Flinders University zinc-iodine battery with over 60,000 cycles
>“Rechargeable aqueous zinc-iodine batteries are shaping up as a viable alternative to popular lithium-ion batteries for large-scale energy storage and our group is now working with industry to establish a prototyping platform for this alternative battery system,” says Associate Professor in Chemistry Zhongfan Jia, Matthew Flinders Fellow at Flinders University’s College of Science and Engineering.
>Iodine is one of the most effective materials for rechargeable batteries, with the potential to store a high amount of energy relative to its weight – around 211 mAh/g (milliampere-hours per gram).
211 mAh/g works out to 274 Wh/kg @ 1.3v. Energy density comparable to lithium ion, but lower voltage has its shortcomings. Perhaps that's why they're targeting stationary storage.

Gulf fritillary caterpillars all over passion fruit vines
I have well-established passion fruit growing on over an arch trellis. This is the first year I've see it covered by gulf fritillary caterpillars. About a third to a half of the leaves have one chomping away on the undersides, but surprisingly there's not a lot of visible damage to the passion fruit. I've read that gulf fritillaries are good to have around. Correct me if I'm wrong (or mis-identified them).

Battery model / name for the common M10 ebike
Many Chinese-made ebikes use the same or similar battery on the M10 bikes. The bikes are sold under various names including Zefiora, Isinwheel, Qnut...

This listing mentions "XT60" connector, but there's more to compatibility than just the connector (mounting rails, lock, etc).
Are all of their batteries interchangeable? What is the model or style of those batteries? Their descriptions are merely 48v 10/15/17.5 Ah battery.

Rear wheel shifts despite tightening nut
The rear wheel slips under hard pedaling and rubs against the frame. I've tightened the nut which helps temporarily, but it eventually slips under hard pedaling. The wheel is true, no wobbling. Is there a good way to lock the position of the left rear nut? The right one has a more robust system that keeps it in place.

Suit hole repair
I have a Jos A Bank suit that has a nice soft fabric that I like. I don't wear it often so it's stored in the closet most of the year. I took it out and something chewed holes in it 😞

Cactus blooms at Pease Park
Huge bed of cactus fruit at the edge of Pease Park. Most of the petals have fallen, leaving behind the developing fruit.

EvGo prices not competitive
Applied the Memorial Days promo codes and charged at EvGo. All in it was 68.5 cents/kWh. The Supercharger down the street is 37.5 c/kWh. I don't see how EvGo stays in business and why people pay so much for it when there are much cheaper options. For reference, residential rates here average 15 c/kWh.

Grub: friend or foe
Grubs almost everywhere I dig in the garden and yard. Size varies, but lately they've been big honkers. This one is about 2" long stretched out. When curled up it's about the size of a quarter. I leave these on the sidewalk as a treat for the birds. but I read that there are some beneficial insects that start their lives as grubs. Should I eliminate these?
