Looking for a recommended brake for a CAT ST I just ordered. Looking for sound and minimizing baffle erosion . Likely to be with a LMT 16" with adjustable gas or a on a 16" Hellion/VHS.
Have to get a Tisha before the state changed the laws here.
Looking for an FFL that would transfer the spas-12 clone with the fixed stock attached that comes included to make it compliant. Prefer north King/south Snohomish and EDIT: either keep the pistol grip in possession of a friend or send it out of state in case the law gets struck down.
CO alarm went off at the house and confirmed by fire department. Disconnected the tankless and the CO dropped from over 50 ppm to traceless.
Opened up the Navian NPE-240A2 and oily condensate all over the plastic on the bottom of the condensing heat exchanger and the plastic at the exhaust port it looks like Ditty threw a party.
Going to call Navian tomorrow as it should be in warranty. Is there a typical point where these heat exchangers fail?
Exhaust is piped proper to code outside, and with the oil I think it's in taking a mix of fresh and exhaust and creating the elevated CO level. I am going to bubble leakcheck at the exhaust port interface tomorrow.
This is in the garage, with garage air intake and exhausts outside where there is no close window. The wired plart is that the firefighters read no CO in the garage, but read the 50ppm where the exhaust from outside has to travel through an open window that is upstairs and offer a bit. I suspect the wind was just right to carry it the CO back inside as a household member was taking a 45 min shower.
Checking to see if I am in the right path and carrying around CO meter that will read 30 ppm while working on this.
Just got my upper in, it feels really rough when cycling even with gun oil and some rough parts I would expect from a blem, but I didn't order a blem.
Has this been fairly everyone's experience with these? I am more worried about the rough cycling than the machining.
Gonna take it to the range if I have time next week and shoot. Will pair with my NFA S-9 lower and replace the CMMG RDB upper on it that I had to modify a lot to get to work with Scorpion mags and reattach the ejector.
Classic start of stagflation and the new chair passed on rates. How did we get here/who is to blame and how do we get out?
My take is that a series of very poor executive actions got us here.
The are arguments for taxing or not taxing unrealized gains. This is the whole billionaires tax. The problem with unrealized gains, is that there are two categories. Leveraged and unleveralged.
How does this work?
What this means is that one is actively being used for some financial mechanism, while some other is not. The one people might use and not realize the tax mechanism are HELOC loans on houses they own. You are using a loan for cash to do something and is not earnings or realized gains.
Now, if I am very wealthy individual with stock or private equity that is not realized (but is growing in value), I can take a loan against it and use that money to live my life, or buy more equity.
These loans are usually at prime or sub-prime rates. A lot of wealthy took these out during the slowdown of 2020-21, and have rates reportedly as low as .89% (though it's probably closer to 1.5%) during this period.
I basically live my life, use the loan money for more financial capital and can take a loan out on that later and never have to realize any gains and pay taxes on this.
The wealthy can do this because
Their wealth is deep enough to survive market conditions.
Their amount of wealth invites them into private capital and loans that the average person is precluded from.
Do they ever pay taxes on earnings?
The kicker is that when it comes to generational wealth, there are mechanism like the GRAT, a trust to transfer wealth between generations and avoid any inheritance tax and the gains in the original tax are never realized because of a change is basis.. this means that the inheritor resets the value of the stock to the transfered value without having to realize gains.
Why no one cares?
People are not educated on this and the presentation of a billionaire tax is something that requires no thoughts.
The people who use this don't want people to know.
There is speculation that Elon was forced to sell some stock to cover the twitter purchase. He wanted to back out because he would have to pay taxes, but the FTC made him commit to the purchase because he was legally bound to. He is pissed and wanted the laws changed to weaken the FTC.
How to fix this?
The easy thing is to have leveraged gains treated like regular income or realized gains on a basis. This would destroy this mechanism of tax avoidance. Include a Heloc cutout of a million dollars tied to raise with inflation so this doesn't affect the person spending money on home improvement or life emergencies.
Where is the difficulty with enforcement?
The difficulty is that there would be bank and firm requirements for these transactions. To be shared. Someone would scream privacy, but these discourse laws are really there to protect the average citizen from knowing what the wealthy do. This would be nice greater of a disclosure than the $10,000 cash transactions required by the banks and would not be very common. I would say loans over $1 million in a year timeframe should be reported, with this tied to inflation as well.
The wealthy have grown in power. The IRS briefcase heist is a good example of early influence for them not to be investigated.

And this is how the wealthy influence rulings. Note this is also the same person (I have no affiliation). His posts on wealthy finance and influence are spot on, I do not have any opinions on this other videos. There is a 100 million vs 100 billion video that sums this up as well.
Existing is what I think is a Zabel 1800. I am looking at replacing it with a polylok pl-122 but looking for suggestions.
Older non-baffle single tank 800 gal concrete tank, 4" outlet.
Average usage about 200 gals a day, worst surge about 900 gals/day during a leak.
I clean the filter about every 4 months and its starting to slow the drainage. Its usually clogged with hair and drain fly larva . I have hair traps at shower drains but all girls with long hair.
Looking at something that will filter same or better. Have more filter surface and has the ball float closure. Thanks
The questions above is wondering how well do you see the party aligned with yourself as a conservative.
Below is the rant of the history of my own beliefs and why I asked this, but it's not important to the question.
15 years ago I was a Republican, probably considered myself a "compassionate conservative", I liked Bush (minus the wars) Romney and McCain. I felt the party has become the type of mindless sheep that corporate and orgs but through PACs now. Not saying the Democrats are great, but find myself voting Democrat more and more because the Republican candidates offered are cowards who basically do anything Trump and Theil say to do. If Massey is a RINO then I can't see myself going back to the gop. I ask this because I went to see some of the very conservative side of the family this weekend with the kids and we always have a good time and we do talk politics. They thought I was a lot more liberal before talking with them but we agree on probably 75% of the issues. Like I have no problems with them being homeschooled as long as they learn similar critical thinking skills and get interactions with other kids, plus we still like guns.
Restock of the 9 modulars
Not asking for names, just has anyone been able to find someone who would do this? My best friend is probably moving to WA and looking at gifting him an AR. I called a few places and nobody is willing to do the transfer besides as a stripped lower.
Bought a case of muscles milk pro 33. This one was unopened in the fridge. It doesn't smell bad but is so thick that it flows slowly. The other 3 that I drank are thicker than most protein shakes but this one is much more thicker.
Bought a mat9 upper last month and waiting for it. I was thinking of asking to swap it for a k sized.
Anyone have experience with the K vs the regular sized one and the ability to keep rounds subsonic. Ideally it would have an vent 2 and replace the NFA s-9 lower that is attached to a RDB upper that I had to machine a lot to work (and gas the RDB ejector wear problem).
Also, are the slip trips good?
Living in WA, we can't get any more fun guns but can tinker with existing ones
Hi wondering if this setup is possible or of the cameras have to directly connect to the home base 3.
I have cameras on a dock and they connect to a WiFi mesh node (Tplink Deco). Its outdoor rated and has POE powering it, same subnet for all devices.
Cams -2.4 wifi- Deco - POE&Data - deco - wired Ethernet - homebase 3
I was wondering if I can and if so, how can I connect the cams to the homebase for local storage and local pattern processing.
I have been collecting cans for a few years, but think the local state laws my change soon, so wanted to see what people suggest in each caliber or another think I should get.
22lr
Wanted a tiger 22, but unsure now due to the lawsuit
Have-Short Round, Gemtek 15/22, gemtek 10/22 takedown, flow22 and a Ruger silent SR
556
I want the Tisha iconocel , and maybe the ODB.
Have-PTR Vent 3, B&T TI print XH, kgm R556A2 (this is high volume, low poi shift can, but is meh sound and med pressure)
308
Open to suggestions here.
Have PTR Vent 1, Hyperion, Griffin Paladin, kgm r30
9mm
Looking at another sub gun can.
Have-Ptr vent 2, MOB, Oculus 9 x2
I also have a salvo 12, but it's kinda a gimmick to put on my Tavor 12 or Turk bullpup
I have 4 55 gallon food grade tanks I use for my water supply. I drain, clean and refill the oldest one every 6 months (times for equinox) and refill with tap and add pool shock. Our tap has very low solids dissolved. I keep these in a partially buried garage with untreated 1x4 raising it off the cement to keep chemical from crossing over into the containers.
I have drunk the 2 year old water several times before without any problems besides the stale taste.
They are the bunghole style, so it's a bit of a pain to clean, just throw in a tiny bit of soap, shake a lot, rinse with bleach and then water until residue is gone.amd water doesn't foam.
Is there a better way to do this system? In an emergency, I would probably boil the water before using it as well.
The bonus question is asking for what people use for MREs. I like to keep 2 cases I replace every 2 years that I keep besides the usual deep pantry and large supply of freeze dried food.
The non RA2/3 mutil location dimmers, such as the Sunnata st-pro, seem to couple an RF signal on the AC lines. I was wondering if there was any project to read and/or inject RF Data into these lines to control the dimmers.
The goal would be to use a esp32 with a bias tee to inject and read this communication that travels over the 110ac lines. The goal is to bypass the RA3 infrastructure in home assistant. I imagine it could be sometime like the way x10 works.
Is there anything I should watch out for while having a mortgage? I have sub 3 rate that I am looking to pay minimums on.
My experience- When my mortgage got sold to Mr. Cooper, they always try to reassess what I need to supplement my insurance Every year.l and they want to default to something they add, that is expensive. The property happens to be mostly land and the improvements are actually a small percentage. I've used the county actual appraisal and given an RS Means new replacement costs (I have to maintain an appraisal cert for work).
That and I get the opt out letters annually as they try to seek HELOCs.
I have a bunch of CMMG RDB and discounted the mat9 until I learned it was now roller delayed compared to when I looked at them about 2 years ago.
Is it compatible with the NFA S-9 lowers (they take scorpion mags) or do they work with modifications?(possibly lowering the mag and feed lips, like to get to work with the dissent)
What is their reliability now?(I read of some issues early on but it seems like way less now).
Any options in 10mm, have a banshee and wish I got the bog 10a3 instead. Have a state AWB and before I realized about the ejector wear in the RDBs.
Any other info is appreciated!
I personally think as a centrist, that you should have fact backed evidence and ask if you are emotionally connected to the view. I was wondering if anyone had views that they consider logical, but have been met with an emotional response.
an example of my view I consider in this category.
I am definitive that COVID was a lab leak and not a natural resovoir source. It was not designed as a weapon but as a research virus.
Why I hold this view.
Lab viruses and prokerotic bacteria are designed with almost all of the base pairs encoding into functional sections while natural occuring of these contain large sections of their DNA/RNA that don't transcribe into functional polypeptide/proteins, due to generational mutations over time. COVID exhibits very little dead space as well as had some sequences that are usually found in lab made codons vs natural occuring codons. (3 base pair sequences make 1 amino acid. some of these are fuzzy, meaning that only 2 BPs determine the amino acid).
It's a view I had very early on that was really polarizing at the time and think it is still today.
As a counter, I used to believe that Lyme disease was a lab leak as well, but in that case it was more anecdotal correlation and I didn't know as much about genomics. Evidence since then shows the bacteria has been found to predate the Lyme breakout and does not exhibit the characteristics of a very high level of encoding, which is a big indicator of source type.
