$1,500 project Element on Facebook Marketplace in New Port Richey, FL
I am only posting this in case anyone who might be interested hadn't seen it. I have no interest in it, don't know anything about it or the owner.. It's an Element cheap. Looks like it runs, but has multiple problems. But... it is green! Use due diligence. Again, I have no interest in the car or owner.
Mac Plus issues. Floppy drive? Logic board? Ignorance on my part?
Got this in a box from someone who remembered I used to donate old Macs to a school. The battery had exploded, but there didn't appear to be a ton of damage to the analog board, and the logic board looks clean. The power switch wasn't working, so I fixed that. There was corrosion on the frame, so I cleaned it up. Then the floppy drive wouldn't eject. It was all gummed up so I replaced that with another floppy from an Apple external. The replacement was clean and the mechanism was "snappy". Put it back together, and for a second it showed the happy face, then back to the X floppy and when I turned it off and ejected the floppy using the paper clip, the floppy drive stuck in the "I think I have a floppy inserted" position.
What's my next move? Besides taking it apart, which is sorta easy now. Thanks.
Old A&P sign revealed during construction work?
This building at the corner of MLK and 10th Ave S. used to house several small businesses and a church. It's being remodeled, and as I was riding past, saw the demolition had revealed an A&P grocery sign painted on the corner.
Schlage exterior knob from 1950, trying to get cylinder out
Key stopped working. Inserts easily, but the lock stays locked. I've tried soaking in PB Blaster but still not working. Anyway, I'm able to get it down to the knob, but can't figure out how to remove the cylinder to check the pins/springs. Thanks in advance.
