Poster/Merch for Rerelease?

Does anyone think theaters will be handing out posters or any free little trinket for the rerelease? I saw the art they were posting on their official social media account and thought maybe that would be the design? Or the new poster? I'm really hoping for something!

J-Tube X-Ray - does this look normal?

I had a J-Tube back in 2020 that caused a TREMENDOUS amount of pain and trouble. I just found an x-ray photo they took and saw how kinked and knotted the tubing is.

My surgeon told my mom after the procedure that he put "extra tubing" in there because I was so malnourished and tiny.

Does this look normal for a J-Tube? Obviously going to consult with a doctor, but wanted to ask anyone with experience if they knew.

(photo in comments because I can't figure out how to add it to the post

ACOTAR - what am I missing?

I recently started reading a bit more fantasy/romantasy and decided to cave and try ACOTAR. All I'd heard on Bookstagram was that it was the greatest modern fantasy series to ever grace the planet and while I'm not a "trendy reader," I wanted to see what the fuss was about...

I don't get it.

God help me, I don't understand why people like these books - and I don't mean that in a cruel way. I genuinely want to like them. Here's my biggest problems so far....(I'm almost done with ACOMAF)

1: Feyre as a protagonist - the only two times time that I found Feyre compelling were >!a) when she underwent the trials Under the Mountain!< and >!b) when she winnowed and took out Rhysand's hunters!<. Other than that, I've found her to be very passive and reactive EVEN WHEN it's a scene where they're tying to portray her as strong. She reminds me a lot of Bella from Twilight in that she's just kind of standing there waiting to be told what to do. By no means do I need my female protagonists coated in blood and baring their teeth, but Feyre's character is not matching how SJM is trying to portray her.

2: Rhysand as a love interest - THIS GUY BOTHERS ME. Everything that happened >!Under the Mountain!< just seems to have been swept away and Feyre just accepted everything >!he made her do!<. I get that he's supposed to be the brooding morally grey guy, but it feels like SJM got "morally grey" mixed up with "acting like a dick" all the time. His banter with Feyre is way way way overdone and uncomfortably sexual from the beginning. I can appreciate the trauma he went through, but he still feels so shallowly written. Like a caricature of the whole enemies-to-lovers love interest.

3: The writing - there's a lot of small things that bother me about the writing style. The only reaction characters are allowed to have apparently is to vomit or feel like they're going to crap their pants. SJM also states the obvious A LOT. Annoyingly so. I can appreciate the world-building and that she's created this whole magical system, but the *actual* writing feel like a Twilight version of Lord of the Rings.

4: Modern vs. fantasy - there have been SO MANY TIMES where I want to throw the book across the room for how modern it feels. Personally, I hate when modern curse words end up in a fantasy world where they speak in a different way and this one kills me. Maybe they got them from the human world, but anytime I see dialogue that sounds modern in the context of fantasy settings, I want to break into hives. They also make the world of Prythian sound way too much like ours. >!Like going dancing at the Velaris club? The lingerie store?!< Maybe that's just a me thing, but it takes me out of believing in the world I'm in.

5: Feyre and Rhysand - Oh my gosh, they bother me. They bother me so much. I already got it spoiled for me >!that Rhysand and Feyre are mates!<, BUT EVEN SO, Rhysand has creeped me out for a long while. I felt grossed out. All they can do is ogle each other and make innuendos. I'm supposed to believe that these two are >!soulmates!< essentially and there's never been any real depth to their connection. EVEN WHEN THERE'S SUPPOSED TO BE, I just can't feel it. Obviously attraction is a part of falling in love, but SJM just seems stuck on it.

I'm determined to finish ACOMAF in hopes that it gets better, but I'm so disappointed that I didn't fall in love like everyone else. Are the rest any better? Am I looking at something wrong?

Leaky Gut Support from Thorne

Anyone have any experience with the Leaky Gut Support (formerly Enteromend) from Thorne? I'm considering trying it and just wanted to know if anyone had any stories to share - also thinking about trying their GI Relief.

(respectfully, if supplements aren't your thing, please don't comment any advice)

Thorne GI Relief

Anyone have any luck trying GI Relief from Thorne? It's DGL, slippery elm, marshmallow, and aloe blended together in a capsule you can either swallow or dissolve in water for some sort of tea.

They also have a Leaky Gut Support that looks intriguing - looking to hear stories about either one before I spend my money on them.

Disheartened - where do I go from here?

I've been trying to teach myself music theory for ten years and I feel like none of it has ever stuck. I can sight read a few notes and remember a couple of sharps and flats within keys - I have no idea why I have such a hard time with it. It's overwhelming to me, as are the 1000 different approaches to it.

I don't want to be a musician that just plays chords and doesn't know the science behind it, because a lot of my ideas require way more knowledge than I have. I just don't know what to do.

Any encouragement or advice on just learning the bare bones would be appreciated. I really want to be a better musician.

Legitimate Screenplay Competitions?

I'm finding that festivals with screenplay competitions are far and few between. I found Nashville Film Fest and entered there, but everything else I see on FilmFreeway looks like either a scam or highly unprofessional.

Anyone know of any others?

Steve in the Doomsday teaser vs. Doomsday trailer

In the teaser, he's all clean shaven and looks exactly like he did at the end of Endgame...but in the trailer, he's got the nomad Infinity War look back....thoughts?

Doom from FF's universe?

I keep thinking about the scene in First Steps where Sue's speaking to the delegates (can't remember about what) and the Latveria seat is empty, obviously insinuating Victor's absence...do we think that's RDJ?

I think it would make a lot of sense if he came from their timeline because it would add a personal layer to Reed and Sue fighting him. Would also allow for some *killer* scenes between Pedro and Robert.

(full disclosure, I have very little comic knowledge)

Best Probiotic?

What's the best probiotic everyone's had success with? I've tried many over the years but right now I'm on generic Walmart ones due to budget - definitely need to get something stronger.

Chronic Illness Prayer Request

I'm 27 and have been dealing with chronic illness for the majority of my life. For the last year and a half, I've been in a flareup that has overtaken my life. I barely leave the house, work is incredibly hard to get through, and all the things I love to do in my spare time don't get done because of the pain I'm in. I'm not really getting better and I've lost a lot of faith in God that I'll ever be healed.

The thing is I have a lot of goals and dreams that I have no doubt were given to me by God - they've come about in such "God" ways lol. He's opening up doors slowly to me, but I'm still too sick to walk through all of them, yet I still have all this ambition.

I want to believe that if God gave me all these plans and dreams that by His will, I'll achieve them. I just can't see a way out of it right now being this sick.

I started praying last night over my stomach (that's the part that's sick) because I saw a TikTok saying we should curse and reject the sickness in our body in Jesus' name. I kind of liked that idea because it reminds me the sickness isn't from God. He didn't cause me to be sick.

I just would really appreciate prayer for healing and for the faith to keep believing that He'll heal me. I have so much I want to achieve in this life and I'm trying really hard to have faith that I'll get to accomplish it.

Chronic Illness/Injury - losing hope

For the last eight years, I've been dealing with major chronic health issues. I have gastroparesis, gastritis and debilitating IBS which keep me malnourished and dehydrated. Doctors won't treat me and the few that try usually end up making things worse with their suggestions.

I also have been dealing with a neck injury for several years that has kept me in terrible pain and with HORRIBLE tinnitus. I'm finally in physical therapy for it but with a terrible flare up of my other conditions, I haven't been able to go to my appointments, leaving me with terrible pain and the tinnitus getting worse again.

Years of trauma and mental health issues have worsened all my physical ailments. I don't have a church or any friends or family to call on. I need to be healed to take care of the family I do have - my mother has just been diagnosed with a potentially terminal illness and I can't take proper care of her. I have a special needs sibling that I am partially responsible for.

Because it's been so long and I've only gotten worse, I feel like God has given up on me, or that I'm meant to be one of those tragic stories that never got better. I have dreams and goals and I can't achieve them. I'm trying so hard to have faith, but I can't find any reason to thank Him or worship Him when He's allowed me to suffer for this long.

Any prayers would be appreciated. For healing, for faith...anything.

Acid Rebound from PPI

Best way to deal with acid rebound from PPI? I've only been on them (omeprazole 40mg 1x day) for 3 weeks but need to get off quickly as they have SEVERELY worsened my GP symptoms. I took a 20mg this morning.

(Yes, I am PPI they can worsen GP. I HAD to go on them for my gastritis. Not looking for anyone's opinion on the matter - just the question above.)

Trouble Writing Melodies

I've written primarily lyrics most of my life but am working more in completing my songs. I'm finding I have trouble writing melodies - sometimes they come out right away, but most of the time, I'm flailing. Does any one else relate? What has helped you?

To be fair, my music theory knowledge is minimal; I'm just stringing chords that I know go together. I've always struggled with music theory so if anyone has any suggestions regarding learning methods there, I'd welcome them.

PPI side effects

I was put on a six week course of omeprazole 40mg for my gastritis. I spoke to my GI beforehand and asked about the delayed gastric emptying that can come with taking PPIs and was assured that because it was a short course, it shouldn't be an issue. I just passed the three week mark.

In the last two days, I've noticed my pre-existing gastroparesis has gotten worse (excessive belching, abdominal pressure, able to eat less and less food, nausea) has all gotten worse. Has anyone else experienced this with PPIs so early in the course? I've read stories about people saying long-term use caused problems, but I'm only halfway through. Absolutely miserable from not eating.

Zinc-l-carnosine side effects - good or bad?

Lifelong diagnosis of chronic inactive gastritis and recent reactive gastropathy diagnosis.

Took my first dose of zinc-l-carnosine this morning. I got the Source Naturals version and cut the dose in half (so it's 37.5) just to test how I did with it. I did take it with food as my stomach is pretty sensitive. Since taking it I've had a very mild discomforting sensation in my stomach - I'm not sure whether to call it pain or what, but it definitely knows there's a new supplement in there 😂 I'm not nauseous or anything so I seemed to avoid that with taking it with breakfast.

Just wondering if anyone else who has taken it experienced this? Is there discomfort at first? Does it ease up? Is this a sign that maybe it's not right? I'm psyching myself out thinking I must be having a bad reaction.

EDIT: The stomachache has just been on and off all day - no real nausea but a lot of gas and just general discomfort. Not sure whether or not to take another dose tomorrow!
