Returning player and new to WOTC - I am not having a good time

I probably just suck but holy fuck am I getting absolutely slaughtered at the start. The warlock is supposed to be the easy chosen right? Like a joke of a character and he keeps spawning in at the absolute worst of times. Lost hordes galore, he MCs my gunner while hiding allllll the way at the back of the map making it impossible to break the MC. So now I'm down a characteer and hes murdering my squad with the gunner.

I'm just not sure what the hell is going on, i'm playing on normal(?, default) and just dying left and right..

Edit: I'm also feeling really overwhelmed with the overworld map. Like I try and extract some resources that takes 5 days and in that time about 3 other events pop up that have me flying all over the map to deal with 'immediate' needs all while the blacksite is counting down and I can't built connections there because i'm blowing resources on recruits.

Double edit: I’ve restarted. It’s going better. Just a bad series of events I guess that snowballed into living hell

Hey uh what do I do with this bird? There are two nests nearby with different parent birds and I don’t want to put it in the wrong nest.

Normally I’d just yeet it back into the closet nest but there are 2 nests near each other with two different families that fight. They are constantly swooping at one another.

There is a pile of feathers nearby from an adult bird fight. This little guy must have skittered away behind the trashcan nearby to hide. Not sure which nest it came from

This is bent right? Chain derailed.

So I’ve been having hell with this used bike. I was having issues with constant chain drops on the high gear. Well today it dropped off the low side behind the set and wedged between the spokes.

I think what ultimately lead to this was a loose through axel(name?). I recently changed my tires since the used ones were toast. I thought I cranked down the axel but honestly didn’t use a torque wrench at the time.

This whole ride I was chasing gears with the micro adjuster. It would be fine the start click clacking. Post mortem it’s like the rear forks(frame arms?) were widening making the indexing miss align. Enough widening and pop over the low side went the chain.

All that being said when I got to fixing it on the side of the road and flipped the bike there was a gnarly line from jockey wheel( I think both of those small gears are jockey wheels) to the back of the set which aligns with the angle of the derailleur guards/wall sides.

Can I just bend the walls back straight?

Struggling with arty-facts and ... caring?

I feel like I've always focused on museum layout and making 'zones' for the various regions worth of stuff. Dinos go with dinos, plants with plants, a little mixing where appropriate to bridge the zones together nicely.

With arty-facts I find myself absolutely giving zero shits about placement. Its difficult if not impossible to tell at a glance from your inventory what youre looking at during layout.

Visually I know what the painting looks like, but is a joy piece? is it a sorrow who the fuck knows. You can have a dark moody picture that is joy? So you might be going for a visual 'feel' but the painting is giving exact opposite vibes to the patrons.

I find myself just throwing art down all over the place without any real flow.

------

Edit: Come to think of it is there any cross dlc/base game content here? Like you could marine life in Scorched earth (fantasy). This forces you to employ various experts and leads to diversity. So far the new map only has art and art alone. There should be some prehistory expert requirement for the 'old' stuff or something. I also would have expected some kind of sketched animal/fish to go along with the sketch theme.

Hey all so I recently got a 2022 Topstone 4. Used but seemingly taken care of by a multi bike owner.

I’m coming from a MTB and noticing that if I level the pedals by back spinning at speed in my highest gear (smallest cog, not sure the right lingo there) the chain slacks up a TON and sometimes drops.

I took the bike to REI to get the shifting (and brakes, unrelated) tuned but the issue still exists. The shifting is better for sure (it was missing shifts or taking 3-4 revs before shifting before per click) but the chain still drops.

It also feels like on my MTB I can be giving it some up and go and shift without hearing hardcore clunks like I do with the gravel bike.

The main difference I attribute is the MTB is brand new Trail 1 and the Gravel bike is older and maybe just gunked up needing a deep clean?

When I went to REI initially I briefly mentioned the back spin issue but we really focused on the missed shifts more than anything else. I think if I bring it back within 30 days it’ll fall under the same job so potentially no cost but am I wasting my time? Is it just expected? Seems to maybe be per some other threads “just don’t back pedal, it’s meant to go forwards”.
