Last question - alloys

Promise I won't ask anymore after this and just go and order the build I have!

Alloys - I was fine with the standard XLine 18 alloys until someone I spoke over the weekend mentioned there's a cap around the edge of the alloy itself that can come off and he's lost or had 2 stolen!

Does anyone know if I upgrade to the XLine 19inch alloys, do they have a removable part?

Thanks

Sports seats worth it?

Just building up a new ix1 through work ev scheme

For a few hundred extra I can go for the sports seats

Looks like they Have slightly bigger/raised bolsters and sides, and maybe a thigh support that pulls out front

.

Anyone with these seats find them uncomfortable at all?

Trying to figure if it's worth the extra money for them (as I'm going for the XLine model eDrive20)

Keyless entry

Is this worth upgrading to the xdrive30 as heating the edrive20 doesn't offer it.

Does it also mean the edrive20 can't be remotely turned on from say the app I order to pre heat the cabin?

Thanks

New pads old rotors

So I'm an idiot and just went out for a ride after replacing the pads on my SRAM rival axs setup without cleaning the old rotors.

Reading I should have at least cleaned them or even replaced them however there was a lot of life left in them

Is it best to try clean them now or no point? I've just been up and down the road like 10 times trying to bed them in so seems like a waste of time if I now try clean..

Spongy axs lever

Quick question and prob an easy one I suspect.

Changed disc pads after struggling to retract pistons but managed to do so and lined everything up. Now they seem good

I've noticed the rear SRAM axs brake level is more spongy than the front

I've not touched the fluid levels so I'm guessing this is due to piston movement

Will it get better over a few rides (need to bed the pads in later on) or does it need a full bleed?

Thanks

eDrive20 XLine Vs msport

Hi all

I'm looking at getting the IX1 eDrive20 through work every scheme

Would love the xdrive30 just for that extra power but the prices for some reason are a lot more.

Anyway, I'm torn between the XLine and msport trims

I'm reading different wheels, better suspension)is it adjustable or just sportier/harder?), exterior lighting and wireless charging and maybe sports seats

Does that cover most of it or am I missing a lot more?

Thanks

Help fitting new disc pads

Got a replacement set of pads for my giant propel which has SRAM rival axs group

I've retracted the pistons as far back as I can using the tool but even now there's only just enough room for the wheel to fit. It then scrapes against the new lads when rotated, so it seems I need to retract even further somehow

Any suggestions?

Rival axs shifting

Hi all

Have noticed that my rival D1 is shifting and running pretty much perfectly apart from 1 gear (13t on the 10-33 cassette)

It shifts down through all absolutely.fine, but when shifting up it lands great on all but this 1 cog and gets stuck between 12 and 13t

Any ideas on how to fix? This happens when using the small or big ring

Propel advanced 1 weight

Hi all

After some advice on bike weight. I have a 2024 Propel advanced 1. According to online sources, it should be around 8.3kg out the box in size small, SRAM rival axs groupset

Mine seems a little heavier, close to 8.5 unless scales are broken

Anyway, I've since replaced wheels (Hunt 50, saving 200g), Tyres ( saving approx 100g), red cassette and chain (approx 50-60g), saddle (not much difference), left side rival power meter (added extra 50g ish)

Had hoped to see the bike go under 8kg on the scales with no pedals, bag, just the out front mount, but still at roughly 8.2

Anyone else got this model bike and any other easy suggestions? Would rather leave the group alone as prob get rival or force E1 in the future

[Sage Bambino] Help please

Hi all

I've just bought a Sage Bambino second hand and have a few questions/concerns

When making an espresso with around 18g, the double espresso button runs for about 5 seconds (does nothing) then drops a tiny amount after that for 2-3 seconds. If I press again I can get more, so pressing twice seems to provide enough

Googling suggests it might need a descale and clean which I will be trying this weekend but I'm also wondering if its down to the grinder I use

It's a krups gvx231 and on the finest setting it's seems good enough and has worked with a different espresso machine in the past, but Im still learning so maybe not the best

Is it likely a grinder issue, cleaning issue or perhaps I tampered it down a bit hard?

Any advice would be very welcome

Propel advanced 1 weight

Have a 2024 propel advanced 1 with SRAM rival axs and going by the videos online it should weigh around 8.3kg without pedals

I've just replaced the wheels for hunts (200g lighter) and tyres for str25 (another 100g), then red cassette and chain

Would expect to see sub 8 (just) but my scales are showing 8.3. either they are bust or the starting weight is more

Anyone know?

Curious what settings during the hot days

We've got a Midea split unit setup and love it

Currently only have 1 timing in place which is sleep mode to come on at 10pm which starts at 22 degrees then drops to 21. We then run everything manually via the app and only use the controller as a thermostat

For the hotter days, I've been looking at the automation rules you can create

So indoor temp goes above 25 then it switches on and runs in eco

Rather than switch off again at say 23 then on again at 25, what are folks doing with their setups during the hot days?

I could just leave it on eco all day but don't know if that will use more energy than just kicking in and out with the rules when the temp changes

Follow me battery life

Hi all

We have a Midea Extreme eco split unit and have been using the follow me setting as the remote is around 2 degrees lower and next to our bed

Currently just have the remote on just for this setting then use the app for everything else

Curious if this will drain the remote battery A LOT faster as it's talking to the units every 3 mins or not something to be concerned about?

Thanks

Disc rotor upgrade

Currently have the standard disc setup on my 2024 Propel advanced 1.

Just bought some new wheels and before fitting, would like to also upgrade the disc rotors and pads

Any recommendations? First time disc brake user, so I'm not too familiar

Thanks

SLR wheelset lateral movement

All, I recently noticed some side to side play when holding the cups/bearings. Ive noticed it when riding too, some loose feel to it all

The stem and headset are all good

I've taken both end caps off and everything seems good, so I'm stumped as to why there's some movement when secured to the bike

Custom bike workouts

Hi I've recently setup some very very basic indoor cycling workouts and they work well

Would like to know if there are any pre-made workouts that I can import in or use from somewhere? I've got Garmin+ but the only option seems to be using the coach option which is a bit overkill for my needs and also requires at least 4 hours a week commitment which I can't do as also doing a gym work

2027 Propel

Comparing the 2026 v 2027 advanced pro 1 and videos online showing it as almost 400g lighter. Doesn't seem right and just wondering if anyone knows if the 2027 models are a good bit lighter than previous models? Looking to upgrade mine soon
