Sigma 56mm vs Viltrox 75mm

I know this is pretty common comparison and it feels like people are generally leaning more towards the Sigma 56, but I already own Sigma 17-40. I want a lens specifically for portraits and maybe street/people, I have a feeling that due to already owning Sigma 17-40, the Sigma 56 might not give me much difference where Viltrox 75 would? I still plan to use 17-40 as my main/daily lens, so Sigmas portability does not play too much here for me.

Thank you in advance!

ASP-C Fisheye help

I need help to pick right aspc fisheye lens.
I want to do portraits and close shoots with it.

I have found Samyung 8mm and TTartisan 7.5mm (7Artisan also have 7.5mm?).

Anyone have either of these? Any photo examples, suggestions? Lenses seem to be very old, but it seems like there’s no better available yet?

I plan to use it on a6700.

How is recovery calculated

I have often wondered how recovery percentage is really calculated and while sometimes it correlates properly with the data, sometimes it is fully confusing.

Look at my todays recovery, i have every single metric “better” than yesterday, yet my recovery is worse?

There’s probably something I just don’t know about?

Concerts with RX100V(-A)

I thrifted RX100VA recently, but haven’t used in a concert yet.
I find a lot of videos/posts about concerts, but with RX100VII instead and pictures look really good.

I thought I did my research on this and decided that F1.8 and nd-filter is a nobrainer for this use-case, but somehow I know keep finding replies/comments that VII is a way to go instead of VA

Did I make a mistake?

Has anyone been doing indoor concerts with V or VA and can share results?

How to achieve this?

How are these edited?

My main questions:

  1. Glow is probably clarity and dehaze? How exactly?
  2. Which colors are turned down and up?
  3. I see a lot of grain, but LR have multiple knobs, how to use them so grain looks good?

All these are probably not “same preset” but style/direction is similar. Trying to understand how.

Edit: Before I asked this, i tried to play around with everything and just can’t replicate even remotely, so need a guidance/direction.

Edit 2: These are not film, 100% sure. Author uses Leica.

Camera settings for fast moments

Ignore the title, I don’t know how to summerize my question, but basically, imagine the following situation.

I am going to visit close encounter gorilla tribes in Africa and I am taking my A6700 with me. I am not an expert photographer and I am going to have people that only have done iPhone photos.

What settings would be the safest to get the best possible footage in that situation where you might not have the proper time to adjust and have to react super quickly to catch moments and you will give that camera to people that have 0-ish experience with mirrorless camera?

Is it “auto” or like “apeture priority” mode set to to like a specific F? (Is it 1.8 or 5.6 or 8?)

I will have my 17-40 Sigma most probably attached.

RX100V questio

I’ve got a question.

I have A6700 with Sigma 17-40 as my main setup.
To have something more compact I bought SG Image 25mm f1.8. That combo is compact-ish, but.. it’s still not pocketable, nor can be brought to indoor/outdoor concerts.

I am thinking of RX100V to bring a literally pocketable camera to some events where I don’t want a visible camera (and attend concerts)

It costs 700 euros at least. Is it worth it? Or should I just stick to SG Image and simply use iPhone for concerts?

Need motivation

Can anyone red-pill-me on staying with A6700? I only hear "AF this, AF that", but why does every fuji photo looks thousand times better than anything A6700 produces? I even purchased a 17-40 Sigma lens which is supposed to be S tier. Am I just not skilled enough? I went through this entire sub and I am not seeing what I imagined to see. Everything is just flat and not colourful.

Is Sony FF line the answer? Or just Fuji ASPCs?

Anyone got A6700 + Sigma 17-40 and can share a photos that are worth looking at?
