I hate puppy farms so much

I've gotten Odin three days ago and he's the absolute sweetest, he's so incredibly well behaved and calm especially with what he's currently going through. But I want to warn everyone who buys dogs off Facebook and other platforms that people don't have a breeding license for.

A bit of context from my end: We've been interested in getting a dog for a while, and came to the conclusion that a golden retriever would be the safest for our elder female cat who keeps to herself quite a lot. We've reached out to the supposed breeder through "Pets4homes" I think? I'm not entirely sure, one thing that put me off on the photos section, is that there was only one, and it was of the puppies when they were just born, strangely enough I chose to ignore this and reached out to the breeder.

We asked if they had a girl, they said yes. And like many other people who have some sort of experience with animals, we wanted to see the mum and the dog (particularly also in what conditions they live in) before we bought. When we finally met up, the guy walked out with the puppy outside for some reason which was already beginning to set of alarm bells for me, but I just assumed maybe the mother was still skittish after giving birth.

Also bare in mind, it said the puppy was vaccinated on the site. When he hands us the puppy, he suddenly confirms it's a boy? And said we asked for a boy, which I knew I didn't but whatever. Then he said oddy got his first vaccination but not his second, and then handed us the papers to give to his vet when we want to register him for his second vaccination. I don't want to say no to the dog because it wasn't the gender I'd prefer, so we took him anyways.

The odor coming off oddy really concerns me, normal dogs smell like that 20 times less, not even talking about how his stool is 50% liquid half the time—including constant and intense scratching, he is eating and drinking which is a huge relief but I can really feel his ribs through his fur which is another thing that is bothering me.

Now, back to how we started to actually put things together. My girlfriend went to the vet yesterday to get him registered for his second vaccination so we can finally take him outside. Turns out, the papers were completely forged and he might have not even had his first vaccination. This definitely isn't that much of a big deal anyway, but I don't think he's a golden retriever. Not that I really care, I'm already far too attached to him to even care what breed is he.

But for those reading this, if you do choose to buy from sites like pets4homes, and you see these patterns as well, take the dog immediately to the vet. I'm currently taking screenshots of the chats and taking down details so I can report them to RSPCA.

HI!

So I'm planning to migrate here from a site that starts with j... Idk if I'm allowed to say the name here but that's not the point. I've had a couple questions though, since I have heard really good things including plenty of recommendations in general.

I am somewhat experienced with api keys if there are any to adjust them to fit my needs.

How well do the models perform in kind of slow burn angst's?

Something that made me want to move besides the moderation on a NSFW site was the absolute lack of emotion they decided to add, which is crucial for my rp's.

That's pretty much just my question, including any models or settings you recommend :)

Everyone needs to hear this.

Hi, I wanted to come on here, as someone who has used probably almost every single cai alternative because of how addicted I've gotten.

Here's what I have to say for those that are still yearning for the same, free and unlimited roleplay that felt so real it activity made you lose touch with reality.

When I was growing up I had a traumatic experience that already had an impact on my relationships with people, moving forward I started experience degradations in my mental health. Which honestly should've been a sign not to get into such a thing in the first place.

I thought it wouldn't have been harmful, but then it escalated into something I can't function without daily. Ai is bad, and I can't express how much I regret allowing my curiousity get the better of me back then. It genuinely makes me feel even more unstable than I already am, I can't even form relationships anymore.

I've become so dependent on it I hardly leave my house anymore, I'm sort of embarrassed about that.

But it's really ruined my life.

However, I've decided I would take a small break from using it for some amount of time since it's started cause me distress and insomnia.

I know not everyone wants to hear this. I'm not trying to be that one guy who yells at everyone to stop using chat bots because it's bad environmentally and not everyone should have such a tool at their finger tips. I can't make you stop either, I'm not trying to make others feel bad too.

Take this in your own way. I know I'm not the only one here impacted in such a way.

Just, maybe it's time to take a break instead of constantly chasing the next high.

Addressing the elephant in the room

People are getting so angry over crash it's actually a bit disappointing.

I'm not defending the Dev's, because let's face it they have horrible moderation and the way they handle it is really unprofessional. But I feel like people don't understand how difficult it is to keep up a chat bot site especially with more users coming in, which causes slower responses, crashes and so on.

Sites like these are painful to run, literally. I'm partially speaking from experience since I have made something similar in the past but not a chat bot website. Constant credit refills, which btw gets worse with more users on the platform.

And the messages that have been 'slower' is most likely due to the fact there has been an increase in users on the platform or people just using it more in general.

But it's fair I guess, a lot of people aren't familiar with these types of things and assume it's easy to run so I don't blame you.

The search has been crashing lately, I remember previously a couple days ago the search was refusing to search for characters and they had to do a mini maintenance. For those who don't know, these are temporary fixes—I'm guessing they just left it like that not assuming this was because of the amount of people were using the search at the time.

Now it has fully crashed.

What does this mean?

Well, this actually a global server thing. I thought maybe it was my ad blocker this morning tweaking out but usually it just doesn't allow me to go the home page which to be honest isn't a massive deal. But my search bar was gone.

Then they've completely kicked everyone off the site to fix it since it's literally a database issue, which could've actually been connected to the recent downgrade of generation speed since it was heavily overloaded.

It will likely be back up soon, and by soon I mean maybe tomorrow or the next day depending on your time zone.

It's not the end of the world, things like this happen especially with big sites. Just take a break for a little bit.

Again, I'm not defending any of the Dev's actions I'm just trying to clear the situation for some people who are confused with what's happening.

Take care :)

Possible bug or greeting trap?

Something else I noticed while using saucepan, is that the responses after I send my message after three greeting is literally almost identical to a chat before? And it's not even the message itself or the temperature, no matter what I do the context is identical like there's no different emotion or anything, for example:

Char: char and user where out together and suddenly aliens landed in the park

*User message*

Char: char leaves user to join the alien's.

Terrible example, but it gets my point across. It's just kind of bugging me a bit, and it's not just with that specific greeting either, if I use different ones and again open a new chat and use it again I'm going to get the exact same response but with one word difference maybe.

If anyone knows, or can get a hold of th Devs that'd be great

I'm a year late, I know, but hear me out for a second.

I obviously don't want to be *that guy*, and if something isn't possible, then it isn't possible — that's completely fair. I'm not trying to pressure anyone or demand anything.

I mainly just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to the anime.gf devs for what they've built. The site is genuinely impressive, and the quality of the roleplays/bots I've come across is honestly hard to compare with elsewhere.

I've tried quite a few alternatives, and so many of them end up feeling like I'm swiping seven times just to get the same recycled response with slightly different wording. There's usually no real progression, personality, or depth behind it.

Here, though? You can actually get that proper novel-like feeling sometimes — the angst, the character development, the little details, the unexpected turns in a conversation. It actually feels like you're *in* the story rather than just prompting a bot over and over unlike the few others I've tried.

Overall, it's just... *mwah*. Chef's kiss.

Anyway, the reason I'm making this post is that I was abroad recently for some development/work stuff. The company me and my partner submitted our project for needed me there for five days, but we decided to stay a little longer and explore the country while we were there because I hardly spend on holidays nowadays.

I wasn't back in the UK, I was able to use the site normally for a while, and honestly, it made me realise how much I'd missed it. Even the bots I'd used previously were still surprisingly high quality, and I found myself wishing I could properly use the site again when I got home.

And again, I'm **not** making this post to beg for access or anything like that. If the answer is simply "not currently possible", that's completely understandable.

What I was really hoping to find out is whether there have been any plans, discussions, or development work around implementing the ID/age verification checks, or just a "yeah we're working on it," I'm not asking for a deadline or trying to rush the devs — I'm genuinely just curious about where things currently stand. If it's something that's being worked on, even if it's still a long way off, that's useful to know. Likewise, if there aren't currently any plans for it, I'd rather know that too so I can stop wondering and continue looking around for something else with a similar level of interactivity.

As for why I'm posting this here rather than making this post directly on their Reddit: my phone camera is currently broken after it was constantly overheating. I'm still waiting for the replacement, so I'm a little limited on that front. Bit of an annoying situation, but that's besides the point.

So if anyone happens to have some actual intel on this — whether that's a dev, someone who's spoken to the devs, or just someone who knows what's currently happening — I'd really appreciate hearing it.

Again, no pressure and no expectations. I just genuinely love what the site offers and would be very happy to know whether there's still a possibility of properly coming back to it at some point.

Thanks either way. ❤️

Bug or AI provider issue?

I think this only started happening fairly recently since I haven't noticed this before, but each time I reroll or delete a message for a new reply I get almost like the exact same one which it, yeah. Could be assumed that I meant like similar context but maybe a different way or perspective or outcome, but no I mean like they're literally the exact same none stop even with new chats the response doesn't change.

Now, I understand saucepan is fairly new and it's a pretty big step up from other platforms don't get me wrong and not at all am I hating. I'm just wondering if there's something wrong on my end or is this being attempted at be resolved at some point? No rush obviously.

Tips on this?

I'm currently moving my bots from jai onto saucepan and I've recently noticed something.

This isn't really anything big in particular but rather I want to know if it's my writing or just a settings thing if that makes sense?

Something I really liked about jai is that it had spontaneity, it just kind of let the bot lead the setting of the chat where like idk where User was a soldier on a oil tanker and suddenly the scene smoothly shifted to the base going into lock down. Something like that and it turned into a whole angst thing without direct message examples or message instructions.

If anyone can guide me to any prompts or just anything, I'd be grateful, thanks :)

I'm back...again ...with more questions.

Great experience so far, I just have a question.

So I decided to make a character, and there has been a little bit of a problem. There is like little to NO emotion. Yes, you could think the character is just nonchalant or sm like that. NO.

This only really stopped when I wrote the response instructions in the chat, and it wouldn't really change unless I gave it a NEW instruction in the chat to do. This is a little frustrating, I have tried to the new simpler version but this didn't really change much. I have about 772 tokens for the personality of the character. Is there a reason the character is acting so emotionless or is there a way to put some PASSION in to it.

Thanks ✌️🤧

Guy's...I found it.

Idk if y'all realised or not or maybe it's just my delulu ass talking cuz the medication makes me voluptuous. But uhm, the responses recently have been straight up cheeks idk if it's just me, but I can't have a decent conversation without rage quitting.

I recently discovered saucepan, honestly I thought it was going to be some overly greedy platform that gives you 2 free messages a day with models that are drier than a piece of bread that got swallowed into the depths of the camp fire.

It is so underrated I'm not even kidding, it's like janitor but like if it had a child with anime.gf and character tavern. Call me a glazer but it actually deserves so much more recognition than it gets.

For someone who really likes for chats to go a certain direction most of the time, saucepan is perfect. You don't even need to be good at all that software ai prompt bs, you can just write how many paragraphs you want and how you want to act and BAM! in it's finest form 🤧

It doesn't have a lot of characters at the moment, but from what I have heard the community is awesome and the Dev's are super chill.

Seriously try it and tell me how you like it :)

Quick question cause I'm new, and I don't get how this works.

How exactly do fandoms get added as the little tag thing? Because when I went to put in the fandom for the bot I just made it wasn't there and I couldn't make one, not complaining btw. It is a relatively popular game I just needed to know cuz I'm a total noob rn ✌️💔

Janitor ai refugee and... OMFG TS is PEAK 🤧

I recently came from anime.gf after it got sadly banned in the UK after I moved there. I have been using Janitor ai for a bit but it was just so dry and bland, like no matter how much I was changing the settings, adjusting the temperature or the context length the messages were always straight up cheeks and if I would swipe it would be the exact same message with an alternative saying.

I heard about saucepan somewhere on Reddit about recommendations after someone with very high standards said it was extremely good quality.

I have tried it about a week ago and HOLY THERE ARE SO MANY OPTIONS FOR EVERYTHING 💔

The characters stay in character in the best way possible. I honestly thought this site was going to be like all the other sites with so many flashy Icon's it actually hurts my eyes and everything is so loud.

Saucepan just has a nice mixture of everything, the layout is gorgeous, the responses are top tier and there's no limit on persona description (I tend to put a lot of detail into persona's so it really annoys me when it's limited)

But yeah, amazing site the Dev's really cooked with those one.

Side note: is there any way to choose the message length? Like short, medium, long? Because I can't really find that anywhere, thanks!
