Thoughts on Pauscollege?

How has your experience been at the Pauscollege Residence? The virtual tour shows that the room is really good, the type four room has two parts: the first one has the bed & the washbasin and the second one has the study table.

I also found some pictures and they seem nice but I wanna hear from the current residents on how their experience was at Pauscollege? How is the environment, ambience and the culture there?

KU Leuven Residence Halls

I'm filling forms for residences aggresively rn because I got in pretty late. Mostly all rooms in KUL residence halls are full, I'll mostly be placed on a waiting list for them. I have another option of opting for a room at Holleberg, which is managed by KUL and Stuvo both. Can someone share how their experience with Stuvo was, more specifically Holleberg? Even though it is managed by KUL, I need to know if the rooms are comfortable, and how the ambience is.

I will be filling the form for the residence halls because I heard back from a few of them telling me that I should, because there might be chances of people cancelling the rooms, after which I might get one. Should I wait for them or just go with Holleberg or look for more privately-owned residences?

Mijn-Kot website's legibility

Has anyone applied for accommodation through the Mijn-Kot website? I had mailed them and they said that their buildings are Kotlabel verified but also wrote, "We don't do videocalls in the rooms because of privacy reasons. Videocall in person is possible." This seems sketchy to me, has anyone stayed at this building or has experience for booking with them? The address is Naamsesteenweg 104, Heverlee.

Master of Materials Engineering

I got accepted for the master of material eng sometime ago, did my bachelor's degree in mechanical engg, wish to connect with existing students from materials engg.

I plan on doing a PhD in the future, and have heard that KUL has amazing research facilities, and would be great for masters in case I wanna pursue a PhD. Moreover, how is the course structure for this program and what should I do academics wise before coming to KUL so that I'm prepared well for the course? I've heard it's very challenging (can someone confirm this too), so wanna do everything I can to get good grades and be well prepared. Is it really as difficult as people say?

UCL London vs KU Leuven

I got admitted to UCL London and KU Leuven, both for materials sciences. Now I know the ranking for UCL is much higher but there's a lot of hearsay around UK's job market & the uncertainty there. Moreover, add the cost to it and a year in UCL will cost me over four times what KU Leuven will, as an international student. Also, KU Leuven is ranked higher when you look at the rankings for materials sciences. Everyone I have spoken to has shown their apprehension for UK for international students at this point.

In the future, I plan on doing a PhD. What would be the best option for this? Would love to hear opinions from both sides before making a final decision.

Summer Semester

Hey I have  a question for the summer semester admission as an International Student: Do we need to be enrolled at another institution for Masters and then transfer to TUM in the summer semester or we can apply without it too? Moreover, do we study the same courses the Masters students who entered in the winter semester will study or is it different?

One year masters apprehensions

Prospective masters student here, I Recently got accepted to the MSc in Advanced Materials Sciences. I love this field and want to pursue it further by a PhD, but one of my seniors told me that one year passes by really quickly and its very difficult to manage PhD applications, coursework and life in London in general.

Can someone please tell me their experience as a Masters student and how they managed everything together? This will be my first time living outside my home country, so will basically have to manage everything on my own along with coursework, Masters thesis and PhD application. Is one year too short for it?

UCL MatSci

I just got accepted to UCL for MSc in Advanced Materials Sciences, and honestly all I hear from people around me is that it should be my last option in case I do not get anything else, because the job market is really really bad in UK.

As I move forward, I want to get into research or maybe do a PhD but as an international student, I'm not sure if I should spend so much money on a degree that might not be worth it after year because of the market.

I wanna know if it is a good idea to go to UCL in case I'm planning to do a PhD later or get into research. Does UCL actually have a good reputation if I wish to apply to Asian Universities or other European countries for a PhD later? And in case, my motivation to do research is gone after Master's, will UCL be worth it? I'm really confused, would really really appreciate your inputs.

Admission to Master's Programs

Hi, I'm a graduate from an Indian University and am planning to apply to the University of Tokyo for Masters in mechanical engineering. I have been through the website many times, but I'm not able to find the application portal. Do I have to speak to a professor first for research and then apply? Also, Can someone please walk me through the steps to apply or share the link to the application portal for International students?
