My wife is fighting breast cancer and just trying to get by gofund.me/51b5324e6

My wife was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in January of this year. She has since undergone a double mastectomy and has completed her "Red Devil" chemotherapy treatments and has transitioned into less intensive treatments. So far her prognosis is good from all of her scans. I have recently returned to work after taking two months off to be with her during those brutal red devil treatments. She hasn't been able to work since April of this year. We've had our struggles and more than our fair share of trials. Everything has been an uphill battle and I'm tired and exhausted and I absolutely hate watching what my wife has to go through. Our son started 2nd grade today, we took a little mini vacation over the weekend to just getaway, nothing' big, didn't even leave our state, and that was the best we have felt in a long time. The emotional and physical toll on us has been the hardest thing to bear and when finances and income insecurity began to hit, it was even worse. Being the caregiver, Dad, partner, best friend, husband and supporter has been the greatest weight I've ever had to hold. I started our campaign in April just hoping to make ends meet and now I'm really worried. I don't want my wife to worry. Lauren, she's my everything, and all I want for her is to know that our son and our family will be ok.

70mm at AMC Theaters was bad

I saw a showing yesterday of The Odyssey and I was pretty unimpressed (with the format, the movie was great) and I'm hoping it was just that screening or something technical was wrong. When the film started, the projection initially felt "off" like it was slightly askew and didn't quite fill the screen. It shortly corrected within 10 seconds or so, but for most of the screening, the projection seemed to be at times blurry and trying to adjust focus constantly. Landscapes and still shots constantly blurred and came back into focus, foreground characters kept going in and out of focus, and the Cyclops cave scene was near pitch black, even with the fire ambient light, the scene was barely visible on screen.

I want to see this again, but wondering if I should choose a different format or venue all together. I've never watched anything in 70mm before that wasn't true IMAX. I tried to bring this to the attention of the theater staff to have them check it out but they said they couldn't make adjustments during a screening, which I thought was odd. I don't know, it didn't make the movie unwatchable, but it was noticeable throughout. Going to look for a different format or maybe a better theater.

Lynsi Synder, President of In-and-Out, can go f**k herself

Read "Trooper and civilian praised as ‘heros’ during In-N-Out shooting" on SmartNews: https://l.smartnews.com/p-8e6MZweA/lCNWqb

The statement issued by Lynsi Synder, the President of In-and-Out, describes the "Beautiful Associate...died taking care of their most important asset, the customer." Fuck you, Lynsi. I genuinely thought that a Christian company would take a moment, read the room, and maybe just understand how that last part sounds. If you work for this shitty company, you clearly aren't the most valuable asset. "Thank God our precious assets (customers/money flow) didn't perish!!"

Why are transgender women often targeted more than transgender men? Do most people genuinely not care about women transitioning to men?

The attacks on the trans community often seems to be precisely targeted on trans women, especially in the areas of them participating in girls/women's sports. But this bias doesn't seem to be as intensely focused on trans men. I'm mostly trying to understand why. I'm aware of the obvious answer to what I stated posed above but I'm wondering if there's more to it than that and why that "outrage" that some have isn't equally distributed.

Is Firestone pulling a fast on me? Can't locate source of my AC problem

2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited.

Sent it in to Firestone initially over Memorial Day to have service done and part of that service was to service my AC. My initial complaint was that the AC would blow cold for the first few minutes and then it would get warm. They checked the refrigerant and freon, all of those levels were fine, and nothing initially wrong with the compressor. They did some more diagnostics and found the compressor was locking up, supposedly causing the warm air. Took the Jeep back home and noticed that not much was different, still blowing warm, figured it would take a day or so to get back to regular working conditions.

Few days go by, did some long driving on the highway for about two hours, absolutely no change in the AC, warm air the whole time. AC on the lowest cold level it could on maximum air. Took it back to Firestone, explained the situation again, they kept repeating the same thing to me every time they updated me, "yup, it's definitely not blowing cold." "But you said the new compressor fixed the issue?" Now they've discovered that the radiator fan will not turn on when the AC is engaged but it will turn on when the engine temp needs it. However, they keep telling me, that some cold air should be moving, so they can't particularly pinpoint if it's the radiator fan (I assume it's a bad sensor or circuitry) or they think it's possibly an issue with the blend door and/or actuator.

They were doing more diagnostics on it yesterday when one of their machines broke down during a drive test and apparently that made it impossible to continue working on it until that machine was repaired some time today but that was not a guarantee. I took the Jeep back home cause they were certain they wouldn't be able to get back to it again until this coming Friday and I just can't be without my car for that long.

Should I give up on Firestone and look for someone else? Give them the benefit of the doubt and at least let them complete the diagnostic they were doing and then make a decision? Having confidence issues with this Firestone.

Between both of these services, Firestone held my car for four days in total, unable to really nail down the problem.

Do either of those areas they mentioned to me seem like plausible areas of fault on why the AC isn't working properly? TIA

Salons/wig makers and tattoo artists that are sensitive and understanding to patients going through chemo

My wife is fighting breast cancer and she will be starting chemotherapy in two weeks. She is understandably upset and worried about losing her hair and I am doing everything I can to make this unfortunate and temporary process as seamless and as comfortable as possible for her. My wife is very proud of how she looks and she doesn't want the loss of her hair to be something that starts a conversation; doesn't want the focus to be on her and I totally get that. Looking for salons that can first and foremost help her transition into getting her hair cut down so it feels more gradual and not a sudden shock. Then, looking into the possibility of her wearing a wig/hairpiece (I don't know the current terminology) that she can wear when she wants to be out. She's into hats and is slowly embracing the idea of headscarves. And lastly, and this will be further down the road, looking for a tattoo artist that is experienced in tattooing fake nipples/areolas on her chest once she has finally completed her treatment and she's at the size she wants to be and is healed up. TIA!

tl;dr: recommendations on salons/stylists sensitive to chemo patients, wig makers and tattoo artists who can apply fake nipples. Thanks!

EDIT: I left this out, but realized it's relevant. She had a double mastectomy, and her nipples/areolas couldn't be saved, hence the need for tattooing.
