I cope with food but being fat makes me hate myself even more, what other coping mechanisms could I try?

Just need advice/recs on coping mechanisms other than food, I have been binge eating too much to the point that I gained around 15lbs in like 2-3 weeks, and that has only made me feel more miserable. I even thought of starting cigs because it kills two birds with one stone: I can cope with the negative feelings and hopefully it will kill my hunger signals so I can lose the weight, but I want an outsiders opinion on this, I want to cope, not to further ruin myself

Crush on someone smaller than me

Hi!
I am a chubby woman (5’5 and 175 lbs) and I have the biggest crush on a guy that is easily half my weight and about a head shorter than me. Still, I think he is super cute and I would love to at least talk to him, but I feel like a monster next to him. I see him around campus often enough, and every time, I try to hype myself up to walk up to him and strike a conversation, but my insecurities stop me
What would you guys do?
Thanks

Volunteer opportunities

Hello!!

Lately I have felt extremely hopeless and pessimistic at the current state of the world… so figured the best way to pick myself up is via action. I am looking into any volunteering opportunities where I can make a difference/ help the elderly, children, women, and/or immigrants. If you belong or know of any group or organization that fit my interests, please let me know.

Thanks!

Walking from Streetcar stop to bars at Westport

Hellooo!!

Me and my friend will be visiting KC this weekend; we were told that Westport has many bars for our demographic (women, mid 20s) how safe is it to walk from and to the street car stop to the bar scene (say around bars like Tin Roof and Kelly’s)

Thank you!

New fridge installation question

This is my first fridge (Frigidaire Top Freezer Refrigerator 7.5 CU PT), I bought a small one assuming I could just plug it in and it would start working, but, what am I supposed to remove from the “exterior packaging” or am I supposed to leave them as they are and just plug it??? (Picture attached) The user manual does not mention external parts at all. Thanks for any help!

Which one should I read???

Hello friends!!

Lately I have grown tired of modern times BL manhwas, so I wanted to try a historical one. I have seen two popular ones that caught my eye: Steel under silk AND Painter of the night.
I wanted to ask for recommendations/opinions on which one to read first, or just which one was your favorite.

Also, if you a different rec, please do let me know

Help Planning Trip to Lake of Ozarks

Hello!! Me and my family have never visited Lake of Ozarks before, but have heard it is a great place for a vacation. If anyone has visited the place before and have any recommendations for places to stay and things to do, or any type of advice for the trip, I will greatly appreciate the input!!
We are a big family, and we are POC (just mentioning this last fact because I wouldn’t want to take my family to a place where they don’t feel welcome to)

Thanks for the help!!

Love in Hell Ch 3

WTF WTF WTFFFFFFF!!!! I literally felt like puking when THAT scene (pic for reference) came up… I have read plenty of questionable and kinda degenerate BLs in the past (eg Snake Hole, Mr As Farm) but somehow that scene in chapter 3 of Love in Hell was the first time I was actually, literally disgusted rather than uncomfortably aroused. I legit had to stop reading mid chapter and vent here because I just couldn’t stomach it alone

That’s all. Thanks for reading lol

Hello!

I am 26 years woman and I have never try dating before.

When I was a teenager, I simply wasn’t interested in boys because we had nothing in common; during college, I was very much dedicated to my studies and never really made the effort to meet people; and now I am in the workforce and only interact with the same people everyday, and all are older than me and married.

I want to try dating now because I feel if I don’t do it now, then it will truly be too late and I will end up alone, but I just don’t know how to even start. I don’t know how to flirt, I am very cautious about strangers so I find it hard to know how much is safe to share when meeting new people, I also feel my interest are very “girly” so I worry I will not find common ground with potential partners.

I also worry about my own self, what if I am not physically attractive enough to date, what if my personality is too boring, what if I don’t know the basic common knowledge required to date.

I am just open to any kind of advice and/or words of encouragement; also, if you were in my shoes previously and now find yourself in a happy and healthy relationship, I would love to read your story and advice!

Thanks!

Hello!! I needed to ramble about this manhwa so I figured this was the best place to do so. For context, I am relatively new to the BL genre, and most of the popular works I have read are just okay, they have little to no plot, characters are poorly made, and the smut is rather obscene -which is fine, I accept and enjoy it for what is is-, HOWEVER, the last manhwa I read was so refreshing in the sense that it was soooo well made, I felt I had to share it!!

The name is Walk On Water, and I truly think is the best BL I have read so far: the manhwa actually follows a plot, and said plot is strongly driven by the characters background, current situation, and personal conflicts and struggles. The plot is good, the characters are so well made (they are consistent in their personalities, and we can see their depth and growth as the story develops), the pacing is just perfect -not too fast, not too slow, each chapter moves the story and you don’t feel as if the author is forcibly stretching the story-, and the smut is very tasteful.

Not only was the romance story cute -although not without its fair share of drama- but the characters were truly my favorite part, I found myself empathizing with each one of them, and trying to understand their own reasoning behind each action. Plus, the story touched on some provocative social topics as well, and I found myself thinking on my own stance regarding said topics (ie. how porn actors are at the bottom of the industry -being the most exposed, socially judged, and yet less paid-, also, is it really a fair trade if the person at one end is making the choice out of desperation and lack of options).

Overall, it was such an enjoyable read, if anyone else have similar recommendations (good plot, fleshed out characters, and tasteful smut) please let me know!!

I have attached some screenshots I took of the story simple because they left an impression on me -and maybe they will give you a sense of the story/characters-

Bye!!
