How selective are secondaries?
My application just got verified and I received a bunch of secondaries. Idk if they just want everyone's money, or if they're really considering your application... just don't want to get my hopes up too high...

Got waitlisted for interviews at both locations :(
Was over here thinking that linking my AAMC ID would be enough... 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Just realized that they changed the professor for BIOL 4475 and the new prof. has a 1.7 rating. Now, all the other bio classes are full for the Fall 😔😔
MCAT: 502
GPA: 3.97
2 years of psychosocial research
3 months of wet lab research (+ 1 year predicted)
700 hrs clinical volunteering
700+ hrs of combined non-clinical volunteering
many leadership positions (RA, TA, Freshman mentor, club leadership & founding, SGA, Honor excellence society )
Academic and service awards in college + merit scholarships
I'm not sure if I should include these achievements from high school (Bronze in 2 national academic Olympics & valedictorian)
My biggest drawbacks are my F1 status and my low MCAT

I was re-watching Breaking Bad and just realized Walter really is responsible for Jane's death. When I first watched it, I blamed him for being a bystander and actively choosing not to help her. However, when I re-watched it I noticed that she was laying on her side, Walter MOVED HER to her back, then she choked and died. Now I dislike him even more, to think that he came in trying to do "right" by Jesse and ended up destroying him even more...
My little cousin (11,F) has been acting strange lately. She doesn't like to wear dresses or pink stuff anymore, but I thought it was normal for her age. But then, she started saying things about how fat she looks in every picture (she's skinny/normal weight) and that if she doesn't eat, she'll loose weight. Everytime I hear her saying that kind of stuff, I try to give her a positive talk. Lately she has been eating very small portions of food, but I didn't really say anything because she's growing, and there's nothing wrong with having a smaller appetite. But what got me worried was what happened today. I made one of her favorite dishes, and she was so happy about it, then while she was about to have the first bite, she made a face like she just remembered something important, then started to stall. I found it super weird, and I asked her what had happened. She said that she needed some water, and drank 2 full cups without touching her food. When I tried to talk to her, she was just dismissive saying that she wanted to save it for "tomorrow". Mind you, she only had a slice of pizza the whole day. I tried to tell her dad, that she's been acting strange and skipping other meals too. And he was super dismissive too, saying that "well, girls eat like birds" kind of thing. Idk...
I might be dumb, but for my professors I used the "work phone" info under their contact cards, but I just realized that literally all of them have the same work phone number. I'm guessing that calling that number will redirect to the professors' office phones, but idk? Anyways, are they likely to check using the email in case the phone fails?
Genuine question. I understand people whose end goal is to do derm or other super competitive specialties, but I personally know some people who would like to do IM but decided to reapply (excluding D.O. again). Thoughts? I'm applying for both, and ideally would choose MD, but would be more than happy with a DO acceptance too.
Tried it for the first time today, it didn't hurt as much putting it in but it hurt so much once it was already there. I had to remove it 10 min later, the pain was making it so hard to walk or sit down. It also made my cramps so bad. I'm at a friends house and she only uses tampons... I might have to instacart some pads... Any tips on how to not make it hurt?
I think it's a bit unfair that the professors have access to the Turnitin AI reports but students don't. I heard from a friend that they were accused of using AI because of a Turnitin report, but they didn't even know that they were flagged. Also, it's horrible for group assignments too, what if someone did use AI for their part, and Turnitin flags it, but we as the group members are not able to see it? Idk, I just think it's a bit messed up...
