforms look pretty affordable if you already have entities set up or just need basic contractor payments.

But once you start looking at employer of record services, the cost jumps a lot. A few of them charge hundreds of dollars per employee per month, but they also handle things like local compliance, contracts, taxes, benefits, and payroll rules.

For anyone who has used both cheaper payroll tools and full global employment platforms, was the higher price actually worth it?

Did it save your team from legal or admin problems?

Borrowing against your BTC sounds risky to me

I keep seeing people talk about using their Bitcoin as collateral to borrow cash instead of selling it, and I understand the idea in theory. You keep exposure to BTC, avoid selling, and get fiat liquidity.

But I still don’t understand how this works safely in real life.

If a lender gives you money against your BTC, they need some way to recover the collateral if you default. And the only way they can really do that is if they control the coins, either through custody, a smart contract, or some kind of multisig setup.

But once someone else has control, isn’t that already the risk? If the platform freezes withdrawals, gets hacked, goes bankrupt, changes terms, or acts shady, you could lose your Bitcoin even if you did nothing wrong.

That feels like the opposite of the whole point of Bitcoin. Not your keys, not your coins.

Is there actually a way to borrow against BTC where you still keep control of your coins?

I feel like ranking on Google isn't enough anymore

For the longest time, SEO meant getting your site to rank on Google. If you were on page one, you had a good shot at getting seen.

But now people aren’t only Googling things anymore. They’re asking ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and even Google’s AI Overviews for recommendations. Instead of scrolling through a bunch of links.

A brand also has to be easy for AI to understand, trust, and mention.

I even noticed some companies that rank well on Google don’t always show up in AI answers, while smaller brands sometimes do.

How to make the most of a 4 day London trip?

My partner and I are going to London soon for 4 days, Friday to Monday, and it’ll be our first time visiting. Since we don’t have a lot of time, I’m trying to figure out the best way to group attractions together so we’re not wasting too much time going back and forth across the city.

So far, the only thing we have booked is the Harry Potter Studio Tour on Friday afternoon, but we could probably still do something in the morning before heading there.

We definitely want to see the main sights like Big Ben, Westminster, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, etc., but we’d also love to include a few less touristy or more local experiences if possible.

I’m also interested in museums, but my partner isn't into them, so I’m not sure which ones are worth prioritizing without spending half a day inside.

For those who know London well, how would you plan 4 days for first timers?

How do I find a good Blue badge tourist guide?

I’m planning a trip to the UK and I keep seeing people mention Blue Badge Tourist Guides as the official or more qualified guides. I’m curious if anyone here has booked one before and whether it was worth it compared to a regular walking tour or audio guide.

I’d love to do something more personal than just following a big group around. Ideally, I want someone who can explain the history properly, answer random questions, and maybe show a few lesser known spots too.

Has anyone hired a Blue badge tourist guide before? How was the experience, how much did it cost, and would you recommend booking one?

Any good affordable cat eye falsies?

I’m looking for false lashes that give a nice cat eye effect without being too heavy or dramatic. Something more on the natural/wispy side, not super thick.

I can already apply falsies comfortably, but I just haven’t found a pair that gives that subtle lift on the outer corners without overpowering my eyes. I usually cheat it a bit with eyeliner and eyeshadow, but I want a bit more definition from the lashes themselves.

Ideally something affordable and easy to get online since I’m not in the US.

I started researching rlt. I’m more confused now than when I started.

There’s like wavelengths, irradiance, EMF, panel sizes?? I just want something that works lol.

My main goal is hair and face, but I would also like to use it for my body sometimes (so I don’t wanna regret getting something too small). From what I’ve read, panels seem better than masks since they cover more and are stronger

Price isn’t really an issue, I just want something worth it and not overhyped.

Just wanted to ask what payroll systems you guys are using in South Africa for small businesses. We’re currently using Zoho for our accounting and it’s been solid so far, but the downside is it doesn’t really support payroll here.

We don’t have a huge team, so I’m not looking for anything super complicated.

Just something straightforward that handles PAYE, UIF, etc. properly and doesn’t feel like a nightmare to use every month. Affordable would also be a big plus.

I did my toenails at home for the first time in forever and… I kinda just winged it.

They don’t look terrible, but I also feel like I have no clue what I’m doing. Like, is it basically the same process as fingernails or is there a different way you’re supposed to do toes?

Do you guys actually do a full pedicure every time (soak, cuticles, all that), or do you just trim and paint and call it a day?

Also how do you paint the tiny nails without it getting everywhere?? Mine look so messy up close. Do you clean up with a brush after or just hope for the best lol

And when it comes to cutting them… do you shape them or just cut straight across?
