what do i do about my neighbour?

my neighbour is an old lady, lives alone most of the time, everytime we see her outside, she's got a earbud in her ear. probably listening to songs or something.

the problem is, it has been more than 4 times, when we could smell gas leaking.

we went around asking our neighbours if their gas was off, and turns out her locked house was where the gas was coming from. we had to break into her apartment and turn the gas off.

the last time we were talking to her outside after throwing the trash, i asked her if her gas was left on and she rushed inside and came back again, LAUGHING? that she accidentally left it on. 😭 it's not even funny atp.

how do i deal with her? none of the other neighbours seem to care, but im sure its dangerous and will end up killing others too if she continues doing the same.

how do i find a way out of this?

i don't even kno where to start but ill just get this out as it comes to my mind. so i was basically pushed into doing my bachelor's in IT. wasn't allowed to take major decisions myself being financially dependent on my father, i did not really have a choice, so i had to go along with it.

recently graduated with a BSC IT, and now i don't even feel like i learned anything properly. i can barely write basic python code without using AI. it's not that i didn't try, it just isn't making sense to me, never liked it either

last 3 years were depressing, was surrounded by toxic friends but not gonna go deeper into that part. i finally managed to distance myself from them but now that ive graduated i feel completely directionless.

what scares me more is thet now my dad is pushing me to do a masters in AI and i don't kno if i should go through with it. i already feel disconnected from what i studied. barely passed with an 8.5 CGPA. not to mention i had to work 2 times harder than my classmates only to score average while they topped classes.

at the same time I don't even know what i DO want anymore? i used to feel like i had interests snd some sense of identity now I don't seem to be able to do any of that. i know the solution sounds like "why don't you just say no?" it's not that simple when you're dependent and used to not having a say in any decision

just want to know if anyone else had been through something similar? how did you figure your way out of it? don't even know if i need advice or just need to feel less alone in this mess. would love some suggestions and advices.

no moving out isn't an option yet.

what next?

Did not get into Phase-1 first merit list for M.sc Data sci & AI. don't know how many seats they had, but now that the phase-2 notice is out, my programme isn't mentioned in the list for phase 2 applications.

my doubt is, will there be a second merit list in Phase 1? and will my application be automatically considered? or was i supposed to apply again to be considered but can't bc the list doesn't have my programme anymore?

(does a single phase have multiple merit lists? since that's what i saw with UG programmes @ mithibai)

UGHHH

ive been using sanitary pads ever since I first started my periods (9 years so far). i have also tried reusable period panties and they are absolutely not my thing.

this time im extra done with pads. i just can't stand the feeling of a pad against my skin. i usually go commando on normal days. and now that i have to put on a pad it just feels like my worst nightmare come true.

i sound calm but i just really wanna crawl out of my skin right now and everything feels so overwhelming. i don't know what else i can do. cups/discs are not an option. extremely sensitive and not comfortable with putting anything in there.

also my country being the hottest region currently isn't helping:/

(anyone else having the same experience??)

just a rant but would REALLY appreciate any advice or help if possible T_T ty for reading.

confused between data science vs geoinformatics. need practical advice

had to do a BSC in DS due to family pressure. i tolerated it for 3 years just fine. but im not sure i can do any more of that in the future. ive been looking through geology, atmospheric sciences, geoinformatics and stuff.

coming from a middle class family also doesn't help. the amount of brain washing that has happened makes me think, doing anything of my interest (that is not mainstream) = failure. with so much pressure from my father. i just feel so lost to be taking my own decisions at this point in life.

ive heard that tech/DS is getting saturated and unstable but also that niche fields (earth/geo/space) have fewer jobs and need higher studies.

so i feel stuck between

  1. choosing DS for stability but risking loss of interest midway/burnout

  2. choosing my interest but risking financial struggle/instability

those experienced or have witnessed such cases, id really appreciate realistic advice on this

- job prospects in India

- stability in the next 5–10 years

- whether combining fields (like geo+data) is actually possible/ a good decision?
