Just got back from Goodwill. We are in the process of ripping up our carpets and needing to find something to cover the floors with the black one I got for $15. The other one I got for 10. They are no identifying features on the back of either. Not expecting anything worth a ton.. but for $25 for the pair... They were worth it!

Cart before the horse situation

So I decided to jump back in and get some cheese working since our farmer has been hurting with the drought here in MD and figured I'd support him with his dairy operation. BTW.. total plug for Nice Farms down the road with their A2 herd. Anyway I got 6 gallons with a plan to bang out three cheeses this weekend (open to suggestions!). I failed... I failed to make sure I had rennet. I have some on the way but it's not getting here until Sunday. I do have this from a kit I got this past year as well as some rennet that is about 6 months old but it sucks (North mountain)

Question.. can I use this and what are the recommendations for dosing?

Now that the painting is done... Carpets come up. Now I'm scared of what I will find...

Walker Hall platter question. Found in local USA thrift store.

Found this at a thrift store in US. I can see it's Walker Hall, but wanted to confirm if plated and the date. Wondering if it has any real value since I believe it's older.

Assuming it's plate, but any idea on the age? Does this have any real value bring it's plated?

Posted on another sub, thought I'd ask here. Found these three cups at Greedwill and wondering could this be silver?

Thrift store find is this silver?

Long time lurker first time poster I collect lots of things I do Fiesta wear. I've started to get into glass as well but I've always been interested in silver and especially since the market has gone absolutely bonkers in last year. It has renewed my interest. I found three cups. All three have a mark that says T100 and one has a interesting marking on it. Wondering if this is silver?

Originally a Fiestaware collector, now I'm finding a way to fill the dry patch in on the finds.

I went back!

I went back to the store my friend saw the load of vintage Fiestaware and snagged a few pieces. Unfortunately the footed bowl and casserole dishes were scooped up. I'll swing back this week and see what else they have because... Apparently the lady that donated them has MORE. A LOT MORE.

Sadly the vase wasn't Fiestaware but I got it anyway since I do collect other non HLC items like Hall and McCoy as long as they aren't gaudy

Why can't it be pay day....

A friend messaged me saying that a consignment/ thrift show down the road had some Fiestaware... Sadly I could only afford $50 so I made it work.

I'm normally a Fiestaware hunter, but now I'm getting hooked..

I popped up green with a 365 and 395 nm light, just couldn't get a decent picture for some reason. But for $6, I'll take it.

Question on roasted garlic/ garlic comfit

So I have a bunch of garlic cloves that needed to be used up. They are currently in a Dutch oven at 250 with olive oil and will just tuck away the majority of the day. The question is is there a way to can these without pressure canning? I understand they are a low acid food, but wondering about the fact they will be basically flying at 250 for several hours does that negate the need to pressure can, or not. If not I plan to vac pack and freeze or store in fridge.

Going through a bunch of old notes. Wondering is this worth anything over it just being a silver note.

Long story short, we found two safes aty parents house that my dad had crammed full of coins. Talked with Mom and ultimately she wanted to sell so we sold a bunch of Eagles and platinum as well as tons of silver. But I found some Morgans and a good bunch looked good. A coin show was in town and ANACS was there offering $20 a coin. I figured why not. Here's half of what we had. We have some more and wondering is it worth it just to preserve for future (passing them down).
