Bougie Brekkie

Bougie Brekkie

2 Eggs lightly scrambled and folded with goat Gouda inside. Garden tomato sliced with chopped fresh basil. All of that drizzled with olive oil, salt, pepper. Three slices of prosciutto wrapped around Buffalo mozzarella.
The mouthgasm is to take a bite of each thing and savor it together. Really a flavor symphony! ☺️

A meal you thought you would never stop loving?

I have been carnivore for over a month and I noticed the brain gut connection has me desiring differently. I’m glad because now it doesn’t feel like a diet anymore but the way I will eat 95% of the time to feel my best.

I used to be a Ramen lover! Something so cozy and soothing about a bowl of Ramen.. I would even drive all over the place to try a new spot. I’m in NY so we have it all over.

I don’t want to say never ever, but I highly doubt I will ever eat a bowl of Ramen again.. i’m not sad about it. It’s just like, wow. Good times. The benefits of carnivore for me outweigh my “foodie” self.

Of all the foods that were troublesome, gluten made me feel the worst. Beloved everything bagels? I’m good on it. Thin crust pizza? Been there done that.

I’m happy I can still eat sashimi though! 😊

The summer is a drinking trigger

Hey everyone, so I live on Long Island and it’s party central all around me in the summer. I am 9 months sober and every single summer I relapse and fall back into binge drinking. It is not an option this time as I have great accountability now which I didn’t before.
It is still agitating though. I feel like I used to “enjoy the summer more” with that carefree buzz but I know that isn’t the truth. That is a lie that i am coming to recognize has been deeply embedded in me-That every summer is like a 3 or 4 month long party “that I deserve”.
I have been having a great summer actually, exploring fun things to do with the hubby, getting into the best physical shape of my life, taking care of my mental health more than ever.. but still.. this is the first summer I am enjoying life without the drink. It’s strange. It’s beautiful. It’s sometimes frustrating that I can’t just have one or two. It helps to have my yummy sparkling waters as a “treat” or a good coffee hits the spot as well. I don’t ever want to be a slave to drinking again now that I’m free but a cold beer seems to go really well with a hot day on the beach. Haha. So, summer is somewhat of a trigger for me. Having a game plan with my spare time helps also.
Just needed to vent. I wonder if anyone relates to living in an area that is party hardy all summer long.
Thanks for reading. God bless you all on your journey.

Sometimes fasting food isn't the fast that God is desiring from us.

I do understand that fasting denotes going without food. In a spiritual sense, it can be a way of humbling ourselves to draw near to God for some reason or another so I find it to be of importance as a practice but if we are to look at the reason why we fast, does it always mean going without food in particular? Think about this in the context of today where we have more distractions than ever, more dopamine hitting habits than ever, etc. other than eating.

I have often heard people fasting from food for spiritual reasons, only for it to backfire and make them sin more bc of the extreme deprivation and negative impact on the brain. I have also heard positive testimonies. I have fasted before from food for spiritual reasons but I continued to have liquids that contained some minerals and calories such as broth. The fast was still very effective as God revealed to me what I was looking to know (through 3 consecutive vivid dreams) and then gave me direction after that that led to a healing. I did not feel tortured and deprived since I had some kind of sustenance. There is something to say about "going without" and becoming still before God.

I also think that the metabolic issues we deal with today and overabundance of food may play into making fasting more difficult compared to a time where food was more of a scarcity and fasting was more commonly practiced, sometimes not by choice.

The Bible also doesn't state the specifics of how they fasted whenever it is mentioned. For example, was it just a portion of the day? Did they have a little bite or drink of something in between and if so, what? We have no way of knowing this for sure but I don't believe it is of the Holy Spirit to deprive ourselves of nourishment in the hopes of becoming closer to God or getting some kind of breakthrough. I do think it is of the Holy Spirit to pray and ask God, "If you would have me fast, what would you have me fast from?"

So, all this to say, I was praying about it and didn't have peace about doing a fast from food again. God led me to fast from my social media intake instead of food intake and since I got rid of IG FB and stopped consuming so many "voices", my sensitivity to God's direction over my life has been immensely more clear. I had to make several huge decisions recently and had no anxiety or hesitation about which way to go, and I have never had stronger peace.

Just sharing to inspire anyone who feels like they "can't fast" or to hear anyone else who wants to piggyback on what I am saying. I am an advocate for fasting food for spiritual reasons but I don't think it needs to look a certain way and I do think you need to pray for wisdom on how to go about it as a whole.

I think many Christians throw this concept around so casually as if it is so easy to go without any food and it can make other believers feel belittled when they find it difficult to do so. There just needs to be more wisdom surrounding this topic.

God uses whatever season you are in to make you more like Christ. A message of Hope.

Whether you are in a season of waiting, suffering, uncertainty, big responsibility, super blessing, etc. do not let the opportunity go to waste that is right before you.

Try not to look at things in terms of good and bad but as "how can this be a tool to be less of me and more of Jesus Christ?" This is going to grow your faith and bring so much glory to God who's ultimate calling on your life is to make you more like Jesus.

As you decrease, and He increases, your life will overflow with blessing in the spiritual because you are relying on Him more deeply. This is the "priceless gain of knowing Christ" as we let go of the old self continually, however His spirit leads us today.

"God, give me eyes to see how you see" is a prayer that has carried me through heavy seasons where I could not see the light at the end of the tunnel at first. God delivered me from different types/degrees of suffering (job, physical, mental, relational) by shifting my perspective to see less through my physical eyes and more through my spiritual eyes. God showed me that the "bad" things the "unpleasant" things were my teachers and I stopped resisting, I embraced and held onto to God tightly as He gave me tools to strengthen me and comfort me continually.

The two biggest tools He convicted me to grip hold of: a daily hunger for studying His word to fellowship with Him and the courage to engage in Christian community unreservedly despite church hurt. These two tools were immense supports during times I was in agony and despair. I am now grateful for that dark season because it was the conduit to experience Jesus in a way I may never have been able to if I weren't suffering so much. This is what I mean when I say Don't let an opportunity go to waste. Satan wants to use our suffering to ruin our testimony/make the gospel seem weak in our lives and provoke us to seek out counterfeit comfort which leads us to more suffering and shame. The answer to that is James 4:7-8 "Humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you."

If there is one thing I have learned in the valleys and the mountains, God doesn't let any season of life go to waste if you are truly abiding in Him. I went through a few years of wild testing and trials and I am just now seeing how God used all of that to make me the person I am to be able to HANDLE the blessing He has delivered me now. You need to trust that God has you exactly where you are meant to be and pray for wisdom to move with patience and gratitude no matter what situation you are in. PRAISE IS OUR WEAPON.

If you pray for wisdom to manage your current season to the glory of God, you will be the one that is blessed in the end. The word says repeatedly that "those who trust in Him will never be let down". I have seen that promise in real time and I am here to testify to the goodness of God.

Your faith grows more when you trust yet have no reason to trust Him. You don't "feel" anything, yet you trust in Him and wait in stillness before Him because you know Him, you know His word and He cannot go back on it. This is why knowledge of God and His promises must be the foundation of our faith - they are unchanging. Feelings & experiences come and go.

May God bless you brothers and sisters. Keep fighting the good fight.

This is one of my favorites:

The LORD directs the steps of the godly.

He delights in every detail of their lives.

Though they stumble, they will never fall,

for the LORD holds them by the hand.

Psalm 37:23-24 NLT

Fave GB so far goes to…

REP provisions “grass fed beef primal blend max”
80/20 with 15% liver heart and spleen

I have pretty much tried everyone’s ground beef, different supermarkets, different online stores, and the quality of this product is so exceptional that I really prefer to eat it raw to enjoy its pure flavor.
I don’t know if the combination of organ meats is what’s making the flavor so amazing but it’s definitely not as mineraly tasting as organs are.. there is a slight nuttiness.

I have the subscription to 20 pounds, which with shipping costs me $285. I can adjust how often it delivers. So this works out to $14.25 a pound.
At first, I couldn’t justify it, but after trying different ground beef, I have adjusted everything I spend money on to make this work in my budget because I love it that much.

Not affiliated at all just wanted to share with my fellow carnivore community that this has been a total delight for my taste buds, tummy and mind. 😊

Treating myself with…

A beautiful strip steak, two eggs fried in tallow with this amazing goat Gouda melted in that I highly recommend if you can find it! I had to treat myself to a “special cheese”.
I am a few days into my luteal phase where I normally experience PMDD in which my kind husband patiently waits for the real me to return once I menstruate.
But guess what? The typical symptoms (dark depressive thoughts, everyone is against me, what’s the point in anything attitude, general melancholy expression, etc) are barely there. I am also extremely tired for a full 7 days and can’t find motivation to get up early yet I am getting up with the sunrise naturally, doing my little Bible study, moving my body and having brekkie.
I had one irrational mental episode last night but came out of it quicker than usual.
What I’ve been doing is feeding myself lots of delicious fats as I heard how that helps with hormones and incorporating some kind of gentle movement when I wake up and in the evening- walking, yoga, and lymphatic focused exercises.
Never been into heavy cream but adding it to my coffee is a new found fave as well as taking bites of cold butter!
Amazing how nourishing fat is to us yet it has been so demonized… coincidence? I think not. They want us to rely on meds 🤑🤑 IMO, spending the money on grass fed / pasture raised (when I can) is my health insurance!
Have a blessed day 🕊️ stay grateful!!!

my supplements are wondering if I am going to throw them out eventually

I was one of those supplement obsessed people. I thought of myself as somewhat of a supplement expert lol - meaning I had something to recommend to anyone who told me about some kind of pain or ailment. I had the pill box with the section for AM and PM filled up. Since I have been on carnivore I haven't taken anything and I feel great. I am slowly realizing and accepting that I am going to be well nourished on this lifestyle especially bc I incorporate a lot of organ meats and seafood. I take the "trace 40,000 volts" electrolytes daily and love that product.

So does anyone here still hang onto a couple of "Just in Case" supplements? Did you throw everything out?

Or do you still take any supplements that you really believe in the benefits of which you don't think you are going to have sufficient amounts of by eating carnivore style?

For example... I swear by this, that "Wellness Formula" has knocked the beginning stages of sickness (sore throat, feeling low immune system) OUT of my husband and I in multiple past situations effectively. The ingredients are potent so I have to believe plants are helpful when used medicinally.

I was thinking of finishing off my astaxanthin just because I have it and hate to throw away money spent... I considered it one of those super antioxidants but I am starting to question everything I believed in of course.

I have to say letting go of my love of supplements and the security they brought me is definitely a thing! haha -- wasn't expecting that. Definitely going to save my money that I can put towards more fatty meat!

Eating this much fat is a transition

Mentally and physically working towards 70% fat 30% protein but right now I’m comfortable at 65/35. Might just be what works for me! I can’t stomach any more fat right now.
I realized pretty quickly I had to cut out butter (even beautiful cultured ghee) ..sucks I know but I was getting acne all over, switched to tallow and skin is gawgeous!

So I am using fitness pal just bc I’m only in two (super consistent) weeks and adjusting to the high fat requires a mental rewiring as well as a physical getting used to. I recommend anyone new use it in the beginning until you get the hang of things.
If I don’t use fitness pal, I will absolutely under eat. Trying to hit 1700 Cals is even a challenge (39/F/145lbs/active) but I have to say I CRAVE this food (beef eggs salmon/sardines) everyday. I can’t wait to eat the same things over and over which is so funny bc I always spent so much time meal prepping and chopping multitudes of veggies. Sayonara to that bs.
FYI US WELLNESS meats is having a sale on 75% lean ground beef if you buy it in bulk. 😁 not affiliated just thought someone might wanna jump on the savings as I surely did.
Over the weekend hubby and I always go out to eat. We went to a German place and I had sauerkraut over pastrami. Subbed the potato salad for their cooked veggie medley. I felt like I was sinning by eating the two pieces of carrot 🤣 i slept fine and feel fine but I’m slightly bloated this morning. Hubby says “look at all the desserts!” I used to gaze with him until I salivated and this time I couldn’t resonate at all. Never a cheesecake or an everything bagel or a thin crust pizza again? ever?? Nah, give me a rib eye or some pork belly. I think I’m a true convert but time will tell.
Sorry not sorry for the rant! 🥳

How do you evangelize?

I am very familiar with "The Way of the Master" by Ray Comfort and I can see that coming in handy when you need to explain the sin condition and why we fall short, but what other words and ways do YOU share the Gospel with others? Do you wait for an open door or do you just BAM hit them with Hey, can I share Jesus with you? Do you hand people pamphlets or tracts? Do you ask them if they go to church or some particular question that always opens the door to deeper convo?

I am asking because I feel like God puts strangers in my path constantly and I want to share with them in an authentic way but sometimes I just don't know how to initiate that. It doesn't feel good to let them walk away knowing I could have pointed them to eternal life but I do pray for them afterwards. If you could say a quick prayer that God gives me more courage in speaking the truth in love, I would so appreciate it.

Looking to hear how you personally go about evangelizing. Thank you.

Top Science Backed Info on Carnivore?

I have been listening to Dr. Anthony Chaffee more than anyone else regarding the science behind why this works and why we don't need as much as we are told such as Vit C. Listening to the way he breaks things down scientifically has given me clear understanding and immense confidence in continuing on in this lifestyle that has already blessed my mind and body tenfold.

Aside from the fact that he has lived it for so long, he seems the to be the most authentic and consistent with the information regardless of the product sponsors. I understand that you need to take everyone with a grain of salt as he is UBER strict but I wanted to ask this community if there is anyone else on par with the science explaining aspect like him? I am simply looking to learn more and compare more information as I am quite fascinated by how much going carnivore has improved my mental health, physical health, etc. in such a short amount of time. It is as if I came into homeostasis.

I know of all the other well known YTers that promote carnivore but I am asking for any recommendations on people who go into the actual science behind it to debunk all the myths surrounding it and support the lifestyle long term.

Thank you in advance!

Craving it RAW

Here is my beautiful brekkie. Two eggs, butter and salt with a sirloin lightly seared on all sides, but mostly raw. It is melt in your mouth like sashimi tender. I’ve been carnivore for almost one week. I was previously keto so the transition period was minimal. Lost all desire for veggies and “healthy carbs” 🤔 ..was also obsessed with hot sauce, like everything had to be drenched in it but now I could care less about it. I may still use here and there.. What I DO crave is raw meat. What a pure delight, my body mind and soul are thanking me!

My sleep is incredibly deep and restorative, I am waking up naturally with the sunrise.
I could write an essay on how good I feel, but I’ll save it for a one month testimony. Basically I feel “upgraded” on every possible level. Food is still highly enjoyable, but I have no desire to reach for a snack just because. Amazed at how this diet aligns your self control so naturally. We’ll see how that goes down in my luteal phase when cravings sky rocket. 🤗

Tiptoeing into carnivore and stomach not tolerating what was once normal

I am wondering if others have experienced this and would love to hear specific examples!
I have been gradually shifting to a carnivore diet over the last 2-3 weeks. When I am strict with it I feel light in my body, clear headed, just better in every sense. Now I am noticing when I indulge in something I used to enjoy my stomach, body, and mind are almost like “why did you do that?” For example I had tacos, chips and salsa a few nights ago and I woke up feeling horrible almost as if I was slightly poisoned. Then an ice cream cone today and I felt a little sick. It was never like that when I didn’t eat mostly carnivore. I am not doing this stuff every night just here and there but I am genuinely losing my desire for the “treats” the more I eat clean carnivore because of the internal signals I am getting.
In a sense I’m glad because I want to be full carnivore due to all the benefits. I feel it is the most liberating way to eat but it sure is a transition.

I have never had a citibank card yet keep getting alerts that a dormant account is now active

I am hoping someone can share insight with this as I am so confused. Once every few months I get an alert notification from Chase and Experian that a dormant citibank bank card has been activated. I have already contacted citibank and they found no accounts with my name and could not give me any reason as to why I keep getting these alerts. I keep thinking someone out there has a card with my name on it. My credit score has not been affected or went down as a result of this but I just can't understand it other than some glitch in the system..?
