Science discovers that the best way to cool your house during a heat spike is to drop some mentos into a large coke bottle
You should try it, the mentos in the coke bottle create a vortex that lets a cool breeze escape the bottle. And it even gives your house a nice minthy smell.

globalnews.caI Think They Are Lying To You [about coding not being a solved problem]
This is a very satisfying rant about Anthropic not being able to vibe code themselves out of some bugs that would be easy to fix in non-vibe coded software after declaring code being a solved problem.
I received AI slop from the NDP
I wrote last week to an NDP MP to praised them for being the lone voice on an issue I care about. Not my MP however, he’s a Liberal and a complete disapointment but I did contact him too about the same issue.
I think it’s important to also send praise messages when MPs are going against the tide because there are some things that I want MPs to stop and others I want them to keep pressing on and they need to know that the population is behind them.
The message wasn’t that long but it was nice. I don’t need to go into details into why what they are fighting against is bad and I’m not trying to change their mind.
Days later, I received a huge wall of slop ChatGPT garbage in response. And I’m very disapointed.
I obviously don’t believe that MPs should craft a customized answer to everyone, it’s very fine if they have templates for similar requests. But a slop response is very dismissive and against the ideas that Avi defended during his leadership campaign.
I’m not going to name and shame since I still believe in the idea I wrote them about and they do a good job on it.
But I’d really like if the NDP could make it an official policy of not producing slop.

journaldemontreal.comThe latest Léger (May 2026)
According to this poll, the NDP really cratered. Yet, I did not see anything significant that would explain this. Léger tends to be better than the other firms, but is it the 1 out of 20 times where the poll is bad?
Did Carney just suddenly became more popular?
I’m inclined to say fluke if this is a one off, but maybe I missed something?
