Musculoskeletal Symptoms and Pain not resolving

Just sharing recent experiences and frustration.

I’ve worked hard to get health and weight under control in recent years. Menopause makes things a bit complictated, but I’ve managed well… up until the past few months that is.

The aches and pains are getting ridiculous. I’ve already had shots in my knee, and will likely need shoulder soon. The Ortho says the pain is likely menopausal related, so I followed up with my GYN.

GYN agreed, and subsequently increased my HRT patches, and gave me some stretching exercises. It helped, but only mildly so, and only in combination with an anti-inflammatory diet. Upon follow up, he thought it best I see my PCP for the increasing pain.

Got to see her today, and she’s testing inflammatory markers and other difficiencies just to ensure nothing else is going on internally.

I’m just venting here… this part has been super frustrating. I’m plus size, but very active and this is dampening my spirits.

Deroofed Blister Care?

Recently developed a blister from a new pair of dance boots. (Forgot to wear moleskin. Rookie mistake!) The protective skin flap tore off when I removed my sock. (I’ve never had that happen!) Can I place a hydrocolloid or hydrogel patch over this? I have kept it clean and used a non stick bandage and rested it yesterday, but I have rehearsal today!

Met the Concept Artist & Production Designer from the 1987 movie!

Got to meet William Stout at a Convention yesterday. He was the concept artist and production designer for the 1987 Masters of the Universe with Dolph Lundgren. He really talks to fans. Doesn’t rush them along. Great guy.

Great interview link here with him discussing the project.

Would love to see the Tony’s honor Anthony Head

Just hearing news about Anthony Head’s passing. Given his connection to Rocky Horror (He originated the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the West End Revival) I’d love to see the Tony’s give a nod to him this weekend.

Honest Review - Dutch Bros Coffee

I had some free time this morning, so I went and braved the line at the new(ish) Dutch Bros coffee in Indian Trail.

I am an iced coffee lover, so I was excited to try their product. I ordered a ‘Golden Eagle’ from their favorites menu. (Espresso, Carmel & Vanilla, and Half & Half.)

I can honestly say this was not worth the wait. While the servers are amazing and probably the most friendly in the area, the coffee was average at best, and I’ve had better flavor at McDonalds.

Curious to know what others think? I’m definitely missing my Clutch.

New Fan on the Irish Spring 5 in 1 bandwagon!

Hey friends.

Long time lurker here, but I finally tried using Irish Spring 5 in 1 in an attempt to remove the gray buildup in our shower. Pretty sure it’s Fiberglass. (Definitely not Tile or Acrylic)

I read a lot about leaving it on overnight, but it made me nervous.The result I got was after 2 1/2 hours with a dampened towel sitting on top to keep it moist, and a quick scrub with a magic eraser. It did require a little elbow grease, but I suspect if I had left it on longer it would have been fine with just a quick scrub and rinse.

It smells like a teenage boy bathed in axe body spray, but dissipates quickly. Overall, this was a great find!

I was not aware that hormonal fluctuation (specifically changes and drops in estrogen) can cause joint pain and soft tissue swelling. Had to see ortho today, and ended up with a cortisone shot. My doc said he sees and treats a lot of menopausal women. He suggested coming back in three months if needed, and in the meantime low impact exercise and stretching.

Hi friends! Long time lurker, first time poster here. My hot flashes and night sweats have come back full force. They previously subsided when I was put on the following regimen:

* Estradiol Patch.

* ‘Health & Her’ peri vitamin (doc liked the ingredients in this vs the ‘meno’ formula)

* magnesium (for sleep)

* Quercitin (for these gnarly menopause related histamine / itchy episodes)

Could anyone offer any additional suggestions or changes to ask my doc about when I see them?
